Secluded country home on 9 acre wooded lot, 30 minutes to downtown Charlottesville . We moved here in June and quickly realized that we had much more space than we needed. There is a spacious den and library that we have converted for guests. It is a large studio space and would be perfect for a couple or a small family. The beds are not separated by doors so you would have to feel comfortable sleeping in an open area with the person you are coming with. Feel free to bring your furry animals.
We have a full size bed and a twin sized daybed . We also have a queen size aero bed that we can pull out if needed. The closet has a wardrobe with hanging features and racks and there are two dressers for your clothing as well as a little sitting room and a piano. We also have a massage seat and leg massage for unwinding. Wi-Fi is available but don’t count on being able to use it for gaming however we don’t have any problems streaming Netflix or Hulu. You are welcome to use the television in the living room and use the kitchen and any of the facilities. We have a lovely back porch with lots of seating and 1/3 of an acre of chain link 6 ft fence with a doggie door for your furry friends . We have two beautiful dogs and they get along with every dog they’ve met. They will bark if they hear strange noises outside but they are not continually barking. Please feel free to bring your sweet furball. They are welcome to stay here while you explore.
We are located about 30 minutes to downtown Charlottesville or 45 minutes to Short Pump / Richmond . Very close to Zions crossroads. Nearby attractions are Monticello, Ashlawn -Highland , Michie Tavern , and Carter Mountain. We are also fairly close to the AT Trail and the skyline Drive and the Shenandoah national Park. This is a nice place to relax while also visiting the places that are a little more urban. We are only eight minutes to the I-64 interstate. We are east of Charlottesville and west of Richmond. Lake Monticello is about 15 minutes away.

  • One of the sweetest and most generous host’s we’ve stayed with. I don’t normally write reviews or stay in places where amenities are shared but for Erin I will make an exception! I honestly felt so comfortable in her home and with her pups. Would recommend to anyone looking for calm and quiet in this cozy area.

    Jordan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • My room was quite large and very comfortable. It was situated in a private part of the house. Erin is a gracious host and always available to help with pretty much anything. She has two dogs who went out of their way to make sure I felt welcome. All around a great stay!

  • Great Airbnb experience with Lydia and Pablo. My stay had all the extra touches. Lydia and Pablo went out of their way to give a wonderful stay. Breakfast was fabulous and our breakfast conversation was even better.

    Dean2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay at Lydia and Pablo's home. They went above and beyond to make us feel like family, from providing all of the great local spots to eat and wineries to visit to setting up the fire pit and putting the wine on ice before we returned from dinner. Their culinary skills are top notch, with one of the best breakfasts around! The bed is very comfortable, the back porch an ideal oasis, and the overall location great for exploring the local area.

    Joe2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lydia and Pablo are excellent hosts. The house is beautiful and on a quiet street. Lydia was very helpful by allowing us to check in early as we were traveling for a wedding. The room is clean, The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows, and we had our own towels. Lydia also provides breakfast; sadly we had to decline due to a family obligation but we took some freshly baked cake and it was delicious. Great couple nice room, we had a good experience.

    Robert Sean2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lydia and Pablo are a very welcoming couple and an even better pair in the kitchen! Although we we arrived late and left early the next day, we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and conversations. Lydia is very attentive to details to make sure you have everything you need.

    Maria2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly host! Above and beyond! Thanks Lydia and Pablo!

    Jill2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed getting to know Lydia and Pablo. What a friendly couple! And the breakfast was delicious!

    Rick2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lydia and Pablo were great hosts and went out of their way to be accommodating. It was especially nice to have a great breakfast included with the stay and to be able to arrange for a very special, gourmet dinner the night we arrived. The countryside around Palmyra and Charlottesville is beautiful and we enjoyed a visit to Monticello, which is only a 10 minute drive from the BnB.

The bed was comfortable and it was more home feeling. It’s very peaceful and quiet. No other guests running around, slamming doors etc Just us. Will was great when we knocked on the door at 9pm for some help.

