Cosy country apartment located on Lake Road in Moyard. Lovely area with beautiful scenic walks and beaches nearby. Letterfrack is 2km with shop, bars and restaurants. Cleggan is 4km away with shop, bars, restaurants and trips to Inishbofin Island. Clifden is 10km away with shops, bars and restaurants. It is lovely area to explore Connemara with places to visit like Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, The Sky Road, Omey Tidal Island, trips to Inishbofin Island to name a few areas to visit.
  • Apartment to recommend, absolutely nothing to complain about. Our hosts have everything planned to make the stay go well, up to the heating mattresses for the wrinkles of Irish winters. We even had a delicious fruit cake for breakfast. To book without hesitation !!!

  • More than a place to stay, this little apartment has windows with a beautiful view looking out to the mountains. I was contacted almost daily with travel tips and places to visit. The layout was comfortable and the laundry and TV were a great way to catchup after trekking. Most of all was the location so near to Connemara park and Diamond peak, restaurants in both Letterfrack and Clifden, plus the Kylemore Abbey. It was a perfect place to visit many places and have the comforts of home. I recommend anyone coming to the area to reserve this space.

  • We've been there recently for one night as we wanted to see Connamara Nation Park and Kylemore Abbey. Both points of interest are nearby and can be reached within 5 minutes. The appartment itself is on the owners property but has it's own entrance. It was a bit hard to find as the our navigation system didn't know the given road but Irene was very helpful and supportive and was very quick in responding to our messages. Check-In went smooth and Irene showed us the appartment within minutes. One highlight to mention is that Irene offered to drive us to Cliffden (town nearby). This was beyond expectations and was very kind. Altogether we had a great stay and I can definately recommend this place for everyone who is on a roadtrip or to stay for more than one day.

  • Declan is very nice and is very present for the guest. The room is very beautifull and the place was Amazing. It's quiet place to stay in Connemara ! I will be back again one day! Thanks for all Declan!

    Sammy2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • How can we describe the experience of being in a traditional stone cottage, having a fire in the wood stove, surrounded by the Connemara Mountains. Declan is a fine host, offers healthy food for breakfast, a helping hand if you need it, and a quiet discretion that is very welcome. The house is small, but the land around it is large! And the towns nearby offer true Irish tradition and fantastic food. We loved staying here. Thank you.

    Lydia2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Declan's place was a really nice stay in a beautiful area of Ireland. He welcomed us into his home very kindly, and his recommendations for places to visit were of real help.

  • Beautiful part of the country warm and cozy old cottage highly recommended

    Jewel2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect. Declan was very very very caring with us. I will come back. He does for us a fire of turf. I was very happy to live that. It was a very pastoral ambiance. We were in the middle of the sheeps. It was very "exotic" for us. I really LOVE the NATURE in Ireland. And by Declan we were in the middle/in the heart of this WONDERFUL irish NATURE.

Our space looks out over the garden and surrounding landscape. The stove is cozy to come home to after a walk on the beach. There is a kitchen counter with well equipped mini kitchen facilities in the living room area.
Our home is located between the lively village of Letterfrack and Clifden. Clifden is an attractive town with restaurants, pubs and a great range of shops
  • This is a lovely cozy place to stay to enjoy Connemara. We warmly recommend this place and the hosts.

  • Alannah and her family are very kind. We stay in her little house near to her home. So it was great because of the independence. The place is cosy and quiet, near to the connemara national park, the Kylemore abbey and of course the connemara's lake. The landscape is very beautiful. We enjoy our stay in her home. I recommand her adress.

    Ingrid2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We didnt expect alannah's place to be so lovely. We recommend everybody to spend there at least four nights. Dont worry u wont waste your time. Eventhough hiking all the day we felt like coming home every evening. Dream weekend house:)

    Lukáš2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • It was a really nice stay, Alannah and her family are very friendly! We can recommend tgis place

    Christina2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful!

    Riaan2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Allanah’s place was exactly as described. Quiet, peaceful and very comfortable. I slept better than I have in months! The location is excellent and we could have easily spent another 3 or 4 nights there exploring the area and relaxing. Her homemade bread was delicious. We would definitely stay there again if ever in the area again.

