Places to stay in Ugborough
Cosy and spacious rustic cabin conveniently located midway between the stunning beaches on the South Devon Coast and lovely walks on Dartmoor National Park to the north. Set in the gorgeously lush South Devon countryside and great for couples and young families who want to get away from it all and for solo adventurers, walkers and business travellers. Private and tucked away, surrounded by 60 acres yet close to the village with its lovely pub.
The Cabin is recently converted, tastefully decorated, self contained and private. It is approached via a stone track and is detached and cosy with central heating and a basic open plan kitchen with counter top belling style cooker, microwave, fridge, sink and dishwasher. The sitting room has a small table and chairs, sofa, a full drum kit for a little excitement and a pretty storage cupboard. There is a gas bbq and a small private garden with table and chairs and plenty of off road parking with little touches that make your stay comfortable. The double bed has a quality comfortable mattress, cotton sheets and fluffy towels and an en-suite shower room. On arrival we will give you a cake to go with your tea and coffee and breakfast, jam and butter, milk, fresh eggs (usually from our chickens) and flowers.
This is a wonderful unspoilt area of the South Hams yet we are not far Avonwick Village and close to some wonderful beaches in Salcombe and at Mothercombe. There is surfing at Bantham beach and we are a short drive to Dartmoor with its spectacular scenery and walks. Avonwick itself is a lovely village with its pub and small garage, not to mention some other excellent pubs in the area with great food including the Turtley Cornmill, The Anchor and The Ship at Ugborough and to name but a few. Totnes, Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, Salcombe and Exeter and Plymouth are all fairly close thanks to a good road network and the A38 Expressway.
  • Stunning little cabin with lovely views. Well equipped and quaint with extra facilities that weren’t expected, ie heated mattress and drum kit. Would not hesitate to stay here again; Rupert & Lisa thank you for having us!

  • Such a lovely cabin, we ‘hid out’ here during storm Dennis which just made it even more cosy! Lovely attentive hosts who provide all the little extras you might need. Highly recommend to anyone. Thanks again xx

  • Rupert’s place is simple, honest and perfect. The feeling of isolation is wonderful. Being close to Dartmoor and the coast it’s the perfect place for exploring. I would advise you not to stay here if you want to cook 3 course meals and watch tv all day. This isn’t that place. Think of Rupert’s place as a cosy, welcoming base-camp for your adventures. Rupert is a genuine host - relaxed, helpful, knowledgable, there if you need him and not there if you don’t. We were in the cabin during Storm Ciara which was great fun. Rupert messaged us a couple of times to make sure we were ok. When our car decided to break down it was no trouble at all for us to stay past our check out time until rescue arrived. I thoroughly recommend Rupert’s place!

  • Wonderful little cabin that was actually not too difficult to find. The communication was easy and we found everything we need, along with a lovely little homemade cake, and fresh ingredients for breakfast. Would definitely come back and highly recommend! Thank you Rupert and Lisa!

  • My boyfriend and I absolutely loved The Cabin. We have never stayed in anything like it before but we will 100% be coming back! The decor inside was so homely and we loved the little touches such as the cake and hamper with bread, eggs, butter and jam inside along with fresh milk and juice. The bedroom was really cosy, with a lovely en-suite. As we got in late, Rupert left the lights on for us which was very kind of him. He was quick to reply if I ever contacted him and even popped up to say hello and to tell us where to go in the local area which was lovely, especially to hear about the history of The Cabin. As this was my first time using Airbnb I was a little anxious about what it would be like in comparison to reviews, pictures etc but it did not disappoint. If anything, the pictures did not do the cabin justice. My boyfriend and I have already said that we have no doubts that we will be coming back. We cannot thank Rupert and Lisa (who unfortunately we did not meet) enough for everything and are already looking forward to our next stay.

    Georgia2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay! great communication snd wonderful host.

    Glen2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rupert's communication was great. Information pre arrival was detailed & helpful in terms of directions etc. & then a text to let us know that he'd put the lights on as it was getting dark. This made the cabin feel even more welcoming & homely. The cake & breakfast provisions were very welcome too. We didnt get round to trying the drums but a detached cabin is the ideal location for the set I'm sure. The bedroom was really cosy . A really private space with everythng we could have needed for our 1 night - wish it could have been longer.

  • A lovely cabin, slightly quirky with the drum kit and dolls house which we loved! Nice touch to provide the milk, juice, bread, eggs and delicious cake. Recommended!

Experience the real eco lifestyle! Stags view cabin is hard to easily describe. Its features are the amazing views, hidden away position and the possibility of watching wild deer. It's an off grid experience whilst still offering modern comforts. A spacious property with king size bed and two sofas, generously proportioned shower room with flushing toilet ,and complete kitchen with hob and fridge . Guests love that power and water are by sustainable sources on site. A perfect couples hideaway!
Stags view cabin is a perfect escape for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the countryside in an eco friendly structure. Step into the cabin, where on a winters evening a fire can be set ready for you to light on arrival. The cabin is exclusively yours for your stay. From your king-sized bed, you will be able to watch the sun set over the valley, and watch buzzards flying over the field in front of you. If you are lucky, you might see deer grazing, from which the Hide gets its stag motifs. You will find all modern amenities in the cabin, mixed with up -cycled gems. My aim was to create a comfortable modern space within a rural structure and provide sustainable means of power , light and water, without compromising on facilities expected from a holiday home. All the materials used were to be of a rural Devon source, pre owned , up cycled and reclaimed . The walls are regency styled panelling made from doors with a wall of windows to the front capturing views of Dartmoor and the stunning sunsets. A beech floor from an old gym adds individuality to the space. The sitting area has comfortable sofas and a log burning stove with plentiful free wood supplied to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. A generous sized shower room finished to a high standard with hot and cold shower, plumbed toilet and plumbed basin add to everyday comfort. The kitchen with all that is needed to prepare meals on a gas hob mean that guests can be totally self contained , and the kitchen even has a fridge. I provide freshly ground coffee , tea and sugar as well as a complimentary breakfast bowl and milk for my guests Outside and apart from the views already mentioned is an outdoor dining area and barbecue space. There is intentionally no vehicle access within 50 yards to maintain the wild feel to what is quite a unique experience, so parking is by the swimming pond. Infants are welcome, as are dogs (please just let me know before arrival). If the dates you need are not available, why not check out my other cottage listing on the same property: https://airbnb.co.uk/rooms/13000732?s=51
Easily accessible by rail, bus and car, and only a 35minute drive from Exeter airport, The cabin is in the heart of South Devon and you will be amazed at how accessible every part of Devon is from here. Take in Dartmoor, The English Riviera, medieval Totnes, historical and buzzing Exeter, Elizabethan Plymouth, the beautiful coast and sandy beaches and we are even close enough to Cornwall that you can do a day trip to visit some of Cornwall's gems. Please just ask me and I can help you to plan an itinerary. On the doorstep of the cabin is the picturesque village of South Brent with shops, pubs and provisions. An award winning Gastro pub, the Turtley Corn Mill is also only a short walk down the hill. The famous artists town of Totnes is a 15 minute drive and driving in any direction takes in the coast and stunning countryside.