Nancy's Beach House is a charming getaway with private entrance, outside deck and patio amongst beautiful mature gardens. We are located minutes from Monticello, James Monroe's Highland and several wineries. Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen and all the comforts of home. It was originally decorated as a beach house because Nancy felt a beach vibe upon seeing the openness and ambiance of the space. In keeping with the beach house vacation feel, there are games, puzzles and music for you to enjoy.
  • Great location! Easy to get to and close to Monticello and Monroe's Highland. The puzzles, tv, books, and games were great for relaxation after a long day of driving. The house had everything we needed, communication with John was easy, and it was a great location. If I come back to the area, I'd stay here again.

    Kristin2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It's clean but dated which was fine with me. Close to Monticello and James Monroe's Highland which was the purpose of our trip. Nice hikes on The Trail Monticello. A must do is lunch at Michie Tavern. We had a very nice 2 night stay.

    Austin2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Full house with a full kitchen (toaster, oven, stove, microwave) made it easy to cook at home at times we didn't eat out like after a day spent at Shenandoah National Park which is super close as is downtown Charlottesville. Amazing piece of land to explore and enjoy some nature at the Beach house. Great vibes, sound system as well (some great classic rock, blues CDS 😎). The property is smack dab in the middle of wino country (we came for other activities) so definiely go in late spring, early summer for that.

We are cleaning then sanitizing and staggering guests to provide a super clean cottage for our guests. We are following the the ARbnb cleaning protocols. Tranquil Cottage is a brand new, adorable home with all the amenities, located 6 miles north of downtown Charlottesville. It is in the heart of wine and horse country. Walk our country roads, enjoy daytime views of the mountains, and be amazed at the sunsets and night-time stars. We are a small farm-estate. Base price for 2 people.
Tranquil Estate is a very special place where the big sky meets the Blue Ridge mountains. We moved here because Charlottesville is small city that has farm to table values and a countryside which makes you feel like you’re on vacation. The decor is industrial farmhouse and all of the amenities are new; including the beds! We will leave a few necessities in the kitchen like coffee, tea, salt seasonings and olive oil. If I am baking, you will reap the benefits. Look in the freezer for a loaf or two of banana and chocolate chip bread. We have a huge 10+ acre field with horses and cows over the fence. It is a very peaceful property. There is wifi and tv. There is a large table to work on - perhaps write that novel sitting in the back of your head. The property also is the perfect place to paint en plain air...I even have an old Italian easel for you to use!
The cottage is in an area of old barns, rolling hills, dirt roads, newborn calves, and friendly people who wave when they go by. It's 7 miles to Downtown Charlottesville for all kinds of cultural activities, the UVA campus, and wonderful restaurants.
  • So much fun on the farm! So peaceful and relaxing - we didn’t want to leave when our stay was over! We already miss all the animals - they were such good companions. Watched the sunset with the dogs and the sunrise with the donkey! Best Airbnb ever.

    Kelly2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience. Loved being greeted by friendly dogs and a horse when we arrived. Wonderful experience overall.

    Bethany2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a lovely place to stay around Charlottesville! There’s plenty of space and Cynthia provided everything we could have needed! Especially appreciated the little cabinet of games and cards since the WiFi doesn’t accommodate streaming and of course all the dogs and animals ready to greet you!

    Emily2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for letting us stay at the cottage! It was so unique and serene. Perfect location for a private getaway. It was super clean and cozy! We absolutely want to come back for a long weekend!

    Julia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The farm is beautiful, and the guest house was perfect for our girl’s trip!

    Jennifer2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our long weekend stay was very tranquil! We feel like we found a little piece of heaven! We loved the animals and the beautiful scenery. We are locals but felt like we were in a different world during our “staycation” - far enough from the city to see all the stars at night, but close enough to enjoy the local restaurants and grocery stores. It was a truly perfect trip!

    Elyse2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful! Great place to relax.

    Chris2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia’s place was very clean and cozy. It was just what we needed for a quick stay and the bed was extremely comfortable. The morning views of the farm are amazing! Even though it is far out our cell phone service worked great.

