Cosy, rustic, off-grid wooden cabin, surrounded by mature, private woodland with diverse wildlife. 1.5 miles south of Biggar. Woodburning Stove & Cookware Sleeping Bags/Pillows with fresh cotton slips/Towels/Firewood/Candles all provided Outdoor (heat your own water) Camping Shower Compost loo Views to Coulter Fell & Tinto Hill - fantastic hikes! Easy walk to River Clyde Glentress/Peebles 30min by car, Edinburgh 40min, Glasgow 50min Regular Direct Bus Service * This is not Glamping! ;-)
A renovated wooden horse stable with mezzanine bed up a ladder, wood-burning stove (pots/pans/utensils etc provided), kitchen sink with fresh drinking water and DIY outdoor (hot!) camping shower. This is simple, rustic living for those who want to be closer to nature, surrounded by trees and birdsong. The site is not completely free of road noise (see satellite image) but with a light wind through leafy trees it's certainly well masked. Winter visitors be sure to bring appropriate day/night wear.
Biggar is a historic market town, Coulter has great walks and an excellent old pub - The Mill Inn. The woodland around the bothy has many species of birds including sparrowhawks and firecrest wrens, the occasional fox and regular visits from deer.
  • Our 2nd visit as we loved it so much.

    Laura2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay. Feel cleansed of modern day stresses. A lovely off grid reset.

    Shane2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The bothy is lovely, lots of nice touches and very cosy! Thank you Merlin!

    Katie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the bothy in the February snow. Despite this, once the log burner was going it was toasty warm inside and we had a fabulous, relaxing stay.

    Chris2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Bothy is a beautiful, quiet place to get away and relax! Even in February, with the stove it’s warm in the evenings ! The hosts were welcoming and had prepared instructions and handy tips for every event making the stay very easy. The location is ideal for walking and exploring ! Will definitely be returning :)

    Amy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My experience at the Bothy was truly a wonderful. Beautifully situated in woods surrounded by the sounds of nature. It was a perfect time to switch off. Merlin et al made for the perfect hosts - warm, informative and responsive. I especially enjoyed the outdoor shower (exhilarating!!), burning the log fire, and the morning birds! I will certainly be returning, and highly recommend this experience!

    Kerrie2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Second visit to the bothy and it was just as relaxing as the first visit. It’s a perfect environment to switch off and forget the rest of the world. Especially useful on Friday 31st Jan @11pm.... 🙃 the space was perfect and it’s something I recommend everyone visit. I convinced my partner to use the outside shower and she loved it. Success!

    Blair2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed numerous times at the bothy and definitely prefer the winter, outdoor shower is so refreshing, trust us and dive in. Everything you need is provided for a relaxing weekend full of tranquility and washing the working week away.

There are no cooking facilities with the stove other than kettle boiling and croissant toasting! The outdoor WC has a cold water tap only but the Shower Room is gas heated hot water
We are situated next to the A702 between Biggar and Coulter, road noise is audible from the location at busy times of the day but the Hut has double glazed windows and traffic is light after 7pm.

  • Gorgeous wee hut, cosy and clean. We used it as a crash pad for a nearby wedding, but you could imagine a few nights here being a complete tonic for life's stresses. Great hosts too. Can't fault it.

  • We had a lovely stay at the gardeners hut. Very cosy in a beautiful landscape. Merlin was a great host. Replied very quickly and had some good recommondations of what to do in the neighbourhood.

  • Lovely and well set up.

    Kay2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights and loved every minute of it! The fire kept us super toasty, and never once felt cold, despite it being freezing outside. The interior of the hut and outdoor shower room are unique and really lovely and was way beyond our expectations! Upon arrival, Merlin filled us in on the area and we enjoyed the great suggestions for dinner. Definitely want to visit again!

    Stephanie2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay in the Shepherd’s Hut. A cosy and comfortable space which was thoughtfully equipped and finished to a lovely standard. The shower and stove were hot and kept us warm despite snowy December weather. Merlin was close to hand and was kind and helpful when we needed some extra kindling and even left us a Christmas wreath on the door. We most enjoyed our wintery hill walk at Coulter Fell and the local fish and chip shop. Will be recommending to friends and family and planning our return trip in spring!

    Kate2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay in the shepherd’s hut and wish I could have stayed for longer than one night. I was worried it might be a bit cold in the middle of December but the little wood burning stove kept it toasty warm. Would gladly stay again.