Enjoy a winter stay in the cosy, stylish, self contained annex. Part of a listed cottage set in the AONB village of Avonwick; on the edge of the South Hams, Totnes, Dartmoor and the South coast beaches. Explore the Totnes and Dartington Christmas markets and winter walks. The Annex has it's own entrance, little galley, desk area, double bedroom and en-suite shower room. Living in the main house are a sociable, young family of three and a puppy! We can organise a cot for 0-2 year olds
The annex is hand built and tastefully decorated, including a number of original artworks which make for a unique space.
Avonwick is a small village in South Hams with two pubs- the Avon Inn (100m away) and The Turtley Corn Mill (a mile away). The larger village of South Brent is only one mile away and a nice cycle / walk for shops, pharmacy, (more pubs!) Being only a mile to the A38, the location provides excellent access to the South Hams, Dartmoor, Exeter and on to Cornwall. Totnes is a wonderful and unique market town and is only 5 miles away. There are numerous rivers, walks, tors and beaches close by and we would be very happy to show you some tips on a map
  • Anthony is a wonderful host, very friendly and incredibly hospitable. I gave a knock on the door upon arrival and was greeted with a genuinely warm welcome and made to feel very at home. The Annex was warm, clean and cosy with a comfortable bed and bedding, stylish artwork and decor Many kitchen basics were provided including tea, coffee, bread, butter and milk. There’s also a pamphlet you’ll find on arrival with great local tips and detailed house instructions. I found my stay at the Annex to be great value and would definitely recommend this place! Hope to stay again next time I’m down in the west country! :-)

    Gene2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot for a quiet weekend ( or longer! ) getaway! Perfect location close to Dartmoor and the sea that feels very homely and cosy. Anna and Anthony are super welcoming and have great tips for whatever you’re after! Hope Cove and Haytor were great, so is the pub down the road or the Church House Inn. We came in January and were lucky with the weather but will definitively return in the summer!

  • Highly recommended. A beautifully kept and modernised old house, spacious room, new bathroom. Lovely hosts. We paid extra for breakfast and it was generous & delicious.

    Jennifer2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at this completely out of the way haven of peace! Stayed on a wet blustery night but the room was warm, cosy and had a lovely modern bathroom with a lush shower. The main house is extremely old and has loads of character and appears to be part of a farm, I didn't get the chance to meet the hosts but Charlotte communicated extremely quickly to any queries. Would stay again!

If there is a north wind blowing some road noise can be heard at night. It is a rural area so there will the sounds and sometimes smells of the farm. Church bells can be heard on the hour, Thursday evenings and for Sunday service.
Excellent pubs, close to beaches, great walks on Dartmoor
  • Highly recommend. Plenty to do in the area, lovely lovely glamping site. High wooden structure with firm fixtures. Loved the design and simplicity.

  • I implore you - please stay here. You won’t regret it. We stayed for a long weekend and we are already planning our next trip. Very seriously. We didn’t want to leave. The pictures do not do the tent justice, it will exceed expectations. It is beautifully put together with wonderful finishing touches (for instance, we had hot water bottles for each person staying which just made those fresh nights super cosy) The honesty shop is thoughtful and expertly stocked, making your stay even more relaxing with all the essentials (and more) a short stroll away. It was my birthday on our stay and Alex and her family left me a card on welcome which was a really lovely addition. The setting overlooking beautiful Ugborough, together with those church bells, wildlife at night and the peaceful stirring of Devonshire life, will guarantee you leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.

    Karen2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Super place to stay for a few nights - stylish, but fun for kids (and dogs!) , and well located for moors or beaches Dartmoor, Salcombe etc. If you like camping, you’ll like this...if you hate camping, you’ll love this!

    Kate2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We stumbled across this looking for somewhere to add onto a 3 day break in Woolacombe. How lucky we were too! We wanted something a little different and that is what we got. We stayed with two young boys and a 6 week old baby. It was immaculately clean, had everything you needed, the beds were extremely comfortable. It has been designed so well, positioned looking out at stunning views, surrounded with greenery and wildlife. We sat under the stairs in the evening as we were lucky to have a clear night, it was beautiful. Alex was extremely helpful, we took her advice and visited Wembury Beach so the boys could go rock pooling. Lovely clean beach. The honesty shop is a brilliant idea and we made use of it by getting locally made coal for the BBQ. We were going to eat out but decided to make use of the BBQ both nights we stayed because we didn’t want to leave, and wanted to make the most of our time there. The little trail to the den area was great and safe for the children to play. Overall, we were nice and warm, cosy and comfortable - and we would definitely return here for some tranquility and time out from the outside world. Thank you Alex - we absolutely loved our time there.

  • Alex is an excellent host and the glamping tent was awesome. It’s really luxurious inside - the bathroom is particularly lovely. Alex is a really attentive host and she communicates quickly and effectively. The location in Ivybridge is excellent and Alex provides lots of useful suggestions of places to go. Highly recommended. We’d definitely go back.

    Russell2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful hidden oasis. Ideal spot to step off grid and completely relax. Despite feeling like you are a million miles away from the stresses of life, it was actually well located for trips to River Dart and Dartmoor that were only a short drive away. Every touch was well thought out to make our stay perfect. Fantastic friendly host who made us feel very welcome. I could not recommend this venue enough and would definitely like a return visit in future.

