Our vintage shabby-chic one bedroom Victorian flat, with breathtaking, panoramic sea views across the English Channel, is only minutes from the beach and picturesque Old Town, with its boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, bric-a-brac shops, cafes and bars. Follow us on Instagram on: @flatwithbreathtakingseaviews
The Flat: An elegant 1 bedroom flat with unobstructed, panoramic sea views across the West Hill Common, the East Hill Nature Reserve and the English Channel. Boasting dark wooden floors throughout, an open marble fire place, high ceilings, tastefully decorated in vintage seaside charm, making it a very attractive and convenient one-bedroom holiday apartment to suit 2 (or 4) people. Bedroom: Has a relaxing and extremely comfortable double bed with plenty of light during the day and black-out curtains at night. The bedroom has two windows, facing the back of the house, which are double glazed, allowing you to have a quiet nights sleep. There are a selection of books and magazines to read on the vast shelves of the bedroom (please leave the books and magazines in the flat, or have a chat with me about borrowing any, if you are too engrossed in a story to leave it behind ;-) A cot bed can be provided for babies/ toddlers, with prior warning. Just outside the bedroom, you will find an iron and ironing board as well as a useful umbrella for those rainy English days, and a sun tent to protect the little ones when it's too hot on the beach. In this same cupboard you can find a laundry hanger, a wooden baby's high chair, a Henry Hoover, mop, broom and a wicker mat for the beach. Living Room: With a gorgeous grey marble fireplace as its centrepiece and TRULY unobstructed breathtaking sea views across the West Hill, East Hill and English Channel. The living room also benefits from a double sofa bed, to cater an additional two people. I have also provided a wicker basket of children's toys, to entertain little ones, should they also be our guests and a backgammon/chess set, plus Trivial Pursuit for "bigger kids". A retro DAB radio - with iPod/iPhone dock - can be found on the "gramophone", to add a bit of ambience to your stay (and charge up your iPhones). There is also a selection of magazines, for your browsing pleasure, in the magazine rack. (Please leave the books and magazines in the flat) *Please note there is NO TELEVISION in the flat... although there is an active TV license so you can enjoy all licensed channels on laptops, iPads and other mobile devices. Kitchen: A tidy and intimate kitchen, with gorgeous reclaimed teak work surfaces, which benefits from a washer/dryer, fridge, double oven, 4 hob gas cooker and all the conveniences of a modern home. You can find a kettle, toaster, hand blender, a wide selection of glasses, mugs, plates and vases as well as a few cook books to inspire you (if you are thinking of eating in). A selection of "Take Away" menus can be found on the rack in the hallway - If you are a fan of Indian food Jali is a favourite of ours. Under the sink you will be able to find any cleaning products you may need during your stay. A fire extinguisher (in case of fire) is located to the left of the kitchen, on the counter. Next to the kettle you will find an "HONESTY JAR", for you to add a contribution if you break or misuse anything. Please be as generous as you feel is right to, so that guests after you can also enjoy these added perks. In the kitchen I have added a folder (grey/blue) with all my favourite places to eat, drink, see and do in Hastings. Bathroom: A light and modern bathroom, with toilet, sink, bathtub and hand held shower. Body soap, shampoo/conditioner can be found here too. In the bathroom you will also find a small first aid kit, in case of bumps and grazes (and in case of Hair Emergencies, a Vidal Sassoon full power hair dryer, a curling wand and BabyBliss travel hair straighteners can be found in the bedroom on top of the red cupboard). Recently, I have ensured that all beauty products (Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, Hand Soap, Washing Up Liquid etc...) provided in my property are Vegan, Organic, Chemical & Sulphate Free. FAITH IN NATURE is the company that ticks all the boxes, and I purchase their products in bulk (which I then use to refill the glass jars in the bathroom and kitchen). I have done this to play my part in reducing my (our) plastic, waste, chemical consumption & impact on the environment - as well as the more obvious animal welfare issues, which I feel passionate about. www.faithinnature.co.uk The flat also uses 100% renewable energy, from a company called Bulb (who provides 100% of its electricity generated from Wind, Solar and Hydroelectrics). The flat is situated in one of the best, prime spots of Hastings, making it an ideal "home from home" location to enjoy this picturesque town to its full. It is also convenient should you wish to visit historic Battle, picture perfect Rye, the sandy beaches of Camber, quaint Winchelsea or enjoy a show at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. During certain local festivities - like the Jack in the Green Festival in May and Bonfire Night in October - our flat is in an ideal spot! You will be able to enjoy the parades and firework displays from the comfort of the living room, as the flat has the PERFECT views to sample these festivities without getting lost in the crowds. Hastings Old Town is only a 5 minute walk across the West Hill common, where you will find a wide selection of restaurants, pubs, bars, cafe's, independent shops, the Jerwood Art Gallery, the Electric Palace Cinema (an independent cinema), award winning fish 'n' chip shops, fabulous bric 'a' brac stalls, antiques stores and of course... the beach... with all its attractions. You can easily walk to the main Town Centre (10 minutes), where you can find Priory Meadow Shopping Centre and enjoy a wide selection of shops (including the usual suspects like M&S, H&M, Topshop...), supermarkets, banks, the White Rock Theatre, the Odeon Cinema and Hastings Pier. Hastings train station is only a 15 minute walk away and easily accessible on foot. Taxi's are always available outside the station or you can ring 24/7 Taxi's to book one ahead of your arrival.
  • Bindu's apartment is a great base to visit several places on the south coast. It has a lovely view out to sea to enjoy over any meal. Easy to walk into town....though uphill on the way back! The flat is very well equipped with literally everything you will need and decor and furnishings are sympathetic to its era....we loved it.