    Nina2019-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Alannah's private holiday cottage in Connemara. Situated in a very beautiful, remote location, the cottage was perfect for walks in the hills and mountains in Connemara. The bed was insanely comfortable, and the cottage has an excellent wood-burning stove which heats the whole place up very quickly. We particularly appreciated the personal touches she gave including bread and eggs from the hens. Although remote, the place was an easy drive away from the bustling town of Clifden, while Letterfrack is only a few minutes in the other. Easy parking, beaches nearby.

    Fred2019-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Alannah’s place. It’s very good located to visit the main spots in connemara region. The place is quiet and cosy ! The family offered us eggs, homemade bread and fruits for breakfast : perfect ! Would highly recommend !

  • Aine was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived giving us lots of tips for things to see and places to visit. She had even lit the log burner for us so it was cosy and warm. The cottage was in a good location close to town and we enjoyed seeing the wonderful countryside out and about and getting to visit some of the local bars to hear some traditional Irish music.

    Hannah2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Aibnb is extremely well located inside Clifden, and you will find everything you will need. Although it might be cold during winter time, the place has nice amenities. Aine even got us tea/coffee/breakfast. She is extremely nice and will give you loads of tips about what to do in case you run out of idea. Finally, the place was ever so clean. I’d definitely stay there again if I were to come to Connemara again.

  • We had a lovely stay at Kate's Cottage. It's in a beautiful, quiet, rural location and just minutes from Clifden. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and warm - the fire was lit prior to our arrival which made for a true warm welcome. The home has everything you would need, everything is thought of. Aine is the perfect host. She kindly gave us a lift into Clifden and pointed out some great recommendations, Guy's for dinner and Lowry's for drinks and music after. We would be delighted to stay in Kate's Cottage the next time we visit Clifden!

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is cozy and warm along with a peat fire. The road is A wonderful place to walk and a good place to explore from. It was so clean and had every thing one would need it was a excellent stay!

  • What a lovely Weekend we have just had. Aine left Adam in charge he done a great job. Popped in to say hello when we arrived and gave a few recommendations, then left us to it, making sure that we were happy to contact him if we needed to. The second night we just so happened to be in a pub that he was playing in. Really lovely for a chilled out of season visit

    Jasmine2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

This is a beautiful small cottage built in the traditional style on the Wild Atlantic Way just 1.5 km from Letterfrack Village and the centre of the stunning Connemara National Park. The sea is just 300m away and the house is private and set among trees.
It is located at the heart of North West Connemara within 1.5km of the Connemara National Park (Walks are currently open March 2020 but not visitor centre) and 6km from Kylemore Abbey. Also within walking distance of Rosleague Manor for food and bar. The fields next door have wonderful panoramic view of the Diamond and the Kylemore valley as well as Ballinakill Bay for you to enjoy. The area is littered with remote beaches of golden sand and turquoise seas to swim or kayak in. The house is close to mountains and hills with views over bogs and lakes. We would love to share it with you.
Letterfrack is a lively village often with music at weekends and plenty to do both in the pubs and outside. We are spoiled here with the most beautiful scenery. Deserted beaches views of The Twelve Bens Mountain range and the Wild Atlantic Ocean. There is little light pollution and we havedark skies with thousands of stars - make sure to go outside on a clear night the Sky looks 3 dimensional.
  • Fantastic accommodation fantastic location.. highly recommended.

  • Lovely, comfortable, clean and well-equipped accommodation. We only stayed for 3 days but a longer stay would have been possible because we felt so good there. The only negative point would be that the accommodation is a bit isolated but for us, it was rather a positive point because it was very relaxing and the place is so beautiful. A magnificent view filled us during the whole stay! Walking tours possible from the accommodation and very close to the sea and beaches. In addition Carmel is helpful, available and friendly.

    Joanie2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. The hotel is stunning from the exterior and has a homeliness to it inside. The staff and management run it in a very communal way with free scones and Prosecco helping to get guests together in one space and create a great atmosphere. They took a picture of us at dinner one night and printed it off as a free gift. Little things like that make all the difference and we loved the vibe they try to create in their space. The location is ideal if you are trying to move around different parts of Connemara. The only small complaint I’d have is the shower we had was not powerful at all and we had to use the bath hose which was inconvenient

We offer a cosy, bright, private studio apartment for a maximum of one couple. Located at one end of the house on a quiet country road, we are approximately 3k from Letterfrack village and Connemara National Park. Adjacent to both the sea and the Twelve Bens mountain range, this is a beautiful situation with an abundance of activities available nearby and plenty of restaurants. We live on a small holding which includes 5 rescue dogs and small livestock which are loose to roam around the site.
  • Patricia’s place is pristine. It was clean, there was a kitchen, sitting room, books about the Celts on the shelves, breakfast was delicious - pancakes and skyr plus a fruit basket waiting for me as well. The location is beautiful as well. Would highly recommend!