    Caragh2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really lovely weekend away with the best of both worlds , home comforts and the great outdoors. Alex and family have been a pleasure to deal with, the safari tent was spotless and full of charm. Everything we needed was there and to a high quality. The honesty shop was a great idea where we could buy items like charcoal and marshmallows , wood for the log burner and fresh food could be ordered in too. We look forward to returning again in the near future. Thoroughly recommended.

  • I returned to Tilly’s, another working trip ,she makes her guests really welcome and so comfortable in her lovely light and restful home!

  • Tilly made us very welcome at her spotless and stylish home... despite our having to cancel on two previous occasions due to the various storms ...! We hope to return to continue our recce of this lovely area very soon and hopefully stay with her again ...

    Mary2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tilly is a wonderful host. She made us feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. Her home is beautiful and our space was immaculate. Tilly was helpful every step of the way from notifications to adapting to our needs. Her home is close to the town center with easy parking. We look forward to going back.

    Todd2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tilly gave me a very warm welcome to her beautiful home. The rooms were sparkling clean and I had everything I needed. The house itself was peaceful and quiet and the road also, but it was also easy walking distance into the lovely small town of Modbury. The bedroom was very comfortable and the private bathroom next door was perfect. I didn’t feel I was intruding on Tilly’s privacy as I had the middle floor to myself. We shared the kitchen but I didn’t use it for more than a cup of tea as I was eating with my sister locally for all meals, but had I needed to it was very clean and Tilly had said I could use it if I wanted to. There was a TV in the lounge which I could also use if I had wanted to. WiFi was also available. All in all, Tilly’s place was perfect for my circumstances and I would happily stay again if I needed to.

    Liz2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tilly's house is on a new estate in the attractive little Georgian town of Modbury. The Development where the house is located is very pretty with some great views out towards Dartmoor. This is a relatively new housing complex and the facilities within Tilly's lovely town house are exceptional. She couldn't have done more to make me feel relaxed and at ease. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt at home almost as soon as I'd arrived. The house was spotlessly clean and I cannot think how anything could be improved upon. Staying with Tilly has been a wonderful experience and I cannot recommend her home and hospitality highly enough.

    Steph2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great all round place to stay, very clean and comfortable.

    Jane2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tilly is a fantastic, welcoming host and her home is very beautiful and comfortable. Modbury is a beautiful and picturesque village - close to the coast and beaches and also to the stunning Devon countryside. I can’t recommend - Tilly, her home, and this area highly enough!

  • Tilly's home is just beautiful and the room is gorgeous, with your own bathroom. The location is also just stunning. Tilly was an amazing host - she was so accommodating and helpful and kind. I definitely recommend staying with Tilly to anyone who is in the area.

  • What an amazing place to stay. We stayed at 'gateway to the moors' to allow us to be near a race we were running which finished nearby. We were greeted and shown round by Cheryl. We had an early start the next day and they had kindly laid us up a help yourself continental breakfast which was very welcome including homemade bread and overnight porridge which were a real hit. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We arrive quite late and were made tea/coffee and offered cake too. Always a winner. The place was lovely and clean and was really well situated for exploring Ivybridge and surrounding area along with Dartmoor which was right on the door step. Highly recommended. Thank you so much

  • Cheryl and her husband were perfect hosts. They welcomed me and a friend with a great hospitality. The communication was super easy. They also came up with a great breakfast. If I’m back in the region I would definitely book this location.

  • What a fantastic place! Cheryl and John made us feel so welcome with their warm hospitality and friendliness. They gave us advice about our walk (The Two Moors Way) and provided lifts when we were stuck! They could not have been more accommodating and they helped everything go smoothly. We would definitely recommend their establishment. Great value and the breakfast was awesome too! Thank you.

  • Cheryl was a great host. She was flexible, quick to respond and welcomed us warmly into her home. The room was cosy and the bathroom nice and big. Everything was spotless and well taken care of. The freshly cooked breakfast was just what we needed for a good day. Thank you Cheryl, we would stay with you again anytime!

  • Great place for a little break before all the panic and isolation sets in! Perfect for us and excellent hosts

    Rich2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Helen's cabin this weekend which was in an ideal spot to explore Dartmoor and come back to after a day out. The cabin was cosy and clean with a well provisioned kitchen that we were able to cook a decent dinner in, although there were also good local options to eat out at. The location is a minute's drive from the main road but you'd never know as it's enclosed by trees, so you can enjoy the quiet but still be conveniently located to get off to a quick start each day. Helen and her husband gave us a warm welcome and were on hand for any questions and provided us with some great suggestions for the local area, thanks again!

    Tom2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Helen and her husband were very friendly and helpful. The cabin was comfy and cosy. We loved the game boards, specially the rush hour. It was so very nice to be waken by the singing of the birds in the morning.

  • Helen was a very considerate and welcoming host. The cabin was clean, modern and cosy. We had a very nice, relaxing stay. Thanks for your hospitality.

  • Cosy cabin. Good facilities and easy to find access from the A38.

    Daniel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a stop off on our way back from Cornwall to extend our holiday by a day - we found Helen’s cabin and were not disappointed! In a convenient spot just off the main drag but hidden in a private woodland so you feel a million miles away from civilisation. Helen was kind enough to let us stay even though there are 5 of us - and it wasn’t even a squeeze. We fitted in comfortably with our 3 kids - 2 on the sofa bed and one on a camp bed. Helen was a brilliant host with tips on where to eat (Turtley Corn mill for a lovely pub meal) and where to go crabbing (Dittisham - 114 crabs caught and 3 seals spotted!). The nicest touch was the breakfast spread left for us - makes life so much easier when you’re travelling with ever hungry kids! Thanks Helen - I’m sure we’ll back on our next trip to the South West.

    Katherine2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely stay at Helen’s cabin which was the perfect place to chill out for a couple of days en route home to Cornwall. Clean, comfy, warm and cosy, and in a handy location just off the Devon Expressway. The breakfast supplies were a really thoughtful touch and much appreciated. Thanks Helen!