Gorgeous cosy flat in a quiet peaceful neighbourhood. Only moved in 9 months ago so everything is modern and freshly decorated. You will have the whole flat and all the amenities to yourself. There are also double and single blow up beds available if required. I will be staying close by during your stay to help with any enquiries; if I'm not available one of my family will be. Close to M74. 5 min drive to Biggar, 15 to Lanark and New Lanark, 40 to Peebles, 1 hour to both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
You will have the whole flat to yourself.
Symington is a lovely quiet little village nestled in the Scottish countryside. There is a good swing park a few minutes walk from my flat. There is also a well-stocked convenience store and post office about 10 minutes walk away. There are 2 gorgeous country hotels within a few minutes drive which serve lovely meals - Tinto Hotel and award-winning Cornhill Castle. For those who love the outdoors Tinto hill walking trail is just a few minutes drive away and can be seen from my living room window! The river Clyde is also close by.
  • Its a lovely clean, quiet space. You wont be disappointed!

  • We felt very at home at Jacqueline’s flat. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable, had everything you need for a stay away from home in a very quiet location and we would highly recommend it. Thanks Jacky.

    Eileen2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • I had Jacquelines home to myself, it was like staying ‘home from home’ thank you.

    Andrew2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful one night stay here for a friends wedding at nearby Cornhill Castle. Jacqueline and her daughter welcomed us to the property and showed us how everything worked. Little touches like milk and eggs made a huge difference to how welcome we felt. It was so clear how much pride she takes in her property as it was immaculately clean and so well presented, with very stylish and well thought-out decor. Can't recommend highly enough!

    Iona2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, roomy and tidy flat, everything you need. A much loved space....even views at the back of the house towards Tinto Hill. Quiet area.

    Marilyn2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Have just finished a week long stay at Jacqueline's beautiful apartment. A lovely place set in teh borders countryside but still and easy drive to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Apartment was spotlessly clean, Jacqueline was quick to respond to the queries we had and went out of her way to ensure we could extend our stay without difficulty when it was required. All in very happy with everything and will gladly recommend to others.

My place is close to art and culture, shops, and bistro cafes, family-friendly activities, public transport to Glasgow city centre [6 minutes by train], buses close by, + 15 mins walk to Underground. Also several small and large parks are close by. You’ll love the flat because of the comfy bed, the high ceilings, the kitchen, and the cosiness. The room is good for solo adventurers and business travellers. Female guests only please.
Private, quiet and ample single bedroom space. Comfy single bed too. Access to front and back garden, both with benches = good for a relaxation in sun in summer time.
Quiet residential neighbourhood, close to cafes and small shops for all basics, to public transport, and to parks.

Quiet cosy retreat set in an idyllic location with stunning views. Ideal for walking, cycling, bird watching or simply to get away from it all. We are only 20 minutes drive from M74 junction 13 so ideal as a stop over on the way to the Highlands. A much nicer option than a hotel, having a flat and facilities rather than just a room. Sorry no pets allowed. Please note there is no mobile phone signal or WIFI at the property.
Within walking distance of Coulter Fell and Tinto hill is 15 minutes drive. We are only 7 miles from the historic market town of Biggar with many restaurants, cafes, pubs and independent shops. Edinburgh is within easy reach, 40 minutes drive.
  • No matter how nice this place looks on photo’s they don’t do it justice, the scenery is amazing and paul was an excellent host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again. The flat was very tidy and had everything we needed for our short stay.

  • Had a nice weekend at this lovely little cottage. Lots of nice thought full touches. Even a bed for the dogs. Close to high st but very quiet and peaceful. Martin stays next door but only seen him when he popped round to make sure everything was ok.

    Lorna2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute perfect break in the most idyllic little cottage. Communication with host was excellent, nothing was a bother and we were made to feel very welcome. Absolutely immaculate home, amazing value. We’d rush back to it in a heart beat. Thank you for having us.