Everywhere you look there is a thoughtful “extra” that goes above and beyond. It has everything you forgot to pack and then some! We’ll definitely stay here again. Loved it, and love this little town.

  • Lennice was a great host and provided a fine stay. The room was all that was described and more. Clean and spacious, the room was also quiet and comfortable. She also provided many amenities including high speed internet, tv, and a fine array of breakfast items (including her delicious banana bread). I was visiting family nearby, but the room would have been convenient to Monticello, several vineyards and Charlottesville. I will be back.

  • Lovely stay and the area was beautiful! We had a spacious room with everything we needed. No major issues. We recommend this place for other travelers!

  • Lennice was absoultely wonderful! She always made sure I had everything I needed and went above and beyond, even making fresh banana bread. I would highly recommend staying at this residence. It is a little secluded, but not a far drive from downtown Charlottesville and the vineyards. It was very clean and had it's own private entrance and wraparound porch as well. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

    Danielle2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in the woods and quite with lots of nature and beautiful sunrise. Enjoy your coffee on the deck. Great place inside with all the things you need. Lennice is always available and very welcoming! Fresh baked banana bread is amazing!! I will miss this place! I will the dog Joey!!

Cute and cozy cottage in Keswick on the historic mile. Great setting for getting away or hanging your hat while you visit local attractions!
Cute-as-a-Button Efficiency Cottage, located in the heart of Keswick Horse Country. One room cottage with kitchen, bath, and two twin beds. Conveniently located within 2-1/2 miles of Keswick Hall, 8 miles from Charlottesville, 10-12 miles to UVA, and near local historical attractions: Monticello, Ashlawn, Montpelier and local wineries. Great place to hang-your-hat while visiting the area. Nestled amongst shade trees on the Keswick Historic Mile - route 22. Great location for Parent-Weekend at UVA, Homecoming, Foxfield Races, Horse Events in Keswick, Weddings at "the Hall", wine tours, etc. The cottage is located behind our home on historic route 22/Louisa Road and Clarks Tract. Enjoy all that Charlottesville has to offer, community theater at Live Arts, Four County Players, the Hamner Theater, Black Friars Playhouse, etc. "Fridays After 5" on the downtown pedestrian mall is a must for mingling with the locals or enjoy the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings on Water Street. First Fridays (the first Friday of each month,) is when local art galleries on the downtown mall have open house, or visit the plethora of wineries in the area (Keswick Vineyards is just a few miles down the road on route 231.) Then you may want to consider day trips to Washington, D.C. (2-1/2 hours away to the north-east,) Colonial Williamsburg, VA, (2 hours away to the east,) Richmond, VA (1 hour away to the east,) or beautiful Skyline Drive/Afton Mountain, (45 minutes away to the west.) Our family enjoys jaunts to some of the world's most beautiful caves: Lurray Caverns, Dixie Caverns, and Shenandoah Caverns - all within an hour and a half. Just four miles away, our family owns an antique mini-mall, featuring over 50 vendors of 18th, 19th and 20th century finds. (It's also the source of most of the cottage's furnishings.) But we are just as delighted to share our other favorite antiquing hot-spots! Begin your treasure hunt at A&W Collectables, and there, you can pick up a map to our other favorite antiquing hot-spots!
Keswick is a gorgeous community. Horse farms, wineries, and board fences abound. But the thing I like best about Keswick, is its quirky characters. There's an odd blend of Virginia FFV and good ol' boys, re-emergent ethnic diversity, affluence and stable poverty. Shifting fortunes seem to be taken in stride and there is no lack of local curiosity. It takes a while to meet local flavor. And yes, truth is indeed stranger than fiction. William Faulkner has some interesting quotes about Charlottesville and the area residents - all pretty accurate. :)
  • This place is always perfectly well put together. The host family is lovely the yard is great there are little hidden treasures all throughout the cottage. My son and I absolutely love this place

    Amanda2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is charming. A tiny house experience! The shower was wonderfully bigger than expected. The beds comfortable. And the kitchen had everything we needed. We took nice walks down the road. And enjoyed the beautiful hills and farms.