Our charming shepherd hut provides cosy accommodation for two with stunning views to the countryside nestled in its own meadow on our small farm. Although our beautiful hut is hidden away in a peaceful quiet location, there’s something for everyone nearby. Located in the heart of the South Hams countryside near the town of Modbury there are spectacular views, walks and scenery all year round.
Drive down our private lane and park in the car park before a short (200m) walk down the fields to access the hut. The double French doors open up to reveal a beautiful characterful interior. At one end is a built in double bed, with lots of storage underneath. There’s an open plan living and kitchen space with power points for your electrical items. A door at the other end leads to the shower room with electric shower and WC. For the colder nights you can stoke up the wood burner, providing plenty of warmth. The galley kitchen has all the basics (including tea, coffee and sugar) and provides a simple space with a useful drop-leaf table for cooking up your own meals. There is a fridge to keep the essentials cold and an electric hob, kettle and toaster. Outside the French doors is a decked covered balcony with table and chairs so you can relax and enjoy the views in peace and quiet. A perfect setting to enjoy an alfresco dinner at the end of the day or a game of cards. Feel free to use the BBQ or fire pit (some wood provided) in the evening, you may even hear the rustle of the local badgers, deer and wildlife in the fields. We are a short walk from Andrews Wood Nature Reserve, an established woodland with a collection of ferns and beautiful wildflowers. A walk through Andrews Wood takes you past a ruined farmstead and gardens long abandoned by people. Exmoor ponies graze the wood which is home to the Heath Lobelia which is thought to exist in just six locations in England, making Andrews Wood a site of Special Scientific Interest. A short 30 minute drive from the farm will find you in picturesque Dartmoor National Park for some breathtaking walks. In the opposite direction, some of the West Country’s best beaches can be found. Bantham or Bigbury for the surfers (or sunbathers!) and plenty of coastal paths for the hikers. If shopping is more your thing there are plenty of small towns to potter through including Totnes, Salcombe and Kingsbridge. There are lots of places to eat nearby more details and recommendations will be in your welcome pack. Less than a mile from the hut you can easily walk to the local pub which has a well-stocked shop opposite if you’ve left any of your essentials at home! There are lots of places to eat nearby
  • Had a lovely mini break here with my partner and my little dog. Jan was very helpful through the booking process as I had a few hiccups with the air bnb app. Her directions were spot on and she was very welcoming when we arrived and left us to our own devices for the duration of the visit. She had very kindly provided a water bowl, dog towel and some dog treats for my four legged friend which I thought was a lovely touch. The shepherds hut itself was very secluded and far from the main house, situated in a field that we had all to ourselves, which was lovely for my dog to play with toys when we weren't out exploring. And even though it was pretty cold outside, the woodburner made the place lovely and warm. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet little getaway and I would definitely visit again!

    Litty2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was clean and cosy and contained everything needed for a short break. We were unlucky with the weather so would love to return in the Summer months and enjoy the outside space. If you are looking for somewhere quiet and secluded to recharge your batteries this is ideal.

    Jody2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely couple of days at the cabin. It’s located at the end of a field so you are well out of the way and it’s lovely and quiet. The log burner does a great job heating the place and it was nice not to have to go outside to get to the loo/shower. The cabin was spotlessly clean and the bed nice and comfy. Good hot shower too. The cabin was easy to find and only a short drive to the coast for days walking and exploring the area. It’s beautiful even in January!

    Rebecca2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The shepherds hut was lovely - very toasty with the log burner and stylishly kitted out. We were a bit unfortunate with the weather (flood warnings and all!) so didn’t get the chance to make the most of the gorgeous location, but we were very happy snuggled up there. Thanks Jan!

    Alex2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a weekend get away, would be perfect in the summer but still an amazing place in the winter because of the log burner and wood which is available to warm you up and allow you to cosy up in the cabin 😌😌 It’s a must for me if you want a countryside scape 👌🏼

    Mike2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The space is beautifully decorated and sparkling clean, really easy to get to yet feels so secluded once there. A perfect space for a peaceful getaway. Would 100% recommend to all. Great walking routes, shopping and dining nearby. Will definitely be back!

    Emma2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully private and peaceful. A lovely cosy hut with everything you need and amazingly clean. The fire will keep you warm on even the coldest of nights. An excellent base to explore the local area.

    Rebecca2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Jan's hut and it felt as if we were returning to a place that we own! As always, the hut was spotless clean and well stacked with coffee, tea, milk, sugar, wood for the log burner, etc. This time around we booked ourselves on the Great Robin Round Trip (Steam train, Bus and Steam Ferry) and it was lovely returning home to a warm and cosy cabin. We spent hours sat on the veranda, watching the stars and chatting. Maximum romance! I just love seeing the effect that this gorgeous secluded spot has on my often-stressed husband. Your place is magic, Jan, a real tonic and you're a wonderful hostess. Thank you so much for having us again, we can't wait to be back soon!

  • Janine and Mark gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived , Janine showed us round their lovely homely cottage. They had gone to the trouble of providing us with milk, tea and coffee and a nice bunch of roses, which after a long eight hour drive made the start of our break very special indeed. They were very friendly and most hospitable. Nothing didn't seem to be to much trouble for them to make sure we had a lovely break. We thoroughly recommend Max's cottage and hope to go back soon.

    Michael2019-09-17T00:00:00Z

Pool, darts, and xbox kept us all entertained - especially when it was tipping down outside. The village is beautiful and really well connected to lots of Devon's most picturesque places. We would definitely come again!

This is a warm comfortable 'guest wing' in our family home in the lovely Dartmoor village of South Brent. It is a spacious end of terrace Victorian house; your wing is at the back; it includes a cosy light bedroom (with a super comfy bed) overlooking the garden, a private loo and a private bathroom. The guest wing is quite separate from the front, where we live. You are likely to be woken by birdsong if at all! Breakfast will include organic and homemade bread and local yellow-yolked eggs...
We are a working family who enjoy welcoming people into our home and have a lot of experience of it. Your part of the house (bedroom, bathroom and WC) has a shared entrance but is separated from the rest of the house by a private corridor which is curtained off for privacy. The bed has a comfy semi-firm back care mattress, and there are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The bathroom has a shower and a lovely deep bath to ease away the aches after a long day's walking! South Brent is a lovely village with a thriving community and we would be very happy to help you find your way around or recommend our 'must-sees' including a fantastic range of historic pubs for eating. It is an ideal base for exploring Dartmoor and the beautiful SW coast whether by bike, car or on foot. We have a dog, Eric, who is very friendly. The garden is a great place for a glass of wine in the evening.
South Brent is brilliantly located for access to Dartmoor, Plymouth, Totnes or Exeter, or any of the surrounding towns and villages. The A38 is nearby but not too close! There are lots of beautiful walks in the area which we can advise on - you can easily walk or cycle from the house up on to the moors. We are located on the Plymouth - Exeter cycle route. There are 2 pubs in the village which offer food, also a cafe and a number of shops including a deli and a Coop. It's a great base for day trips to the coast too; the SW coast path around the South Hams is stunning.
  • Such a welcoming home and the room was just what we needed for a comfortable, quick visit in Devon. Flo and her family was absolutely lovely, providing us with many sweet gestures and touches. Thank you!!