    Daniel2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia's place is delightful. We had our own space that was perfect for our needs. It is located just minutes from Connemara National Park and was perfect for visiting Kylemore Abbey. We hope to visit again!

    Wendy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia’s home is incredibly relaxing and cozy. The room was bigger than expected, the bed very comfortable. Her sweet black kitty kept us company. Directions were clear. An excellent stay.

    Maggie2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little house near Conemara National Park. The views from the place are beautiful, and we loved all the animals. The little black cat was such a sweetheart. Wish we could have stayed longer, definitely recommend.

    Tim2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia’s apartment is a fantastic retreat in the middle of the Connemara countryside. If you are a lover of animals this is the place for you. Dogs, ducks, chickens, and a pig were all there to greet us in the morning. It was the little touches that made it really special. Thank you again Patricia for one of our most memorable nights on our tour so far.

    Tom2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This trip was simply magical! That's all we dreamed of when we went to Connemara ... friendliness, scenery, a host of great kindness and invaluable help with logistics and advice! The house is perfect, the animals are lovely, Patricia is really exceptional! Only happiness. Our only regret: staying only one night. Lovers of nature and real life, we strongly recommend !!!!

    Eloi2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Not easy to find in the dark but worth the journey. Patricia did rescue me though on an exceptionally rainy night!

    Alexis2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is brilliant - a large double bedroom, en-suite with shower, living room with sofa and breakfast table, and a kitchen. Patricia had left us some fresh eggs, jam and bread for the morning and we also met all the animals (dogs, chickens, turkeys, cats and the pig) which made the stay really lovely. The views are incredible and there are some nice places to eat a very short drive away. Would recommend!!

The bedroom hosts a King size bed and all of the rooms are newly designed and decorated to a high standard. There is an oldly worldly feel to the decor and we have tried to keep the traditional Irish Cottage feel throughout. We supply your first basket of fuel for the wood burner and for guests staying 5 nights or longer we offer an Irish Gift basket to welcome you to our little hideaway. There are no laundry facilities in the house, however we do offer a laundry service (wash & dry for €10 per load), for guests staying 5 nights or longer we will come in half way through your stay (obviously whilst you are out) to clean, change bed linen, replenish towels and launder clothing free of charge. We look to make your stay with us as hassle free as possible and your time in Connemara as enjoyable as possible. We live on site and are always available to help. We offer free parking and should you choose to walk into Clifden Town, which is a 10-15 minute stroll away on a well lit road.
A 5 minute walk to the Greenway, The Salt Lake and a couple of minutes walk to the Connemara All Blacks Rugby Club. 15 minutes stroll to your first pub, Mannions. The Connemara National Park in Letterfrack is a 20 minute drive from the cottages. The road from the house to Clifden is fully lit and paved so there is no need to worry about having to walk up narrow unpaved or unlit boreens. Here, and in near by Maam Valley are the settings for such films as the Field and John Ford's classic, The Quiet Man.

  • Fabulous accommodation. The location itself is just so beautiful, and the apartment was so modern and spotless. Anna had thought of everything, it really made for a great holiday!

    James2019-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The only thing that could’ve made our stay at Anna’s better is if we would’ve stayed there throughout our whole visit to Ireland! The scenery was incredible and the apartment was cozy. It was also very nice to have a washer and dryer being this close to the end of our trip! Anna left amazing scones for us and they were great for breakfast the next morning! I would recommend staying at Anna’s to everyone and hope to return myself in the future!

    Alexandra2018-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I spent 2 days at Anna’s place, and it was an amazing experience! Super clean and beautiful apartment, breathtaking nature views and very soulful kind hosts who are ready to help with anything. We see that some guests complain about fact that the electricity is managed by a separate meter, but overall is a nice experience that brings you closer to the eco-friendly atmosphere of Ireland. Thank you for such a nice experience in Connemara!

    Pedro2018-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quiet, little cottage at the sea. Everything you need and more. Anna was on hand if we needed anything and was very helpful. Would love to come back and stay for a week.