  • The apartment is much bigger in person then it appears in the photos and it was very clean. Everything was thoughtful with the customer's needs as a priority. Chad (co-host) was there at check-in and he ensured I understood the TV, the cooker, the heating, etc. He was really warm and welcoming. The apartment had all the amenities I needed to have a comfortable and relaxing stay.

    Chloe2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I got in late and Chad was there to greet us and show us around. Wonderful person. The place is very relaxing, I was able to take a bath, we cooked comfortably in the kitchen and in the morning we had a beautiful sunny view of the Ocean! I wish we booked two nights- that is my suggestion!

  • This is a beautiful and large space, with the living area and bedroom being particularly gorgeous. The kitchen is smallish but lovely if you don't want to cook anything too fancy. It has a microwave/oven which is pretty smart. Rachel is a friendly, helpful and very charming host. We chose it as a special place at the end of our trip and it did not disappoint.

  • Perfect! Great place :)

    Edwin2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a long weekend in the sea view flat. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Erik was very accommodating giving us great advice for the fire hills walk which was slightly easier for me being pregnant. The use of the hot tub and indoor heated pool was a welcome delight after our days out to Hastings and Bodiam Castle. Would definitely recommend!

    Leah2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I are not really ones for returning to the same place twice. However, with Chris's place we found ourselves both saying that we would love to come back here again sometime. I think that says it all.

    Charlotte2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely venue, lovely area and lovely stay!!

    Daniel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's place is at a fantastic Kent location with plenty of scenic walks. The flat had everything you could possibly think of. There was milk in the fridge, cakes and other snacks and fresh flowers and fruit were a nice touch. Chris and Erik were great hosts, gave us lots of advice on local walks and restaurants, nothing was too much trouble. We had a great stay and would recommend.

  • This is my second stay here and loved it once again! I took my mum and dogs this time and the hosts were so accommodating! They provided us with covers for the sofas and beds so the dogs could stay comfortably! We loved the trips to the pool and hot tub! So relaxing! The local walks were amazing and the dogs were overjoyed with the huge fields and muddy puddles! A handy hose is just outside the flat so great to wash the dogs after a walk! All in all an amazing stay with thoughtful touches and handy information from the hosts!

Rainbow Studio is on a farm situated in a most peaceful valley (AONB) with beautiful scenery providing an amazing sense of space. Rye is within 10 minutes drive providing access to restaurants, dining and culture, Winchelsea Beach and Camber Sands. Bodiam Castle is 15 minutes drive and Hastings Town 20 minutes. We have direct access to footpaths to explore the most stunning countryside and enjoy close local watering holes. The Studio is good for couples and solo adventurers for tranquil privacy.
Rainbow Studio is located down a long private farm lane helping you to escape the hustle and bustle of the modern world. It is a relatively unknown part of the south east of England, but the valley in which the studio is located is renowned as one of the most beautiful in the area by the locals (which we tend to keep a secret!). Although a rural location, The Kings Head pub is 15 minutes walk away or The Plough is 5 minutes drive. Rye is a short drive away which offers something for everyone. Although limited kitchen facilities, there is a BBQ available for your own use so you can make the most of the setting too.
The Studio is situated on an Idyllic farm in one of the most beautiful valleys. The neighbourhood is mainly full on nature with the bird chorus waking you up rather than any road noise. If you are looking for a country retreat, this is the place for you.
  • Beautiful place; the studio is lovely and modern; I absolutely loved the decor and the bed is comfy. Penny and Nigel were great responding to all our questions, and had a warm welcome from them on arrival. The studio overlooks a peaceful valley, was great to open the door in the morning and the sheep grazing. Lots of birds singing too. It was my husband’s Birthday and was a great decision to spend it here. Loved the fresh flowers on the table. The kitchen is in great order and is very functional. The place is warm and super-cosy; we had the control of the two radiators; and the shower is nice and warm too - important this time of the year. The location is perfect for exploring nearby towns and attractions - we visited Rye and Rye Harbour the day before, and went to Bodiam Castle next day, both are a short drive away. Highly recommended!