    Laura2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Dark Sky Cottage is such a treasure! So clean and beautifully decorated, it's the perfect cozy getaway in a lovely area. Martin was very quick to answer any questions and provided great recommendations of area amenities. (We took his suggestion to eat at Brodies and it's fabulous - the food is amazing and they're super accommodating of dogs and babies.) Martin also provided a bed for our dog and offered to set up a travel cot for our baby. When we arrived at the cottage there were chocolate bars waiting in two little tea mugs for us which was a nice surprise, and Martin had also left us some croissants and jam and milk in the fridge, which was thoughtful. The kitchen is full of all the cutlery and cookware you could need, the heating works well, the whole place is spotless and located centrally to all sorts of shops and restaurants, and amazing hill walks start just a short drive away. The icing on the cake is the night sky - just step out the front door and you're in the perfect spot for incredible views. I definitely recommend a stay at Dark Sky Cottage.

    Danielle2020-01-19T00:00:00Z

Come and relax at this great space with Sauna, Steam room, gym and Aga. Is set next to 2 acres of private garden with swings and space for parking. Centre of Moffat town is only a 4/5 minute walk away from this quiet, beautiful rural location. It is great for children and you can park your car right next to the entrance. It is gated and you can close the gate if you want.
  • Lovely flat. Clean and had everything we needed. Sauna and steam room were fantastic. Short walk into lovely wee town. Drinks in the star bar. Lively local. Chinese takeaway which was tasty. Would totally recommend. Great communication with hosts. Will be back

  • The flat was just as described and is located in a very quiet area. Some lovely walks around Moffat and I would recommend Grey Mare’s Tail, which is just up the road. The waterfall is beautiful and we were fortunate enough to carry on up to Loch Skeen in the snow. The facilities available were great and I would certainly entertain a return visit. Would have no hesitation in recommending.

Easy checkin, quick walk to Brodies for dinner and gin lounge for drinks, the Rumbling Tum for delicious breakfast Will definitely be back. .

  • Luke & AnnaMarie’s place is absolutely amazing for a relaxing getaway - wonderful kitchen with Aga for cooking a nice meal, gas fire, steam room & sauna right there in the self-contained flat for use at your leisure, TV with multiple box options, lots of space, clean, bright - the works! We had our privacy which was nice for a valentines retreat, and all of the instructions compiled in a little booklet and available via the app answered all our queries simply & easily - even for complicated appliances (sauna & steam room, remote control fire, Aga). A short stay for us so didn’t have the chance to explore the lovely gardens/grounds - but they & the town of Moffat made for a lovely getaway setting. Would gladly return for a longer stay!

Built 3 years ago the apartment is wheelchair accessible throughout, with all mod cons including wet floor shower room. Views from the property are tranquil which reflects the peacefulness of our semi-rural neighbourhood We are only 1 minute off the Glasgow Southern orbital and 5 mins from the M77. You can get to Stranraer in 90 minutes and Edinburgh or Stirling in less than an hour. Eaglesham is a beautiful village and is served by a frequent bus service direct to Glasgow city centre.
Guests are welcome to use all rooms in our self- contained apartment and may also enjoy our garden. There is a river at the bottom of the garden and we have the fishing rights so why not bring a fishing rod... There is wheelchair access to the garden and all paths are wheelchair friendly.

Charming cottage all on ground floor- totally self-contained with own front door. It has a pretty patio area with bistro table and chairs to enjoy in good weather. Situated just 30 minutes from Edinburgh, 40 minutes from Glasgow and within easy reach of the Scottish Borders, the cottage makes the perfect base for exploring. Yet, despite its proximity to these key tourist attractions, the accommodation enjoys a quiet, rural location in South Lanarkshire, close to Carnwath, Biggar and Lanark.
Ampherlaw Farmhouse's lovingly restored and converted barns, dating from the 19th century, now provide luxury self catering accommodation for 2 people, making it the ideal country retreat for a relaxing holiday or romantic escape to the countryside. The accommodation has been tastefully converted in keeping with its Listed Building status, with thick, Scottish sandstone walls and traditional wooden sash and case windows . The cottage comprises an enormous double bedroom with two armchairs by the woodburning stove within the bedroom, a big ensuite bathroom with bath and overhead shower, a huge dining room furnished with antiques and a fully equipped kitchen. All bed linen, towels and bathrobes are provided by us (changed weekly for longer stay guests), and the price includes all heating, electricity and linens, a welcome pack of local produce such as milk, bread, butter, eggs, fruit and biscuits, along with tea, coffee, sugar and fresh orange juice, as well as a starter pack of logs, coal and kindling for the stove.
Set in beautiful rural Lanarkshire and with stunning views over Tinto hill, Ampherlaw Cottage is perfectly peaceful, yet within easy reach of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and the Scottish Borders.
  • This cottage is absolutely beautiful. It is so comfortable and cosy, with a well equipped modern kitchen, a beautiful formal dining room, and a lovely bedroom/sitting room with a log burner. The Wi-fi works really well too. Location is beautiful, out in the countryside but not far from Lanark and other towns and is a perfect base for exploring the region. We would highly recommend it.