  • We have stayed at Sofie’s place before, and will again. It is always clean and tidy, and she is lovely. The charming cottage is perfect for our time in Charlottesville.

    Amanda2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint cottage located in the horse country of Central Virginia is suitable for two people with twin beds on both ends of the space. It has everything you could need for a short stint in Shenandoah. Sofie is an incredible host and offers exceptional hospitality to her guests. We felt right at home. And what a beautiful area! Get used to seeing horse pasture and mountains each day of your stay!

    Ron2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was just what I needed for a quick solo getaway. Tiny but cozy - with a friendly host who seems to always have something sweet up her sleeve. Getting to downtown Charlottesville was quick and easy, too!

  • This is a cozy, stylish little cottage in a lovely setting close to Charlottesville. The space is small, but it is very comfortable!

    Sharon2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot say enough great things about the Fox Den. Sofie is a gracious host and engaging - plenty of stories about the neighborhood. Scenery is exactly what you want if you’re looking for a retreat. Certain I will be back soon.

    Austin2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! This is a perfect cozy getaway. The space is always incredibly well-kept and there's always a nice new addition to it every time we arrive. Sofie offers a kindness and hospitality we've not seen before. My partner and I have continued to travel here every year since the first time we booked and we always look forward to the experience.

  • We could not have been happier with our stay at Kelly's place. It was perfect for our visit to Gordonsville. We took care of the business which brought us from WV and then enjoyed visiting the area. The Market at Grelen Kelly recommended was wonderful!. So many dog friendly places to visit. You can expect all sorts of nice amenities and a perfectly clean comfortable space. Being able to bring my dog and then finding a wonderful space for him to be outside fenced in with a nice seating area for us is so rare when traveling with a big dog. Thank you ever so much!

    Anita2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place! Nicely decorated apartment with plenty of cool touches. Everything you need to prepare meals - just bring food! Beds were super-comfy! Nice to have a fenced-in yard for our dogs. We look forward to staying there again.

    Averill2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly's place is warm and cozy! If you choose to sleep in the king size bed be prepared for a blissful rest❤. We were in town for a dog event and she has a small fenced area for potty breaks which was really convenient. The stairs leading up to the apartment were difficult for our oldest dog, so she got carried up and down! No big deal for our younger dogs. The lack of a kitchen sink was only a slight inconvenience because we did not plan to prepare any meals while we were there. All in all it was a very nice place to stay.

    Susan2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay! Cozy and quiet!

    Katie2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved staying with Kelly, Brad and the pups! The guest suite was perfect for our visit and so clean and thoughtfully decorated and prepared, especially for 2 dog lovers like my friend and I. We can’t say enough about how great this sanctuary is and the dogs (and Kelly & Brad’s hospitality) made our stay wonderful in every way! Highly recommend!

    Ashley2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Kelly and Brad for hosting us! We enjoyed our stay at your clean and comfortable airbnb suite!

    Michael2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly and Brad were really good host. Their place is welcoming, cozy, clean, and with special touches. Kelly was really good a communicating about the error that the GPS will to get to the house, so she sent us a text explaining how to get there. She had some snacks and juices for us. I loved that her place was pet friendly, our dogs had they little yard to go out to. There was only a little miscommunication, they turned off the heater by mistake, so we got a bit cold the first night. She apologize the next morning and our second night was perfectly warm. I would definitely stay again in her house which I have to mention too, it has a beautiful view!!!

  • Nice place if you like country settings. It was good pricing for the time I was in the area. Host didn't disturb or bother me unless I requested for something. I would recommend if you are close to the area.

    Kendrick2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a well-kept, quiet place in the countryside, accessed by one of the most gorgeous roads I've ever driven before. The host Jennifer was amazing, as was their cat Simba. All in all, it was a great stay at a great price. I recommend!

  • A lovely private room. A bit far out from attractions or things to do in the area without a car. Very kind family - went above and beyond to help!