  • We had a lovely stay here. Very comfortable studio with fantastic views.

    Paula2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Penny and Nigels studio is a small jewel! Everything needed can be found in the beautifully decorated house and we would never expect to find such a splendid spacious bathroom in a smaller studio. The bed is extremely comfy! Beyond that the surrounding is breathtaking, completely quiet and rural. You will have an own lawn with BBQ as your own private garden where two or three extremely friendly dogs will say hello to you. Thanks Penny and Nigel, this is how Airbnb should be!

    Stefan2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay! Everything a good AirBnB should be. Such a refreshing change from hotels. The view (from the sofa) is a study in great mindfulness

    Tristian2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Penny and Nigel have a beautiful house where you can stay. The room looks over a beautiful landscape. Beside that it's close to the nice little city Rye. And of course Penny and Nigel are verry polite and helpful. An amazing stay!

    Steyn2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was an absolutely wonderful stay at Nigel‘s and Penny‘s farm! The studio, the fireplace, the dogs, the people, the stunning view - simply perfect for a great time to calm down. Even fresh flowers from the garden and self baked bread as a welcoming gift - simply lovely! We definitely recommend this place and will be back soon :-)

    Lara2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing property set away from any noise in the middle of the countryside - idyllic. Wonderful hosts that provide fresh bread and eggs for breakfast (along with other things). The attractions, cafes and pubs in Hastings will entertain all ages. This beautiful historic town dates back to at least the 8th century, but flint arrowheads & Bronze Age artefacts have also been found from prehistoric settlements. Hastings is one of Britain's oldest fishing ports. Boats have worked from the beach in front of the ancient town for over a thousand years. You can buy freshly caught fish direct from the fishermen's shop. The Old Town is where all the fun happens, located around the fishing port with lots of amusements, tourist attractions, history to explore and the quirky boutique and antique shops in George Street. Otherwise head over to the large Priory Meadow Shopping Centre. Very unique to the area, you can go search the local shoreline cliffs for dinosaur bones and fossils, especially good at Covehurst Bay. A visit to the ancient village of Rye and Camber Sands in a must.
  • Just had a lovely stay in the Badgers Den. Would definitely return & recommend to others. The hosts had excellent communication, were friendly & thoughtful but not intrusive. Lots of lovely touches, such as putting the temp of the pool up as we had a baby, fruit & flowers on arrival, etc. The house was lovely, not large but plenty big enough for 4. The whole house inc. kitchen was well equipped. The single beds were upstairs & double downstairs, fine for 2 couples or slightly older children, we were also fine as husband went upstairs with 4yo & I stayed downstairs with baby. Both bedrooms easily big enough for the travel cot. Have to also mention the water pressure was fab, so I had a lovely hot power shower which was great. The pool was great, it was the reason we booked this house and we weren’t disappointed. Good size, temp & depth so we used it every day. Also a nice touch that there were inflatables & toys. Sadly we didn’t get to use the hot tub, it was a little distance from our holiday home so we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the kids for that distance. Would have been ideal if we didn’t have the kids with us though. Location was great, lots to do around Hastings so could easily stayed for longer than the weekend that we had. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

  • Erick was amazing. We stayed as part of a 30th birthday celebration and we could not have asked for more. We sent over some room decorations and they were kindly put up for us. Which was amazing for our birthday girl who was happily surprised. Everypart of our experience exceeded our expectations. The facilities were incredible as well as the rooms, bathroom, kitchen. Every corner had a personal touch we wouldn'thave even thought we needed. One of the best places I've ever stayed. And our host Erick was charming, kind and helpful in every way. Safe to say we will be coming back in the future!

My place is close to the breathtaking views from the North Seat. Alternatively, use it as a base for exploring the South Coast: both historic Rye and trendy St Leonard's are a short drive away. Close to local amenities in Ore village. Good public transport links.. You’ll love my place because of the neighbourhood, the light, the comfy bed, the kitchen, and the cosiness. My place is good for solo adventurers, business travellers, and furry friends (pets). I do have a 6-year-old son and a lively lurcher (a dog we rescued in May 2018). She sometimes gallops round the house downstairs and occasionally makes you trip over soft toys. Just so you are aware :)
An airy room with lots of closet space in a relaxed family home. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, street noise is barely existent and guests always sleep well, even during the day. You have access to a spacious dining and working area. Unlimited wifi; printer and scanner on request. Unlimited hot drinks. We do have a lively seven-year-old who goes to bed at 8-9 pm, and a slightly nervous rescue dog who will become your friend once you have sat at the kitchen table with us and had a cup of tea. There is also a twin room available in the property.
It's leafy and quiet, with lovely neighbours and a real community spirit. Our neighbour is the leader of the local neighbourhood watch so vehicles are very safe here.