1 bedroom apartment, just renovated and in excellent condition. New Kitchen. 1 Double Bedroom, and Sofa Bed in the living room.
Images are of actual flat with exception of the image with the TV and the Sofa. Both images are of neighbouring flat (which I live in) - the sofa and TV for the actual flat on Air BnB hadn't arrived when taking photographs.
Cambusnethan is a desirable area on the outskirts of Wishaw. The apartment is situated in a private housing estate built in the 1980's by Wimpey and has great views to the rear, sitting 15 metres back from the street at the front. There is private parking, and a rear garden with plenty space to sit outside and relax or even eat al fresco (weather dependent of course).

  • We had a very restful couple of week’s at Archie’s flat during the Christmas-New Year period. It was great to find this place, in an area without many Air BnB choices. The flat is very well located – shops and takeaway restaurants are close by, and there’s easy highway or train access to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Flat is very clean and comfortable, ideal for one or two travelers. All our communication was handled quickly and usually in person. We recommend this as a great place to stay!

Enjoy countryside walks around the village, a freshly made pie in the local bakery or how about a round of golf in Carnwaths 18 hole golf club. All within minutes walk from the door of Country Nest. For the fisherman, grab a permit in the pub next door and venture out to the river Clyde for the day. For the more adventurous take a trip to Edinburgh and Glasgow, both only 30-40 mins away on the train. Nearby the historic towns of Biggar and Lanark are only 15min drive away.
  • We had an excellent stay at Ian's place in Carnwath. It's a lovely cottage with so many nice touches in a great village. Would certainly stay again.

  • Positives - gorgeous and comfortable home from home, cosy beds, excellent facilities in bathroom and kitchen and lounge and dining room are comfortable and relaxing Negatives - really not too many! Main road so parking is a little tricky and it’s a fast road so watch if you have little ones and the front door is dirty because of it. (Ian and Kat can’t change this stuff just FYI for anyone booking!) We loved our stay and found everything that we needed easily and the host communicated fast and clearly with me. Will definitely book again!

Indulge the senses in the light and airy vibe of this converted space. The home features an open-plan layout, chic furnishings and decor, neutral earth tones, wood flooring throughout, and countryside views.
The Coachhouse is cosy and quiet. It has its own entrance and is completely separate from the main house. There is a private gated courtyard that guests are also welcome to use. Only 5 minutes from East Kilbride and 20 minutes from Glasgow but surrounded by fields and countryside
The property is only a couple of minutes from the village of Carmunnock, a pretty conservation village and the only official village left in Glasgow. There is a local shop, pharmacy, and an excellent restaurant in the town.
  • Had a lovely stay, communicated very well. Place was very clean and tidy.

  • Our stay was very positive and lovely. It was super easy to get into Glasgow by the 31 bus from Carmunnock. Everything was easy to use and we felt at home in the place. Emma gave us a lot of privacy which was nice, but was also there to help if anything went wrong. I would recommend this stay for anyone who wants a quiet weekend away or a comfortable stay somewhere for business or leisure :)

  • We loved our two-night stay in this super-cute, cosy, comfortable and private garden cottage. It is equipped with a little fridge with fresh milk, and there was plenty of tea and coffee. Just lying in the very comfortable bed with a view of the garden whilst watching tv, with the log burner on was a treat. The shower is fantastic and is complete with quality Scottish toiletries. Thank you Steve and Maura