    Debbie2018-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment with a gorgeous view and close to a lovely beach. We loved our stay! We were a bit taken off guard by the presence of a meter that only accepted 1 or 2 euro coins for electricity - so when you arrive, come prepared with a bit of change so you can use the amenities!

Located on The Town Square our newly renovated studio dating back to 1838 enjoys a southerly aspect and direct access to a private terraced patio with BBQ and original stone steps lead to the garden which has great views of Clifden Harbour. On our doorstep there are many bars, restaurants and shops. This apt is a real home from home where one can cook in the kitchen and sit by our solid fuel stove. We have a cast iron bath and an overhead electric shower where one can soak after a days touring
The location is superb. The Studio is just a short stroll from all the pubs, restaurants and shops in town. Clifden, situated on the Wild Atlantic way has much to offer.
  • A perfect little hideaway for two in the heart of Clifden. Clean, warm and cosy. Sinead is very welcoming and attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Hope to come back to this wonderful part of the world soon!

    Helen2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and very clean apartment. As described. It is very well located for exploring Connemara. The hosts are very responsive. I highly recommend!!

  • Sinead's place is right at the centre of Clifden and very convenient for a couple. It is a very cozy studio with all basic amenities that you could possibly need. Supervalu is less than a minute's walk and very nice pubs are just around the corner.

    Fergal2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice studio, right in the city center (all pubs / restaurants within easy reach). Possibility of making a fire in the stove by buying the fuel (even if we did not take advantage of it) We did not see Sinead, but the indications were very clear, and the booklet it leaves to the tenants, gives all the necessary recommendations for what to eat / drink / visit in the corners. We recommend !

    Nicolas2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sinead’s studio is a lovely little retreat and is very well equipped for both a short or long stay. It is perfectly located with a great choice of pubs and restaurants. Sinead is a great host and Clifden is a very friendly place, both Tom Kings pub and the restaurant ‘Off the square’ deserve a special mention. I would not hesitate to recommend and hope to return soon.

    Teresa2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little comfy space in Clifden, great base for exploring Conemarra and well placed in the town to enjoy local hospitality. Despite being so centrally located, the apartment was also really quiet. Great facilities for cooking etc. too.

    Becca2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! Sinead is wonderful to deal with and her studio has everything you need. Well thought out, great little balcony and it was pet friendly meaning I could bring my little jack Russell with us. It’s a warm, cosy unit with more amenities than expected (washing machine, dryer, lovely electrical shower, full kitchen, cosy bed). Located in the town centre- 30 seconds from everything. The locals in Cliften are warm and welcoming. We felt a weekend was not long enough and look forward to getting back. Sinead was wonderful to communicate with. All our needs were met 100%. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

    Sharon2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to stay for exploring Clifden. Right in the middle of the town but once you are inside you wouldn't even think it. In my partner's word it is very cute. The folder provided on the table has some great options for things to do and places to eat which we made use of. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in future.

A beautiful atmosphere of passing travelers emerges from the walls and is carried by the owner of the places very welcoming. The breakfast is a real plus. Otherwise 2 pubs / restaurants are located 5 minutes walk. To test !

  • This is a great little place. A lovely welcome from Gillian who had the fire lit and a bottle of vino waiting for us. Having arrived late at night it was a sight for sore eyes. The place itself is lovely, quirky and cosy. The kitchen has it all, living area really comfy with big fireplace. The bed was also fab and waking up and looking out the skylight to lovely views just makes you want to get out there and see it all. Only 3 or 4km from clifden and not too far from renvile and kylemore abbey. All in all and fabulous little spot and well worth the visit. Thanks again Gerry

The kitchen was well equipped and had everything needed for cooking a meal. The peat fire added a warm, enchanting atmosphere. Gillian was a lovely hostess and had a lovely bottle of red wine to greet us as well as a freshly baked loaf of sofa bread.

She even made sure the kids had buckets and spades to use on the beach. The cottage is beautiful in a wonderful setting. Very modern with everything we needed for a week. We particularly enjoyed the rocky local beach and sandy Renvyle beach, and the ability to walk out the back of the house and up onto Tully Hill. We loved our stay (despite the rain!) and would absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone. Thanks Sinead.