Blackthorn is a luxurious retreat for two. Attached to the owner's home, and situated on the edge of Icklesham village, the property lies halfway between the ancient towns of Rye and Hastings. There is a distant view of the sea, and the garden is surrounded by beautiful AONB countryside. The cottage has a private, south facing verandah, and guests are welcome to use the heated, indoor swimming pool and outdoor hot tub throughout their stay but exclusively between the hours of 8.00am and 8.00pm.
Blackthorn is well-appointed, with all breaks inclusive of linen and towels, electricity and heating, open wifi, free-range eggs from our hens and ducks, a Smart TV with Netflix, logs and kindling for the little wood burner in the winter months, maps and leaflets on the area, and of course exclusive access to the heated indoor pool and outdoor hot tub daily between 8AM – 8PM. There are 2 x award-winning pubs in the village, and a good range of places to eat in both Rye and Hastings, as well as nearby villages. This part of East Sussex is very special with many picturesque towns and villages, historic castles, National Trust and English Heritage properties, several steam railways, impressive country house and gardens, and stunning beaches close by.
We are situated in a rural, edge of village location in AONB countryside, with a distant view of the sea. 3 x different coastlines are close by (5 miles on average). It is a peaceful and relaxing location with no light pollution, very little road noise, and just the occasional sound of garden or farm machinery. There is no village shop but Winchelsea Farm Foods is a high class deli, butchers and general store selling newspapers, bread and milk etc a short drive away. A Co-op can be found at Winchelsea Beach a couple of miles further on.
  • We found Blackthorn to be the perfect holiday haven for couple-friendly relaxation and sighsteeing along the Sussex coast. indeed i'd return happily to write away, or bring family and friends too. It's a beautifully-kept cottage with scenic balcony, jacuzzi and pool access, set in a tranquil landscaped garden surrounded by nature and the great outdoors. Listening to the timeless birdsong in the morning and taking in the stars from the jacuzzi were magical moments, as was simply relaxing with a roaring fire with good wine and scrabble. Local places well worth exploring are charming Winchelsea, picturesque Rye (Lamb house, the Mermaid Inn for Sunday lunch and Webbes Fish bar for an evening supper) and the more vibrant Hastings. We'd love to come back soon and leave where we left off, with more walks and possibly a local wine tasting/tour (we spotted many tempting local wineries whilst out and about!). Thank you Peter and family for having us to stay in your beautiful holiday home. You were the perfect hosts!

    Tami2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this stay was perfect! We loved every minute of our stay. We will be returning in the near future. The views were amazing everywhere you looked, especially from the hot tub they were superb, couldn’t get enough of them! As mentioned we will be back!!! Lovely weekend break! You will defiantly come back feeling refreshed!

    Leah2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wish we'd had an extra day to make the most of this amazing place as well as see the local sights. It was great even on a windy February weekend due to the lovely wood-burning stove, hot-tub and indoor pool. Rye was beautiful and lots of places to visit and eat and drink! Peter is a thoughtful host, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely return - thank you.

    Corinne2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying here! The place itself is beautiful and has stunning views. The log burner, hot tub and swimming pool made our stay extra special and it was so peaceful and relaxing. Just what we needed! Peter was so helpful and gave us lots of advice about the local area and where to visit. The Prosecco and chocolates were a lovely touch too! Thank you so much!

    Danielle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Warm welcome, lovely and clean. The pool and hot tub were great even in a storm. The bed was really comfy and great things nearby. Good for if you want to see the seasides as they wasn’t too far away.

    Sophie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, lovely view, very relaxing and amazing host!

    Sabrina2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This truly was everything I had hoped for. My partner and I came hoping to star gaze one evening and was able to do so from the warmth of the hot tub. It really was everything we had dreamed about. The sights were breathtaking and it was as peaceful as it looks. Peter and his wife were so thoughtful in leaving my partner a birthday card and special drink which we enjoyed during our stay. The complimentary eggs also went down a treat in the morning before we ventured out into Rye. This was definitely one of our favourite trips and will be one we will remember for all the right, magical reasons. Highly recommend.

    Charlotte2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding stay for the weekend. Peter was more than helpful, including local tips and local attractions. Peter even added personal touches, such as posting us some information before our trip! We genuinely could not ask for more when we got there, everything was explained very clearly, and he could not be more helpful. 5* without doubt.