  • This is a great place, the accommodation is amazing. You get lots of living spare, with a high quality finish. I’d recommend it to all my friends, who’s looking to stay near the moors. Within the guild Michelle has put together for the area. We found some great places to eat. If you need a hearty meal, I would recommend the Ship Inn. It offers a very friendly atmosphere, great staff and locals.

  • Michelle and Jim’s place was the best we had stayed at during our Airbnb’s in UK. Had everything you needed as a lot of thought went into it. Very central and very quite a real treat and felt like home.

    Laurie2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Michelle and Jim's beautiful apartment. It was really clean, comfortable, with everything you need for a fantastic break (Sky TV was a nice bonus for when we got in knackered after a long daytrip out!). The kitchen was well-stocked, so it was easy to have meals in. The real standout is definitely the location! Situated right on the edge of Dartmoor and a short drive from the beautiful South Devon coast, it was lovely to get immediately out into beautiful scenery. There were also plenty of shops and restaurants only a short drive away towards Ivybridge/Plymouth. The hosts were quick to respond and helpful throughout, and we briefly met Jim who came over after we'd checked in to check we had everything we needed, which was nice. All in all, a great place to stay!

Local shops include: Co-Op, antiques, butcher, fish’n’chips & chemist, 5 minutes walk out of the lane! Close to Totnes & Ashburton.
Littlefield annex is situated towards the end of a lane on the edge of a thriving village. The accommodation is a completely self-contained annex with some adaptations made for those with mobility or vision impairments (please see photos, feel free to message with measurement queries etc). The apartment has it's own private entrance, double bedroom with new (January 2020) sprung mattress (optional bed rail if required), kitchen/lounge, wet room (with optional free-standing shower chair for anyone requiring it) and ample parking. There is a sofa bed (small double- great for children or one adult, some people find it not suitable for two adults for more than one night) in the lounge, living room for up to four guests in total. There is also room if you wish to bring a travel cot or similar in the bedroom or lounge. • Angela's beautifully presented place was perfectly located for exploring the stunning moors and coast. We juggled work, caring for a toddler and exploring the area very easily from this excellent base. We were super grateful that our very last minute new year's eve request was accommodated. Our little one loved the walks, stickle bricks, trolley, blocks and playing outside in the garden. The village is lovely and we particularly enjoyed homity pie at the station road cafe. Equally the coop was brilliant with excellent opening hours and everything we needed over the Bank Holiday. Thank you!

  • We came here the same day I arrived from Australia, and this was just the peace and tranquility needed to rest off the jet lag. Winding through the narrow lanes and hedgerows, you will find a lovely, quaint cottage on a lush property with amazing views of the moor. Immaculately clean and tidy space, cosy and with nice touches, everything you could need for a comfortable stay. It was lovely meeting Angela, she had the fire built for us when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. We explored some of the charming towns, had a stroll by the river just down the road, and enjoyed a movie with the cosy fire crackling away. We’d love to come back again!

You may also feel free to take advantage of our 1st floor sun-trap terrace. Free parking is available on our street, with an often unused spot directly across from our house. In the rare occasion this is filled, you can find other free spaces on the nearby streets. As mentioned above, we are pet friendly and have our own Cocker Spaniel puppy. The dog is not allowed in the guest room and is kept separately upstairs, so interaction can be kept to a minimum if required. Included in your stay: - Free fast WiFi - Continental breakfast with fresh fruit (let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we will try to cater accordingly). If the weather is warm enough, this can be served on our terrace over looking the hills. - Towels, including beach towels if required - Hair dryer - Access to iron/ironing board - Access to our courtyard garden & terrace - Use of washing machine/tumble dryer if required
Modbury is a charming small market town, with a quirky edge (proudly claiming to be the first UK town to ban the use of plastic bags - since 2007!) With modern amenities such as pubs, takeaways, art galleries and cafes, Modbury is also steeped in history, the town itself having been recorded in the Doomsday book. Modbury means "meeting place" in Old English. Modbury is ideal to access everything that South Devon has to offer: A walkers paradise, with Dartmoor, the South West Coast Path, South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and a variety of heritage trail walks around the town itself. If it is the sea that draws you, you cannot beat Bantham, Bigbury on Sea and our personal favourite, Mothecome - all a short drive from Modbury.
  • Very comfortable room, immaculate and stylish. I love a good shower, this one was just perfect.. can’t think of anything that would make our stay any better.

  • Would recommend this room to anyone wanting to stay in South Devon. The room was so comfortable and clean and Beth and Chris were such lovely hosts- we were spoilt with a delicious breakfast of pastries, yoghurt and fresh fruit both mornings. The house is just off the main road of Modbury which is a very pretty town. Beth and Chris recommended some great walks to us, washed down with some good pub grub; we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Very central house in this lovely old village - a short walk to ther shops, pubs and countryside as well convenient for drive to gorgeous beaches. Very clean bedroom and ensuite bathroom with good shower. Comfortable bed. Hosts very helpful and friendly. Delicious breakfast made by Beth of toast, croissants or ceral and freshly brewed coffee. No view from the bedroom but despite overlooking the small street, it was quiet at night. Very accommodating to our young dog.

    Jennifer2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay with Beth and Chris. They are very accommodating and willing to help if you need anything. The property is lovely as is the location. The house is very comfortable and clean. The Town itself is very charming and locals very friendly. Would recommend the Modbury Inn and Exeter Inn to have a cheeky drink or some dinner. The welcome book is also very helpful with advice on where to go and things to do. Thank you very much to both of you and not forgetting Finn.