  • Had a lovely stay in the waterfall hut, I expected it to be cold but it was actually very comfortable. The hostel itself is incredibly charming and couldn’t be located more conveniently to the national park. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

  • We had a wonderful stay in the waterfall cabin. It's very cosy, the area is beautiful and Stephen makes great porridge and soda bread for breakfast!!! We are definitely coming back :) For light sleepers I would recommend earplugs since the waterfall is quite loud ;)

  • We had a great stay in this friendly place. After a very warm welcome the premises were shown and we fell in love with the style of the house. Really a place to relax!

  • Stephen and Silvana’s BnB is a really cosy and beautiful decorated old Irish house! It is easy to find and offers different ways to spend the night there. You can rent a clamp, a family room, a mixed room or simply camp in the garden for a little fee. The price includes a nice breakfast with self baked bread by Stephen, coffee tee and porridge! Once you arrived and the reception isn’t manned you can sit and wait in the living room till Stephen or Silvana welcome you! We felt like a big multicultural family with common evenings playing guitar or games and dinner! There are common areas as well, like kitchen, living room and 2 baths with showers! The bnb is located direct in front of the Connemara national park with the beautiful diamond hill hike just 100 meters away. We definitely recommend a stay at the old Monastery Hostel in Letterfrack!

  • We had a great stay at the waterfall hut. The location was perfect for hiking in Connemara, strolling into town for dinner, and driving around the area. Thanks so much for the travel tips and lovely breakfasts!

  • We stayed in the waterfall hut for two nights. It was great: the sound of the waterfall to wake up is very welcome. The hostel was clean and tastefully decorated! The atmosphere was very nice and we met a lot of French. The hosts were very present and responsive. We recommend 100%!

    Aurélie2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described. Lovely atmosphere. I stayed in the waterfall hut, which I absolutely loved. The heated blankets made the bed nice and warm, the sound of the waterfall made me fall asleep within minutes. It was just a really friendly and nice place. Definitely coming back on my next visit to Ireland!

Oystercatcher Cottage is situated in a stunning seaside location enjoying panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean. It is an old cottage which has been renovated over the years while still maintaining it's rustic charm. It's location, in one of the most scenic spots along the Wild Atlantic Way in Connemara, is simply breathtaking. Please note there is no Wifi - it's a real "get away from it all" location.
It is a small traditional cottage with an outside decking area overlooking the sea, a good sized garden, patio area and shed. The inside space comprises a kitchen/dining area, cosy sitting room and bathroom on the ground floor. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs which are accessed by a wooden ladder as seen in the photos (please note this may not be suitable for young children or elderly/infirm adults – look at the photos to decide whether it is suitable for you and your group). There is one bedroom with a king-size bed and another bedroom with 2 single beds, sleeping 4 people in total. The door from the kitchen leads out to the decking area from which you can enjoy fabulous sea views. If you're lucky you might even catch sight of dolphins passing by. In the summer months you can see beautiful sunsets over the sea. The cottage combines many traditional features with modern conveniences including a multi-fuel stove, electric heating, hot water and a small but fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and everything you need to cook your own meals. For entertainment there is a TV, Xbox, dvds, games and books. There is a washing machine and clothes dryer in the adjacent shed, along with a BBQ and outdoor furniture for your use. Depending on the weather, the cottage can be a calm and idyllic place; a real paradise, or wild and windswept as it sits on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Either way it's a special place to be. It's particularly suitable for couples looking for a romantic getaway or small groups of friends/family who want to experience the raw beauty of the West of Ireland. The name 'Oystercatcher Cottage' comes from the sea birds often seen and heard on the shore below.
Oystercatcher Cottage is situated in Mullaghgloss on the Renvyle peninsula on the famous Wild Atlantic Way driving route. The cottage is close to many stunning beaches - Lettergesh is the closest at just 2km away. The cottage has views to the mouth of Killary Harbour and across the bay to Co. Mayo in the distance. The village of Tullycross is 2.5k away where you'll find bars serving food including the award-winning Paddy Coynes Pub. The entrance to Connemara National Park is just 7km away in Letterfrack village. The walk to the top of Diamond Hill in the park is well worth the effort. In Letterfrack village you will find a supermarket and more bars which serve food. Kylemore Abbey & Gardens and the town of Clifden are also within easy driving distance.
  • This is just a great place to stay. To come home to after a day of hiking or to stay in and look out at the ocean when the weather is bad - it's just gorgeous. Listening to the sea at night, and waking up to it is wonderful. The cottage has everything you need for proper self-catering cooking, and it have books, DVDs and board games too. The mattress in the double bed is really good and seems new. The personal touches as well as the newly fitted oven/hob, fridge and dishwasher make this a lovely old school cottage with mod cons! Great strong shower too. Check in was a breeze, and communication was great. Definitely come and stay here.