Located in the High Weald area of Kent which is an AONB, The Cabin at Valley View Farm is set in its own space amongst 16 acres of wood and grazing. It used to be an old hop pickers mobile home but has been lovingly restored to a modern, well presented “mini” haven. A fully self-contained cabin with open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, king size bed in bedroom and a shower room and toilet. Ideal for a couple or two singles as a Z-bed can be provided. Private outside veranda with a fire pit.
Located in the High Weald area of Kent which is an Area Of Outstanding Beauty, The Cabin at Valley View Farm is set in its own space amongst 16 acres of wood and grazing. It used to be an old hop pickers mobile home but has been lovingly restored to a modern, well presented “mini” haven. Peaceful, quiet and isolated. Private veranda with a fire-pit and a small garden where you can watch the birdlife including woodpeckers. Catch the odd glimpse of the deer in the woods. All totally isolated. It is a perfect place for couples and singles to come and get away from busy lives and there is so much to do within easy reach there is not room to attempt to list them all here. Alternatively snuggle in and watch some DVD's and have some much needed down time. Some of the attractions are the harbour town of Rye, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Hastings, Battle, Headcorn for the aerodrome and Maidstone. Too many NT and Heritage sites to list but you can easily get to Batemans, Scotney, Bodiam, Leeds and Sissinghurst Castles and Hole Park in Rolvenden which is privately owned and Great Dixter Manor and Gardens just down the road. Bedgebury Pinetum and Hempstead Woods offer fantastic walking opportunities and also cycling is a very popular hobby in the area, you can bring your own or hire one locally. There is the Bodiam Boating Centre a couple of miles away where you can take leisurely craft up to the Castle or hire a kayak and go up and down the river at a more leisurely pace. The East Sussex Vintage Steam Railway is to be found in another Cinque Port town of Tenterden which is only a 15 mins drive. The railway can take you on a 10 mile trip through the countryside and up to Bodiam. If the weather is on side Camber Sands is 30/40 minutes drive offering miles of golden coastline and Winchelsea not too far away. The village of Sandhurst is set amongst acres and acres of vineyards and hop fields. Luckily the end products can be tried and tested at nearly Chapel Down, Biddenden and Hush Heath Vineyards in Staplehurst. You also do not have to go far at all for plenty of great places to eat and drink including cafes, restaurants and old traditional country pubs. If the weather is inclement then nearby Hawkhurst (and Rye) offers a lovely boutique cinema, the Kino, where you can sit in small theatres and enjoy the latest films with a glass of wine and some sweet treats !. A fully self-contained cabin with open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, king size bed in bedroom and a shower room and toilet. Ideal for a couple or two singles as a Z-bed can be provided. The Cabin is set on one level but it has steps up to it. Lounge area has a large sofa and an electric wood burner, a flat screen TV able to play on-demand Netflix, Amazon Prime (guest own account), catch-up TV with a built-in DVD (some DVDs supplied) and a DAB radio. Dining area with two chairs and a table. Bathroom has a shower, toilet, basin and heated towel rail. Wifi included. Decked veranda with Adirondak chairs where you can sit and have breakfas.t, bird spot and see the odd deer in the woods and the ponies in the fields beyond. There is a fire pit where you can roast marshmallows and sit out under a canopy of star on a clear night. There is also a small garden area with a picnic table. The veranda looks out onto the 8 acre wood. Stunning when the bluebells are out.
Our neighbourhood is very peaceful but you do not have to go far for a multitude of sites to see and places to eat and drink. Recommendations can be given.

The Cleanliness and little touches inside the cabin make it all that much better after a long day out coming back to a very homely feel. Shops near by for anything that you may need as well as restaurants make it a great get away for whoever needs a peaceful break.

  • I was working locally and found Karen and David’s property. It is serenely peaceful, beautifully equipped, clean and comfortable. My partner joined me for a few days and we couldn’t have been made more welcome, in fact leaving today was a little sad! We are already planning another trip.

  • A beautiful rural cabin surrounded by countryside and even a beautiful little private area of forest! The perfect way to escape for a break of relaxation in the middle of nature. Karen and David were wonderful hosts, always on hand to give advice and recommendations for local walks, cafes, restaurants etc. We would 100% recommend a visit to Lime Wharf cafe by the boating station which has amazing breakfasts and the best brownies ever! Karen and David have some wonderful animals, ponies and dogs, who were beautiful and very friendly, and we were lucky to be able to spend some time with them, and hearing their stories. Thank you Karen and David for a wonderful weekend!

    Daisy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, quiet place right on the doorstep of the forest. The nicest part of our stay was waking up in nature and listening to the birds on the veranda as the sun was going down. Cozy and well equipped little cabin. Perfect size for 2.

We only found it a bit hard to find the entrance at night, so it's handy to pin your location. Jenny is very friendly and the cats and dog are very cute. We would definitely recommend this location!