Beautiful, quiet, spacious and cosy contemporary stone cottage, located midway between the stunning beaches on the South Devon coast and lovely walks on Dartmoor National Park to the north. Set deep in the gorgeously lush South Devon countryside and great for families and couples who want to get away from it all and for adventurers, walkers, business travellers and your furry friends (pets). Private and tucked away, surrounded by 60 acres, yet close to the village with its lovely pub.
Stable Cottage is a pretty detached spacious stone cottage, tastefully decorated, self contained and private, with little touches that make your stay comfortable. Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, private and cosy with central heating and a lovely wood burner. Cool in the summer, warm in the winter, approached via a long private track to your own parking area and a lovely suntrap garden (table, chairs and barbeque), steps and a path through the garden to the entrance. The Cottage is detached and completely separate and private from our own ancient farmhouse. The large kitchen/breakfast room is well equipped with cooker, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and a downstairs loo. The spacious sitting room has two comfy sofas, TV, DVD player, Sony hifi with CD player, board games, wifi broadband and a wood burner for those cosy winter evenings. Two sets of doors overlook the front courtyard area. Spacious, well equipped kitchen/breakfast room with dishwasher, cooker, fridge and microwave with door to sun room. Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and large additional fridge-freezer. Separate downstairs cloakroom with loo and basin. The light and spacious pretty double bedroom has a Juliet balcony with double doors and lovely views across the fields, hanging space and chest of drawers. The double bed has a quality comfortable mattress, cotton sheets and white fluffy towels and there is room for an occasional, fold-down single bed and/or travel-cot if required. The second bedroom has twin beds with fresh cotton sheets and fluffy white towels, a built in cupboard, and a velux window. There is a separate bathroom with loo, basin, bath and power shower over and airing cupboard. On arrival we will give you the basics including a cake to go with your tea and coffee, milk, fresh eggs (usually from our chickens) and fresh flowers. Situated on Barons Hill Farm, our much cherished family home, located outside Avonwick village in the beautiful South Hams region of South Devon. Stable Cottage has been stylishly converted from an old stable block and is close to but detached and private from our own ancient stone farmhouse. Nestling in the centre of 60 acres of stunning Devon countryside, a small paradise away from the hubbub of the outside world. Delicious spring water, we have chickens, ducks and geese, alpacas Reg and Armando, our much loved horses Lilly, Newbie and Sharkey and our dogs Charlie the Labrador and Twiglet the (rather overweight) Dachshund! A great base between Exeter and Plymouth and a marvellous spot for exploring the South Hams and Dartmoor National Park, with so much to see and do here in South Devon for all age groups. Stable Cottage is dog friendly. Please note the House Rules for any additional charges for linen and dogs which may apply to you, thank you.
This is a wonderful unspoilt area of the South Hams yet we are not far from Avonwick Village and close to stunning beaches in Salcombe and at Mothercombe. There is surfing at Bantham beach and we are a short drive to Dartmoor with its spectacular scenery and walks. Avonwick itself is a lovely village with its lovely pub and small garage, not to mention some other excellent pubs in the area with great food including the Turtley Cornmill, and The Anchor and The Ship at Ugborough to name but a few. Totnes, Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Exeter and Plymouth are all fairly close thanks to a good road network and the A38 Expressway.
  • Lovely accommodation, great location and friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend.

    Sarah2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, clean AirBnb in a good location for exploring the surrounding area. We stayed two days and visited Bigbury, Burgh Island and Salcombe. The bedrooms were clean and cosy. The kitchen had good amenities and the lounge had toys for our daughter to enjoy. One night I woke at 4am and popped out to look at the night sky. Wow. So many stars thanks to the lack of light pollution. In summary: Very welcoming hosts. Recommended place to stay. P.S. We also brought our dog who grumbled about not being at home, but you can’t please everyone.

    Myles2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay!

    Chloe2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great 5 day stay at the cottage. It had everything we needed for a relaxing break and was a great location for beaches and getting out on our bikes. Thank you for the tips on things to do in the local area and lovely cake etc on arrival.

    Fran2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect for our stay. We enjoyed the quiet and explored child friendly activities in the area, such as the beach, penny hill farm and on a rainy day house of marbles. Lovely home and lovely welcome pack. Plus the toys for the kids and stair gate to keep 18month old off the stairs were all reasons why we chose to stay here.

    Joanna2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I, including two young boys and dogs, had a great stay. The place was lovely, well kept and equipped, spacious, and in a great location within easy reach of many of South Devon’s beaches and in-land walks/activities. Rupert and Lisa made the stay special with being so welcoming, offering advice regarding the local area, and the extra little touches upon arrival. We will be back!

    Dean2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We just spent four nights at the Cottage with the family and we loved the property. Lisa welcomed us on the first night with a lovely Lemon drizzle cake and we talked about the local area and must-see attractions. The Cottage is located on a farm with secure areas for dogs and kids so we felt safe at all times and we came and went as we pleased making sure to close the gate each time. A few of the appliances (namely shower) could do with a modernisation and change but it felt very much like home. As a six-footer plus the Double bed was cosy! We would gladly visit again and spend more time in the South Hams and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Cottage and Hosts!

    Phil2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Rupert’s cottage. The amenities, location and space overall were great and appreciated the extra touches like cake and flowers.

  • Perfect place for a tranquil, uninterrupted, romantic stay. Although the log burner entirely too sleep inducing and feel like we lost half the stay, (asleep in front of it). Ohh well will have to make up for it next time. Everything you’d need for a lovely relaxing break. Will hope to return perhaps when not raining to see some of the surroundings.

  • Cool lodge - clean, comfy beds and the log burner is a very cosy addition (needed on cold nights) Richard was very friendly and informative of local places Would recommend!