Our shepherd hut is set in it's own private garden on the farm with wonderful views towards the Pentland Hills. At one end there is a a double bed that converts to a settee during the day and at the other there is an ensuite shower room.
"Shepherds Rest" is our newly completed shepherds hut and provides tasteful, luxurious accommodation with a difference. It has an ensuite shower room, a settee by day that folds into a double bed at night and a small cooking area with hob and a small fridge. The hut is a work of art, superbly insulated, beautifully crafted and based on the original 19th century Victorian shepherd's hut. It makes for the ideal hideaway and rural retreat taking you back in time for a truly relaxing and unique place to stay. The views from the shepherds hut are breathtaking: it has a wonderful position on the organic farm of South Cobbinshaw overlooking the Pentland Hills and Cobbinshaw Loch. The 310 acre loch was built in 1818 to feed the Union Canal and was also used by passing steam trains to collect water. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSI) due to wintering wildfowl and is popular with anglers and birdwatchers. For those who enjoy the outdoors but would like to take it a bit easier, fishing on the loch can be organised for you. Nearby Harburn Golf Club is a challenging 18-hole parkland course and there are walks of all levels starting literally on your doorstep, taking in stunning scenery and fascinating history. If shopping and attractions are your thing - the designer shops of Livingston are 15 minutes away and unique little shops and galleries are found in Biggar and Peebles. Not far away is New Lanark World Heritage Village. Surrounded by beautiful native woodland and close to the Falls of Clyde, the 200 year old cotton mill village is Scotland's most important memorial to the Industrial Revolution. Take a stroll along the riverside on one of the woodland walks and experience the outstanding beauty the Falls of Clyde - where the River Clyde cascades 85ft. For those who like to travel a bit further afield the scenic splendours of the Borders, Perthshire, Fife, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are all within easy reach and make for great day trips.
Beautiful loch and hill views over green fields.
  • Absolutely beautiful location. Very cosy hut with everything we needed. Really fast communication too.

  • Cosy nest for two! We stayed for just one night and had a lovely evening with an incredibly warm space and stunning views even from inside. Lots of nice spaces for wee walks if you don't want to go too far, plus the sheep and chicken wandering about will keep you company! Bit hard to get to (we took a taxi from the station) but definitely worth it. Would recommend it to anyone for a getaway from the bustle of the city!

    Lakshmi2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The hut over looks an amazingly pristine landscape with lakes either side, really refreshing to wake up to. Plus the owner have a very friendly and excitable dog. Amazing place to stay

    Alex2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little overnight if you’re looking to chill. Forgot a phone charger and our hosts let us borrow one and also gave me a text on the day to check I wasn’t lost as I got there after the check in time. I noticed they had some birthday bunting in a picture and I asked if this could be put up which they did. Not anywhere near as cold as what I thought it would be in November either!

    Sarah2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A unique, cosy, comfortable, surprisingly spacious and beautiful Shepherds Hut. Something completely different and very romantic too!!! Lynda was excellent in dealing with our booking and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as amazing as it was. We weren’t sure about cooking/facilities from the description - however there is a single job, microwave, kettle and fridge in the hut. We would highly recommend this property.

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). The property is ideally situated for commuting to Glasgow and Edinburgh. The flat is close to restaurants, bars shops and fast food. Being in Motherwell centre it had has access to local amenities, leisure facilities including the Aquatec Complex, Pure Gym and local education facilities. Strathclyde Country park and North Lanarkshire Civic Centre and Theatre are all close by.
A modern and spacious ground floor flat provides all home comforts with the bonus of being 2 minutes walk from shops and all main amenities close by. Tea coffee and biscuits provided. Travel cot and high chair available on request.
  • This was one of the best self-catering places I've stayed in, and I've stayed in dozens! Absolutely spotlessly clean, modern, well appointed with thoughtful touches like tea, coffee, fresh milk and orange juice in the fridge plus the basics in the cupboard like salt, pepper, vinegar etc. Absolutely brilliant contact with Sue and she very kindly let me get in early as I arrived in the morning on the night train. First class all round, thoroughly recommended.

  • We stayed in Sue’s brilliant apartment for nearly 3 weeks. We had to leave our own house due to water damage under our bath but the apartment was a haven for us to escape to. We had to extend our stay three times due to works overrunning, Sue couldn’t be more helpful in making our stay relaxed. Apartment was very comfortable with everything you could want, lovely bathroom with fantastic shower. Area very quiet and very close to all amenities. Less than a minute walk to local restaurants. We would certainly stay there again and have no issues in recommending this apartment. Fantastic host, Fantastic place.

  • This is an amazing cottage, in the most convenient of places, central to everywhere. It is full of character (which I love) and so comfortable, perfect to relax at the end of a busy day. I loved the little touches, such as milk in the fridge, tea / coffee / sugar, always the things I forget to pick up on my first day were all provided. We were very impressed and would definitely book this cottage again on our next visit.