Cedarwood is our romantic cabin in the copse. A compact glamping retreat for two in AONB countryside, complete with WIFI, smart TV, a little wood burner, a fire pit and private parking. Nearest pub 0.5 mile, Rye 5.5 miles.
A intimate hide-away, ideal for two adults looking to escape to the country to recharge their batteries.
We are on an edge of village location, down a quiet country lane but a short 7 minute walk from an award-winning pub that does home-cooked food daily.
  • Peter and Karen's cabin is a great little gem hidden away in a beautiful part of Sussex. The place was exactly as advertised and makes for the perfect place to explore old Hastings and Rye from. So many great little touches made it feel really cosy, a brilliant place to escape the stresses of every day life. It was really fun having a fire in the fire pit too!

    George2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin was brilliant for a weekend away in the countryside. Peter was a fantastic host and had some great local tips, going above and beyond what you would expect, which made our weekend that bit better.

    Adam2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely remote cabin, with everything you could possibly need for a cosy stay. It has great countryside views and a lovely little wood burner inside! It is a very short walk to some nice pubs and a short drive to Rye (great for a day trip) and the beach. Last but not least, Peter is a fantastic host and really makes you feel welcome.

    Charlotte2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy cabin, whatever the weather! Beautiful setting. Great walks. Lovely hosts. Nice dog. Outdoor firepit, clear starry sky and marshmallows! Couldn't have asked for more, and didn't want to leave; easiest reccomendation we'd make, and cant wait to stay again.

    Ryan2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin has been put together so thoughtfully. We visited in February and the fire was perfect for warm, cosy nights. It was also absolutely spotless. A lovely break from the city. We'd love to come back in the summer to make use of the outdoor space. Its in a very scenic part of the UK so plenty of walks to go on! Thanks again Lucy and Pat

    Lucy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • I booked a Cedarwood for my sister's 21st birthday present. It exceeded my expectations and was simply perfect. A beautiful cabin on a peaceful landscape fitted with everything you would need. This fabulous apartment is on the ground floor of a grand Victorian house situated on a friendly residential road and is only a short stroll from Hastings seafront, Town centre, Old Town, Alexandra Park & train station. The light, airy rooms include classic features alongside vintage furniture, providing a home from home feel throughout. We are currently renovating the entire property therefore some areas may appear a little unfinished. This won’t affect your stay & everything is tidy & safe.
Guests have their own private entrance to the property. The entry hallway leads guests to a huge yet cosy bedroom, modern kitchen and bathroom.
Hastings itself is a friendly, eclectic and bohemian seaside town scattered with quirky boutiques and scrumptious restaurants as well as the usual seaside amusements. Our place is the ideal base to explore this fabulous town. The lovely quiet road has free parking and is a short walk to the town centre, Hastings Old Town, St. Leonards, the seafront and pier, Alexandra park and the railway station.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy flat. The listing is very accurate. Although the floor isn’t carpeted the flat was still very warm and cosy. What you see is what you get with accommodation. We would definitely stay again. Excellent value for money and the hosts communicate very well. It’s worth noting that the flat is only about 10mins from station which is excellent, but be prepared for the walk which is mostly uphill if coming via train. It wouldn’t stop us visiting again though. It’s in a very good location and very quiet at night. We hope to visit again soon!

    Lauren2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it! The place was great, big, bright and homely. We especially liked the big bedroom big and huge bed. All communication with Tess was quick and warm. We would definitely like to stay here again, if we ever back in Hastings.

    Lado2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is spacious, lovingly furnished and comfortable, with a big bed, a well-equipped kitchen, central heating and lots of information about the town and area. Tess and Miles were always available to help out and answer questions, really thoughtful hosts. During my stay there was a little problem with a leaky shower, but as they have already arranged to have it replaced, that should be all right in future ;-). I can recommend it and might be back!

Parking to the rear less than 5 min walk from Tillingham Avenue (opposite no. 16). Rye train station 5 min walk, 10 min walk to Rye Citadel. Access to my home from back garden, using the public footpath behind houses, starting at the Queen Adelaide Pub or the first right entering Tillingham Avenue.
My home and your stay in the the double ensuite room is within easy walking distance of the railway station and the heart of medieval Rye and the Sussex coast. I am a few minutes walk to the from the station and a 10 min walk to the Citadel the perfect location for exploring Historic Rye.
Rye has several lovely restaurants to dine out in, and the champagne jazz bar is well worth a visit. There's the lazy bakery for beautiful sourdough breads, delicious cakes and coffees. The Landgate Bistro is on the top 40 list in the UK where chefs would eat. Nestled in the centre, near the church, there is a lovely modern cinema where you can see the latest releases and enjoy a beer or glass of wine with your movie and a bite to eat after. • Place doesnt have sockets so make sure to carry enough powerbanks to charge your phones, there is one powerbank provided by the host but for us as we stayed for two nights, had to use our own too which thankfully lasted until end of trip. Laptops only lasted a day. Place doesnt have a fridge but has a cooler outside. It is very quiet place but we loved it.