    De Muntfordio2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Much bigger than expected, lovely cosy space with vinyls and player, board game chest and fire was excellent. Difficult to fault! (Postcode is wrong so make sure you ask Richard for directions)

    Charlie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful spot for two of us and our doggo. I got a bit lost on the way as my sat nav dropped me up the road a bit but Richard was super quick with his response and great directions. He left a bowl of food for our dog which was so sweet and perfect because it was late by the time we got in and our dog ran straight over and had his dinner before we'd even unpacked! The log fire was super cosy and easy to light, and we popped some blues on the record player whilst we were cooking dinner; it's such a cosy cottage. The bed is AMAZING, huge and really comfortable, I passed out straight away! The bath takes a while to fill up, but when it does, it's brilliant and can fit two people. Plus, it's a jacuzzi bath which was lots of fun :) Dartmoor isn't far away but the eco-cottage was so lovely that our dog tired himself out from us throwing the ball up and down the field right outside. I had a great time entertaining myself on the trampoline too and the views are amazing whilst bouncing up and down! 10/10 would come again as it was the perfect relaxing weekend before starting work again in the new year. Thank you so much for a fabulous stay, Richard!

  • Lovely place. I would highly recommend. Really nice and warm and the fire is a really nice touch. Were were only three for one night but if you're there longer it's worth noting that there isn't a freezer. Great place though with a huge jacuzzi bath and some fun board games!

Sleeps 4 + cot Waterfall Cottage is a stone built cottage set on the 28 acre Colmer Estate in the beautiful South Hams. The Colmer Estate dates back over 700 years. The property is ideally situated for Salcombe, Modbury, Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, Bigbury-on-Sea. The cottage has an open plan living space with a stable door leading to a private terrace with BBQ and seating overlooking the beautiful shared outdoor swimming pool.
The terrace is the perfect place to sit back and take in the views of the majestic trees within the grounds of the Colmer Estate. This view is really quite special and one that persuaded us to buy the cottage, well that and the lake, the wildlife, swimming pools and it's close proximity to both the sea and Dartmoor National Park. After viewing properties for over a year this is the one that both we and our children fell in love with. Guests of the cottage have full use of all of the facilities which include: - an indoor pool which is open all year round - an outdoor pool open (end of) May- (beginning of) September - an all-weather tennis court - table tennis table - fitness gym (over 16s) - walled garden with children’s play area and pavilion - private lake and woodlands - wildflower meadow
A beautiful location in the South Hams. The cottage is in a rural setting within a short (less than 20 minute) drive of the sea and the Dartmoor National Park.
  • Lovely & quiet. Lots of games, books & other things for kids if you have them. Perfect for all. Would stay again

    Michele2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautifully, sparkling clean, modern cottage which was so well equipped with lovely thoughtful touches for our arrival. I think there’s 20 or so cottages on this site, but we felt this one was the most ideally located! A balcony overlooking the outside pool with direct access to it & directly opposite the indoor one! We had the indoor pool to ourselves every time we used it! Exceptionally beautiful grounds, which was ideal for walking the dog but not a great deal of places to let the dog off, which was fine for us as we were aware of this. Plus there are so many beaches to explore so not really a prob! Highly recommend North Sands if you are taking the dog; absolutely stunning beach and safe! Highly recommend The California Inn for food & drinks! Not the cheapest but staff, service and food great! Plus it takes less than 10mins to walk there. We’ll definitely be returning...

    Julie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z

    Natasha2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Everything has been thought through so carefully and there is so much to keep you entertained. My daughters were thrilled with the books & games and the indoor pool is fabulously clean and really warm. We stayed through storm Dennis and didn’t much care that the weather was so bad! The grounds are very are beautiful with lovely walks and the patio overlooks the outdoor pool which would be a fantastic place to sit in the warmer weather whilst supervising children in the pool. Lovely! Highly recommend!

    Cecilia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cottage with both the outdoor and indoor pool next door. A lovely balcony with a barbecue for using too. Unfortunately we were unable to use the it as we came in December/ January and the weather was wet! The cottage is very well equipped and the little touches, with the games, books and toys were a nice touch. The bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable. There was everything we needed and we were close to Dartmouth, Blackpool Sands and Bigbury beach, all of which we visited. I would highly recommend this cottage.

    Teresa2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, clean and lots of extra amenities such as indoor pool and gym. There is an outdoor pool but obviously closed at this time of year. Got a little lost finding the cottage but this was mainly to the fog and we didn't get there till dark. Lovely estate with lots of grounds and history. Also Plymouth and attractions such as South Devon Railway were easy drives. Highly recommended, I imagine even more amazing to see in the summer with gardens and wildlife.

The location is great, with lovely grounds and easy access to the warm indoor swimming pool (the outdoor pool was closed for the winter during our stay).

  • This is beautiful, clean, warm cottage. The pool and playground were great for the kids. We had a very peaceful and relaxing break. Thank you Mike and Jane!

  • Great little cottage, with superb facilities and location.

  • The cottage was fabulous and cosy, great for kids and lovely and clean. The indoor pool was great fun and the huge walled garden with kids play equipment and games room is amazing! We loved how well maintained the gardens and properties were and the quick responses if there was a problem such as locking ourselves out! All in all a cosy little spot with a great vibe.

  • Great location and hosts

    Sophie2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Super amenities, and lots of personal touches. We made great use of the indoor and outdoor pools and the gym. Local beaches were super for surfing, food and safety. Thank you.

  • A fantastic little gem. The swimming pools were superb and the fishermen in my family loved the lake. The cottage had everything you needed and the cream tea supplies on arrival were lovely. It’s a great base for exploring Devon.

A small room with comfy double and one single bed. Ideal for a couple & child, or friends sharing, in a rural thatched farmhouse. We adjoin a nature reserve and regularly hear owls from this room! The bathroom is private & across the hall. Tea etc
The farm house is built from straw bales and timber frame and runs mostly on solar power for heating and hot water. The Owl Room is on the first floor up fairly easy wooden stairs. There is a small chest of drawers and tea and coffee making in the bedroom.
We adjoin a beautiful nature reserve and have much wildlife on the farm, owls, crows, ravens, finches, warblers, dormice, bats etc We are about 5 miles from the beautiful sandy beaches at Bantham and Bigbury good for surfing and rockpooling.