    Tracy2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • A very pleasant stay in Biggar and we would thoroughly recommend this cottage for 2 people if you are in the area. It had everything you needed. A supermarket just down the road, pubs and restaurants close by. Hilary made us very welcome and the little extras like tea and coffee provided were useful on our arrival. A lovely comfortable bed with an electric blanket if needed. We didn't on this stay. The bathroom is a little on the small side but it was perfectly adequate. If we ever need to stay in Biggar again we know where we would book.

    June2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful, stylish and super comfortable home Hilary has made for her guests! We absolutely loved staying in Ferniehaugh Cottage and wish we could have stayed longer than three days. Really comfortable bed and excellent shower. The cottage was immaculately kept and a half-minute walk to the beginning of Biggar's quaint main business street with its very pleasant choices of shops, a really close-by supermarket, two museums, various places for coffee and pastries, a few really good restaurants, and a beautiful 15th century church. Hilary has thought of everything to make her guests' stay as comfortable as possible. If you'd like, she will make recommendations for what to see and do while you're in Biggar. There are also many guide books and pamphlets available. If you need to do a laundry, there's a washing machine in the kitchen and Hilary will show you how to dry your clothes using a most ingenious device. Also, even if you are not tea drinkers, you must just boil some water in her electric tea kettle and see what happens. You won't believe your eyes! We were thrilled that we chose to stay at Ferniehaugh Cottage and very grateful to Hilary for making our stay absolutely perfect.

  • Hilary’s place was exactly as the advert described. Cottage was very clean, cosy and warm. Everything needed for a great stay was provided. Hilary was friendly, helpful and prompt at replying. Would thoroughly recommend staying here!

  • Very cosy and comfy wee cottage - everything here you could need, including all the little things you always mean to bring but usually forget...tea, coffee, sugar, basic cooking ingredients...Great location in a quiet street but only a couple of minutes’ walk from Biggar’s lovely main street which has a good variety of shops and an unexpectedly generous choice of places to eat out. Just one point to note - many of the local museums are only open from Easter. Would definitely recommend and will certainly return!

  • We were a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 2. The cottage was incredibly spacious and was furnished to a high standard. It had everything we needed and the kids loved the space. The cottage is remote which was great-nearest supermarket is probably around 15 miles away. Location wise it's not too far away from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Had a great day out at the Falls of the Clyde which is about 40mins away in New Lanark. All in all we had a great stay and would highly recommend the cottage-fantastic value for money. We're sure to be back.

  • Large, well laid-out and well-equipped cottage in a lovely rural location. We were a family with children 7 and 5. Had a lovely time and will be back!

  • Lovely property in a great location for day trips to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Very clean, warm and great facilities.

    John2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cottages were very well styled, comfortable furniture and extremely clean and located in some of the most beautiful country I've seen. Fantastic place to relax and get away.

    Brenda2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • One of the ever best cottage to stay and relax. Most enjoyable and awesome place for holiday. We wish to visit again in future.....

    Dilip2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Even better than it looks in pictures. Showers are tricky to use correctly, and the location might be better for those who want isolation rather than a good base. Incredibly comfortable, warm and clean.

    James2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything absolutely perfect. Great house and a beautiful landscape. Even if the house is a bit out of the way it is absolutely worth it. Everything in great condition and viral clean. Can you warmly recommend it and we would book again anytime.

  • Great sized room, very handy for transport and nice places to eat and drink in the neighbourhood. Hugh is a friendly, welcoming host too.

    Rebecca2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Hugh's place is realy lovely and he's a kind and thoughtful host. We had easy access to the flat and it is very cale and tidy. I loved the wooden floors and the flowering plants in particular. The area has lots of good food outlets and resturants for foodies within walking distance and intersting parks. Walking locally to places gave us a good idea of the places to see. The area is blessed with regular trains and buses. A 10 min journey to Glasgow Central and out on to countryside another 20/30mins.

  • What a beautiful room. I'm jealous of Hughs lovely spacious renovated flat. Thanks do much Hugh.

    Renee2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • I returned to Hugh’s flat again and really enjoy his kind and thoughtful hosting in a light and airy tenement flat very well placed for town and public transport. We love the Pollockshields and Govanhill areas which have lots of interesting cafes and pubs where you get a flavour of real Glasgow. The Tramway arts centre is nearby as are several mosques and a welcoming community. Can’t wait to return! Many thanks, Hugh.