  • Sensational location, really cute cottage, stylish and cosy, fabulous beaches and scenery, great pub nearby. We loved it!

    Sarah2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A truly wonderful place, I highly recommend it to anyone! The cottage is in a perfect location with amazing views, we visited in winter and loved lighting the wood/peat burner each evening. Such a cosy place to stay in a beautiful part of the world.

  • Amazing spot. Breathtaking views. Unique and cosy setting.

    Glen2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start... f a b u l o u s location, and such a cozy, well-equipped and nicely styled cottage. The view is out of this world. Was lucky enough to have a morning coffee out on the deck in the middle of winter. The bed was very comfy. Lovely owners, great communication. Can’t wait to return in summer one day!

    Melanie2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot and a really well-appointed cottage nestled on the coast. We loved it and would happily go back.

    Niall2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is s gem - a find. The cottage is so tastefully decorated. It’s also quirky - it’s location is sublime, set just above a cliff overlooking the Atlantic just south of Killary Harbour at the mouth of Clew Bay. The beaches are spectacular and the views of the Islands and mountains are off the scale for beauty. There is a wonderfully comforting feel to the place - it’s been a very happy home, you can tell.

    Rosaleen2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a cottage, simple but perfectly formed and the most breathtaking views out over the sea. We visited around late October so the weather wasnt great but it didnt matter. Windswept beach walks, cosy wood burning stove and books to read. Heaven. We felt very lucky to stay there.

"The Guest Wing" is a comfortable one bed apartment a short walk along the pier to Clifden's centre. The Apartment is quiet and private.
We are situated on Clifden's Beach Road - between the town and the beach. The route is popular for walkers, runners and cyclists as it forms part of a 5km (3mile) loop with the famous Sky Road. The road is usually quiet with most passing traffic pedestrian or nautical.
  • The pictures don’t do The Guest Wing justice, it is immaculate and the space is well thought out and designed perfectly for two. There is a view of the sunrise out of the bedroom window and just a short drive to the Sky Road to see the most incredible sunset. Susan and Leo were incredibly accommodating hosts with lots of helpful contact in advance to help us plan our arrival, it couldn’t have been smoother. The fire makes the apartment really cosy and it’s setting is very sheltered from the wild Atlantic weather, which can be viewed at leisure from the comfort of the apartment. The bed was very spacious and comfortable and another highlight was the custom shower, which if you opened the bathroom window felt like you’re almost outdoors, wonderful! Many places make a good base for travelling but The Guest Wing made you look forward to getting back after a day of sightseeing. Lots of places close by including Lowrys which made us feel very welcome and had great live music. Would highly recommend.

    Clare2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was more than perfect. We had an amazing stay at Susan and Leo's appartement. We will come back for sure !

    Jade2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Leo's place is a gem! It far exceeded my expectations. The location is perfection -- overlooking the water and along a sweet promenade that goes into town in one direction, and out to the water in the other direction. Within 10 minutes, I was up on Sky Road where I enjoyed a stunning and long walk with breathtaking views of the water. A highlight of my visit! Susan met me upon arrival and could not have been more welcoming. Her communication was prompt and warm. The home itself is clean, stylish and complete with several thoughtful touches. I cooked dinner at home both nights and had everything I needed in the adorable and efficiently equipped kitchen. The wood burning stove was a dream. What a charming place to land! I so hope that I will have an excuse to return here.

    Claire2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a terrific time at Susan and Leo's place in Clifden! It was a wonderful location and the apartment was perfect, both for a base to set off and explore the area as well as a place to sit back and relax and enjoy the wind and the rain. Would definitely visit again!

    Hugues2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Tha apartment is very comfortable, nice and warm for a winter stay. Everything is top quality. It’s easy to go for a walk along the coast from their house. We were very lucky with the weather so we could explore the region around which is breathtalkîngly beautiful. Clifden is a great little town with music in several pub and good food. Susan and her husband offer very good advice.

    Christine2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Leo were just excellent hosts. They were proactively attentive, and provided an excellent place and experience! It is abundantly clear why they are top rated hosts. Their place is the nicest one in which I have had the pleasure to stay. The location is an ideal distance from the Village, and has an excellent Sunset view. The walk to town along the waterfront is really enjoyable, and the The Sky at night is amazing due to the absence of light pollution. I intend to stay with Susan and Leo again in the future for an extended time, and highly recommend them as a top of the line experience in Air B&B.