The Oak Nest is a wild private area of the farm adjoining a 100 acre nature reserve. We replaced the beloved bell tent with our shepherds hut for 2018 it is off grid and is comfortably furnished with a double bed, nearby private compost loo and alfresco hot shower and covered cooking/washing up area. There is a nearby parachute shelter over a fire pit. An ideal setting for peace, wildlife and outdoor living, but cosy and close to beaches and the moor. Certainly Far From The Madding Crowd!
The sun comes up over the nature reserve and the shepherds hut has a beautiful view over wildflower moorland. We built it from recycled materials and I use it myself when lambing in March and April. Clean and tidy now for guests but there are tell tale signs of its authenticity if you peer underneath! The mattress is very comfortable and all basic cooking /kitchen requirements are supplied along with tea coffee eggs on arrival. Bedding, linen and towels are provided but we can offer a reduction if you bring your own. We can provide charging for mobile phones at the barn. A decking area with table is a romantic place to have meals and there is a fire pit/campfire area. There is space for friends to put up tents, please ask us about this and we will give you charges at the time. It is also possible to put our little gypsy caravan in the Oak Nest by the shepherds hut for older children or another couple please ask. It is an ideal space for a couple who dont have their own tent but want to enjoy the outdoors. The camp fire area can accomodate a group and there are further compost loos in an adjoining field..
We are a 45 acre small holding and we adjoin Andrews Wood Nature reserve which is run by Devon Wild Life trust. We are in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Drive to Central Dartmoor is about 30-40 minutes and the beautiful beaches of Bantham and Bigbury for surfing and rockpooling about 5 miles. Transition Town Totnes is about 10 miles away. Sailing is available at nearby Salcombe also about 10 miles.. There is a pub and garage with shop within walking distance.
  • Janet is a very helpful and hospitable host. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances,we had to leave soon after arrival. Janet was sympathetic and understanding. The location is beautiful and the hut is charming and has everything you would need for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

  • This is a magical spot - unspoilt and peaceful. The Shepherd’s Hut is cosy and well equipped - there is no choice but to kick back and relax! This was one of our favourite nights away ever - just the sounds of the wildlife to enhance the peace. Janet and Simon are wonderful hosts and the facilities are fabulous - the bed is warm and snug and the outdoor shower beneath the oak tree is brilliant (and toasty!) xx

  • Perfect! We just fell head over heels in love with the whole place. Location is beautiful and is close enough to local beaches for a day out. Sweet Shepherds Hut that stays lovely and warm with plenty of space and a very comfortable bed! Just ideal for that off grid break. They had supplied everything you can think of and were very welcoming and helpful. Couldn't fault it!

  • We had an amazing long weekend at the Shepard's hut. It was better than expected, totally peaceful and beautiful location. Facilities are great, very well equipped, lots of attention to detail. Having the nature reserve literally next to us was great, lovely walks in the woods. We would definitely come again and worth the 5 hour drive from Manchester.

  • I can't really put into words how magical and special Cuckoo Farm is. We fell totally in love with it - so much so that I decided to propose to my fiancé as we lay in bed watching the world go by from the Shepherds hut. Janet is a wonderful host who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She had brilliant tips for make the most of our stay and exploring the area. The clearing where you stay is totally separate and private from the rest of the farm and although you're only a short walk from the house you feel like you're in your own little world. It's paradise and we'll 100% be coming back again.

  • Firstly, I’d like to say a big thank you to Janet and her husband for their hospitality. I booked the shepherds hut as a surprise for my partners birthday and my expectations were exceeded!!! The hut is amazing and in such a beautiful location. The facilities were great, we had everything we needed and more. I would highly recommend and we will certainly be returning! Thank you so much :) x

Experience the real eco lifestyle in Foxes Den. Its features are the amazing views, hidden away position and possibility of watching deer. It's an off grid experience offering modern comfort and facilities. A spacious cabin with king size bed ,2 sofas, generous shower room with flushing toilet ,a complete kitchen with hob and fridge . Guests love that power and water are by sustainable sources on site and the use of corrugated iron, wood and render in the interior. A perfect couples hideaway!
Foxes Den is a perfect escape for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the countryside in an eco friendly off grid structure. Step into the cabin through the enclosed porch and the cabin is exclusively yours for your stay. From your king-sized bed, you will be able to watch the sun set over the valley, and watch buzzards flying over the field in front of you. If you are lucky, you might see deer grazing, or the field foxes or even a badger. You will find all modern amenities in the cabin, mixed with up -cycled gems like corrugated iron. My aim was to create a comfortable modern space within a rural structure and provide sustainable means of power , light and water, without compromising on facilities expected from a holiday home. All the materials used were to be of a rural Devon source, pre owned , up cycled and reclaimed . The walls are part render, corrugated iron and pallet wood with a wall of windows to the front capturing views of Dartmoor and the stunning sunsets. A unique beech floor rescued from a gym adds individuality to the space. The sitting area has comfortable sofas and a log burning effect gas stove to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. There is a compact dining area with table and chairs to enjoy a meal on. A generous sized shower room finished to a high standard with hot and cold shower, plumbed toilet and plumbed basin add to everyday comfort. The kitchen with all that is needed to prepare meals on a gas hob mean that guests can be totally self contained , and the kitchen even has a fridge. I provide freshly ground coffee tea and sugar and a complimentary breakfast and milk in the fridge. Outside and apart from the views already mentioned is an outdoor dining area and barbecue space. There is intentionally no vehicle access within 50 yards to maintain the wild feel to what is quite a unique experience, so parking is by the swimming pond. Infants are welcome, as are well behaved dogs. (please just check with me first before booking ) If the dates you need are not available, why not check out my other cottage listing on the same property: https://airbnb.co.uk/rooms/13000732?s=51
  • We spent a lovely, cosy evening in Richard's cabin, listening to music and drinking wine and woke to a stunning view of Dartmoor all the while being off grid! The cabin is private and very has everything you might need and Richard was the perfect host. Can thoroughly recommend.

  • Great little cabin away from the world, lovely views and just what you want for a quiet weekend with no TV or Wifi! Perfect base to explore Dartmoor and nearby coasts. Comfy bed and bathroom decent with a nice big shower - only thing to note is pay careful attention to the directions Richard sends you or its very easy to get lost... although that was our fault not his!

    Hayley 2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is beautiful cabin has the most incredible views - and is set back in a secluded spot in Richards field, making you feel really like you are on your own secret hideaway. It has everything you need to be self-sufficient too, and Richard is very responsive, giving us plenty of helpful local tips. A great hideaway!

    Patricia2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a property. The cabin has so much charm and character. Once you get used to the road noise it’s a place where you can completely relax. Watching the sunrise and the night sky in bed was a treat. Richard was a great host with lots of local knowledge and recommendations.