    Barbara2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The room was very light and airy and the flat was very clean and quite spacious. It's located on a quiet street and is only about a mile from downtown, so it's still close enough to walk or Uber. Great price for a great place!

Enter through a grand staircase to a light-filled and cozy attic conversion. The flat features original fixtures like nooks built into the walls and a porthole above the two person roll-top Victorian-style tub, accented by homey, eclectic furniture.
Clean, bright, nicely-appointed, homely, quirky and stylish flat. The flat feels cosy and neat due to being up in the roof space and yet the rooms are large enough to relax in. The first impression is bright and spacious because of the grand entrance staircase and landing, giving a real sense of room to breathe with a splash of height, light and glamour. The property features some original characteristics like dockets and nooks built into the walls, a serving hatch between the kitchen/living room and a porthole in the bathroom below the two person roll-top Victorian imitation bath. Please note that the apartment is built into our building’s roof space, those of a taller nature should be mindful of their heads on the lower hanging roof joists. We strive to be as sustainable as possible and have recently upgraded our central heating control with Tadoº, an online heating system which allows you to access our heating via our app from anywhere, at any time. The Tadoº Smart Climate Assistant features improves your comfort whilst reducing energy consumption. We have also sourced a 100% renewable electricity supplier (who also sullies 10% renewable gas for the heating and hot water). All new light bulbs (and the majority of installed bulbs) are low energy. Even our kettle is able to boil just one cup of water. We also have a new smart TV with Netflix subscription for cosy nights in and a networked speaker so that you can play your music from your phone, laptop or tablet.
The flat is on a quiet street in the Southside, a quick train ride from the centre of town. Catch a football match at Hampden Park, 15 minutes' walk away. Nearby, Victoria Road and Pollokshields road are bursting with grocers and independent cafes.
  • Ken’s house is really beautifl. Everything is perfect. They prepared milk for us, the tablewares are clean and designable. Wish I can come here again!

  • A wonderful stay! I highly recommend. I have stayed in many AirBnBs before but this was one of the best by far. Thoughtful details, a very warm welcome, a green approach... everything was made to make you feel welcome right away. Thoughtful details and very friendly and quick service/communication. The rooms are spacious and beds comfortable, many, many amenities in the kitchen, and a very clean bathroom. The house is located in a quaint and quiet neighbourhood, a few steps from Queen’s Park and easily walkable to surrounding neighbourhoods where there are great cafés and, at 5km, the city centre. I would come back!

A great traditional Glasgow ground floor tenement flat situated in the friendly Pollokshields area. Spacious, quiet room at the back. Lively area with a few great local cafes and eateries. The flat is approximately one and a half miles from the city centre with a very easy train link close by (one stop, takes 5 minutes). There are also other transport links within walking distance that will take you to the Westend and other areas/venues in the city.
Welcome to my well-kept, ground-floor traditional tenement flat - your home from home.
I love this area - it is both vibrant and quiet - very community focused, diverse and lively. The surrounding neighbourhood is very beautiful and green, with lovely old architecture and lots of trees. Nearby are local parks and some great cafes/bars.
  • Easy to get to and close to Central Glasgow. Communication was really good and the room and facilities were nice. Good value 👍 had to leave at 5am to the airport so had to book a cab it cost £17.00 I used Supreme Private hire Airport transfers... Really good service too. Thanks Nichola!

  • We had a perfect stay at Nichola's place! Everything was very uncomplicated (communication, check-in/out, ...). Nichola has a lovely & clean apartment in a very nice & quiet part of Glasgow and still centrally located (just one stop from Glasgow Central). Our room was spacious and clean. Thanks for also offering us a simple breakfast, coffee & tea and always having some advices! We loved staying there and would definitely come there again for some more relaxed days in Glasgow.

    Nadia2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely big room with a double bed, chair and desk & chair. Food shops are nearby and Nichola being a great host, has local tips for eating out. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood with good transport links to the city.

    Iain2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nichola has an attractive ground floor tenement flat with a bedroom for Airbnb guests with shared bathroom next door. The room was comfortable and warm, the welcome genuine, the wifi fast and the hot water reliable! Nichola invited me to make tea and have a simple breakfast at hers, for which I was most grateful. Cleanliness was outstanding and I was glad of the loan of her hairdryer after my haircut! I hope to return to Nichola’s home on my next visit to my daughter who lives nearby. Highly recommended host and Airbnb facilities.