    Rekha2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful spot, and what a small and perfectly formed gem the cabin was. There was a real 'wow' factor to the view, and it was just lovely to sit out on the deck and watch the sun set with the firepit on the go. It was a perfect de-stress for us as busy city dwellers with kids. Also handy to have a friendly pub just five minutes away.

    Corinna2020-03-02T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely place. A lot Of thoughtful details. For example dog treats for our dogs. Trisha is lovely. If we can give travellers a tip I would suggest for people travelling to this area is to book your table for dinner if you would like to go local. Over the 3 nights satay we could find a table for lunch or dinner and ended up with take away from rye or Hastings. Lovely brewery -great beer and lovely atmosphere within a short distance from the cottage.

    Roxana2020-03-09T00:00:00Z

  • Beautiful studio accommodation in the lovely grounds of Trisha’s countryside home. Shame the weather meant we couldn’t use the fire pit outside but that didn’t matter. Place was clean, tidy and loved the pastries and cereals for breakfast. Great spot for exploring Rye Bay, close to a super pub (the red lion) and near to a few National Trust properties such as Bateman’s. Recommended for a country getaway.

We are a very easy going and relaxed family! We do not have any children living at home any more so it is nice and quiet. I am happy to provide dinner for an extra £5 a day if required.
Although it is not totally separate, you can shut yourself away in our annex and have a small flat, with kitchen and bathroom for your use
We live on the outskirts of Hastings with easy access to the hospital and the surrounding villages.
  • Both Ashley and Martin are a pleasure to meet. You are left alone in a nice way to either join them or go about your own business. Pooches are a treat aswell. Both lovely people. Will be staying again.

In the heart of trendy St Leonards the apartment is an ideal base to explore the area. Part of a Victorian terraced house but is self contained with outdoor space and its own private entrance. Free on street parking. It's a short stroll to the seafront and just 4 minutes walk from St Leonards Warrior Square station (direct trains to London, Ashford International & Brighton). I usually greet my guests but use key box if self check in needed. Got to Instagram @stleonards_pad for hints & tips.
The decor is retro and arty with a mid century vibe objets and art. The spacious bedroom has a super king size bed with a Nectar mattress, 4 pillows and additional blankets as cosy essentials . The comfortable sofa bed is located in the lounged only suitable for 1 guest. Children are welcome however the space is probably more suitable for older children or infants rather than toddlers. There is a fridge/freezer with complimentary milk and water as well as a kettle with a selection of teas and coffee. Please note there is no kitchen area/cooking facility. All can be enjoyed in your lounge, al fresco in your private sunny courtyard or at the beach. The bathroom has a shower and toilet. There are 7 steps to access the flat so it may not be suitable if guest(s) have limited mobility.
You are right in the heart of the vibrant and trendy St Leonards neighbourhood with cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops, vintage emporiums, art house cinema, live music venues and of course a few minutes from the beach.

  • This review is based entirely on what a generous, thoughtful and caring host Stephanie is. Due to family circumstances, I had to cancel my trip at short notice, and the support I received was exceptional. I can't comment on the accommodation itself, but after my experience with the host, I can't imagine it would be anything other than brilliant. I hope to return at some point and find out - and hopefully thank Stephanie in person.

All the little touches (like the milk and fruit) were great, and the bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in. A great location with a short walk into Hastings and the train station is on your door step if needed. Would would recommend this stay to everyone and would love to return. Thank you!

Right on the seafront in the best position near to everything is this sweet cosy studio. With views to the back of the building looking out onto the garden this calm quiet studio offers a truly relaxing space. You have everything you need.. your own shower room and cute kitchen for the price of a room with shared facilities.
It’s perfect for a couple taking a romantic break or even a couple and a child. The space is limited so big suitcases and more than two adults wouldn’t be so comfortable for more than a couple of nights.Having said that 3 adults could be accommodated as long as you bear in mind that space is limited. The studio is on the second floor with 4 flights of stairs. Also this studio would not be suitable for the elderly/ physically challenged guest as there are stairs going up to the the sleeping area and you can’t stand up in the eves. As well as the very comfy double bed on the mezzanine floor there is also a single bed/sofa on the ground floor. So if you want a well priced break in a sweet snug and calming space near to all amenities, right on the seafront this place is for you!

  • One of the best Air BnB experiences I have ever had! Beautiful room, Madeleine made checkin super easy, was always good with communication, the bed was extremely comfy and the room felt very luxurious and comfortable. Madeleine's house is beautiful, with a gorgeous shared bathroom, breakfast was also included (such a bonus!) and brought by Madeleine to the room, delicious scrambled eggs, toast and yoghurt. Teas and coffee facilities were in the room. Log burner in the room also made it feel very cosey. The room was also so reasonably priced, this really felt like staying in a lovely hotel.