    Robert2019-11-26T00:00:00Z

  • Great stay at this hotel, very close to the city and the skyroad. By car or bus you are 15 minutes from the entrance to Connemara National Park. The little champagne as well as the “tea and scones” was very very appreciable :) The clientele during this period was rather regulars of the hotel or the bar and restaurant. My room was more than excellent for the price of 57 euros. A little bit of noise in the morning when people get up for breakfast but it didn't bother me. I would come back for sure!

  • Old monastery hostel is a beautiful place with a soul, a lot of art, upcycled elements. It's very clean even though it's old. The cabin is not very hot so a pair of woolen socks will be handy. Also, the cabin is right next to a river and nicely isolated from the main house which means to go to bathroom you need to go outside and then to the main house. Kitchen has all cooking amenities, breakfast is very delicious (home made soda bread, fruit bread, boiled eggs, porridge, butter, jams, fruits). Bathrooms and showers are hostel style, a few cabins and sinks in one room. Living room has a lot of board games, very warm and chilling. Conemara park entrance is 1 minute walk, amazing! Thanks for hosting us, Stephen, we would definitely come back while visiting Connemara again. This place is for people who likes staying simple with a nature, not a hotel type of stay.

  • Cutest hostel, very cozy especially in the room with the fire burning. Perfect location for touring the Connemara area. Easy to find. Stephen was kind and very knowledgeable. Hopefully will return to this location and would stay again.

  • Quirky and beautiful stay

    Anne2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most amazing hostel we have stayed at - with lots of quirky little features and loads of character! Location is also great: directly next to the Connemara visitor centre, with walks on the doorstep. Cute cat waiting at the entrance.

    Louise2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Always a great time at the Old Monastery. Can't wait for our next visit.

    Claudio2019-10-29T00:00:00Z

  • It’s so good I almost don’t wanna tell anyone... If you like boho charm, this is the place for you. If you like sleek and modern, better look elsewhere.

Long and medium stays welcome - send a message for special price . Letterfrack Lodge is on large private site with WiFi, Lovely three/four bedroom house - with three bathrooms on a small horse and pony farm in Letterfrack village - beside Connemara National Park. The house is set in a lovely private garden and only 2 minute walk to restaurants, shop and pubs. We also have pigs, chickens and dogs on our small farm. And beautiful beaches only 5 km away.
The house and rooms are large, bright rooms in an ideal location in Letterfrack village at the foot of Diamond Mountain and Connemara National Park. The house has three double bedrooms with private bathrooms. House is located on our small mountain farm with horses, ponies, pigs and hens.

  • Super night! I will remember this passage in Letterfrack. Perfectly located, the hostel is a unique place for its decoration, its atmosphere .. I loved the atmosphere. Steven is friendly and the breakfast is ideal and comforting to go hiking in the rain after in the connemara !! I recommend this place! You do not find the same at this price and in this place yet so tourist!

    Pauline2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very good. Stephen is approachable and his inn is really charming. Thanks again.

    Guillaume2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Usually I would consider myself being too old to stay in a hostel, but this one proved me wrong. It´s a quirky and magical place. I loved the design and the details and the homemade bread in the morning. I would like to stay there again for one or two nights (for a longer stay I would need my own bathroom ;) on my next trip to Connemara! Letterfrack is wonderful. Stephen, you created a very special thing there. I salute you for that and for your friendly grumpiness or grumpy friendliness as well! See you again someday! :)

  • Really exotic, at the foot of diamon hill and near the abbey (10min by car). Just perfect for a nature break, roots. The decor the ambience the place and the welcome do everything to feel like home. This hostel has a real charm, it is not the luxury graaand, and that's exactly what makes you feel so good. Enjoy your travel!

    Sofia2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Although the pictures already indicate a pretty house I was amazed as I entered the hostel. It is gorgerous, full of details and really really cosy. The two hosts were kind, breakfast was amazing and the diamont hill trail starts directly behind the courtyard. Definitly one of the highlights of my journey!

    Caro2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • That’s the real hostel experience, every hostel should be like this. Will come back:)

    Anna2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great hostel! I'm even staying a second day! Very warm and welcoming you feel right now! It reigns an atmosphere and friendly!