  • Madeleine made us very welcome at her lovely home. Great care and attention to detail meant we really enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable and I would thoroughly recommend staying there!

  • Hi, Madeline's place is ideally situated at a 15-20 walk from Ore station or Hastings station. Rooms are very neat and spacious. She also provides you with tea and coffee options. Breakfast served is really delicious and certainly gets rid of the task to go out for it early. She is also helpful with local tips. Washroom has shampoos and body wash options which enables you to travel without these and reduce luggage.

  • Beautiful location and gardens, every amenity you could need, perfect country get away. Less light pollution than where i live too so the stars were actually visible from the field over the road at night time. I would recommend to anyone looking for a break from the every day.

This is no ordinary shepards hut. Having seen a lot of similar looking shepards huts I decided I could do one better. The hut comprises a comfortable living space, fully equipped kitchenette with sink and gas hob, a wet room come flushing loo and two upstairs bedrooms. All you need.
Set amongst lush, green land overlooking the south-eastern coast of England sits The Hut, a self-built shepherds hut inspired haven. The Hut comprises a comfortable living space, fully equipped kitchenette with sink and gas hob, a wet room come loo, and two upstairs bedrooms to sleep four. The Hut is surrounded by a level decking with outdoor furniture, as well as a BBQ and fire pit. Designed with the country traveller in mind, The Hut is decorated in shades of blue and grey with hints of patterned and floral soft furnishings. The Hut is located in The Lambing Field, one of the farms’ most iconic spots with stunning views out onto the coast, often known to have held memorable parties and weddings. The Hut is intimate and one of a kind, making for a truly unusual and unforgettable experience. The Hut runs off solar power and mains water. There is no mains electricity, however phone chargers are available upon request. Logs are also available upon request.
Rye and Hastings are two traditional and beautiful old towns offering unique shops, attractions, pubs, bars and restaurants. The local pub is a 5 minutes’ walk from the hut, located at the top of the drive. The beach is also only 10 minutes away (by car).
  • Great and cosy views!

  • Lovely couple of nights away. Beautiful Hut in amazing location.

    Lily2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Hut is a clean and beautifully put together space with lots of thoughtful touches to make it feel cosy and homely. Location is great - it feels remote when you’re there, but really close to Rye, just off the main road, and 5 minutes from a nice pub (The Plough). It was pouring with rain while we were there but that didn’t matter - it was still the perfect place to sit by the fire and play games with a drink! We’ll be back to try out the hammock and fire pit in better weather though...

    Sophie2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in the hut, the place is beautiful and very quiet. A very pleasant evening. Do not forget the boots if it rains!

  • Me and my family stayed in The Hut for one night. We loved it! I would highly recommend. Great value for money and very clean. The location is amazing too, with one part of the hut overlooking fields as well as the sea and the other side of the hut in the woods. A great place for families, friends or couples!

UNLIMITED WIFI NOW AVAILABLE The lodge is located in Normandy Court, please look up Combe Haven website for lodge location and their facilities. Please note, the general consensus with booking caravan holidays via AirBnB is to not include entertainment passes. This is due to some guests using our holiday home for accommodation only, therefore entertainment passes will need to be purchased directly from Haven on arrival or whenever required during your stay. Check out is at 10am. Check in is from 2pm. THIS IS A STRICTLY NO SMOKING HOLIDAY HOME, PLEASE ADHERE TO THIS RULE We are trying to make our prices comparable with Combe Havens platinum with decking caravan but for this you get a 40ft x16ft lodge with more space and comfort. unlimited wifi, all the extra appliances in kitchen, travel cot, high chair, standard fan. Please check prices on Combe Haven first and then try AIRBNB they should come up cheaper but remember you will have to add the cost of passes, there may be a discrepancy in the pricing as Combe Haven give offers and the 4 nights and 7 nights Friday to Friday is difficult to match on AIRBNB, if this is the case please contact us and we can adjust prices accordingly. Thank you from Andrew and Kimberley

  • A great place to stay! The hosts met us on arrival and showed us around. They'd left some lovely personal touches, e.g. chocolate buttons for our little boy, travel cot and high chair set up ready and a bottle of prosecco for me and my husband! The lodge is bigger than we expected and very warm, cosy, comfortable and peaceful. The space feels very private despite being on the Haven site. There is a well stocked shop, restaurant, a few take aways, big arcade, play areas and pools on site. The walk to the beach is about 10 minutes and then you can take a lovely walk along the coast into Saint Leonards and Hastings. Comfortable beds and we all slept really well (9 month old baby included!) We wouldn't hesitate to recommend and return.

  • Andrew's home was perfect for us. it was just as nice as the pictures, and had plenty of space for 4 adults. Kitchen was well equipped and it was sparkling clean. Pay attention to the information about how to find it. The place is huge with many chalets but this one is in a great location, quiet and near woods and a stream.