    Jodie Ann2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer is the best host I have ever had. She is kind, courteous, and always with a positive attitude. Her home is a very nice place to stay with all the amenities my home has. Very comfortable bed, refrigerator in each room, and even fresh coffee in the morning. I could not have been luckier to have stumbled across this place, Jennifer and her family, and even her awesome cat Simba!

    Darin2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time I have stayed with Jennifer. She is absolutely amazing. Just as before, the house is very clean and the hosts are very hospitable. I had to leave early due to a work emergency and she was very understanding. Would HIGHLY recommend staying with Jennifer!

    Heather2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • The whole experience was much more than expected. Getting into the property and my room was as explained, very convenient. A king size bed with soft and clean linen, bathroom with all the necessary toiletries provided and the room itself with copious drawers are all l can hope for. The neighborhood is very quiet. Everything l needed for my stay to be comfortable was well anticipated and provided. All in all l had a great experience staying at Ms Jennifer’s property. It would be unfair if l don’t mention the cool companionship of my feline friend, Simba. I hope l got the spelling right. I will recommend the place to anyone and will surely do a repeat stay.

“Glamping“ experience on a huge horse and cattle farm with spectacular views. Close to Monticello, Montpelier, numerous wineries, great restaurants, Charlottesville. Gorgeous countryside.
Wolftrap Farm is a 600 acre horse and cattle farm that operates largely as a wedding venue. It has seven vacation rental homes used by our wedding parties or by others just seeking a getaway. We are adding opportunities for guests to enjoy a “glamping” experience. Our Lotus Belle Tent #1 allows you to “camp” in comfort without having to have your own gear. Why is it "comfortable"? It is furnished, including Tempurpedic-type queen-sized bed, eating area, sitting area, electric lights AND air conditioning. There are two shower rooms and outstanding bathrooms at the Pavilion 50 yards away. You have use of deck chairs and a hammock. Cook on the gas grill on your deck or use the microwave in the Pavilion kitchen to heat up your meals. Also, you have shade, and the location is atop a hill where there is usually a nice breeze. The interior of the tent features a queen size bed with 10 inch thick mattress, eating area, electric lights, air-conditioning and heat, and comfortable seating. There is a gas grill on the deck and chairs for lounging. Tent guests use the spacious and comfortable bathrooms in our wedding reception pavilion 50 yards from the tent. There are also separate showers attached to the pavilion. Water is also available at the pavilion, and the refrigerators, microwaves and sinks in the caterers kitchen in the pavilion are also available to tent guests. And the views are spectacular.
The Farm is pretty much it’s own “neighborhood“. The other guest houses are scattered around. You are not so close to any of them that you will hear any noise. The farm is 4 miles from Gordonsville, 5 miles from Orange. You can find anything you need there, including great restaurants, gyms, specialty shopping, antique stores, art galleries and wineries. We are about 15 minutes from Montpelier, about 35 minutes from Monticello, and 30 minutes from Charlottesville or Culpeper. There are a half-dozen wineries within 30 minutes, including Barboursville, Horton, Hona Lea, Keswick and (our favorite) Early Mountain.
  • Great and fun place - we'll definitely be back!

    Matthew2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cute tent, super comfy bed, and the views are superb. You can sit on a little porch in front of the tent and watch the sun set over the pasture and rolling hills. We had beautiful fall foliage. Bonus: fairly close to a wedding site, so you can stargaze while dancing with your loved one on a private dance floor at twilight. Romantic!

    Heidi2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the mountain and sunset views. We are not camping people and really enjoyed glamping. We will be back for sure.

    Chelsea2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I are graduate students living in Charlottesville. To plan for a small getaway trip in our busy, stressful Ph.D. life, we decided to come here. This trip was amazing and we are so glad that we decided to escape from work and screens - just for a night! We really enjoyed this place, and had a great time eating barbecue and playing with the campfire. The bathrooms were very clean, which is a surprise to a camp place! We will definitely recommend this place to our friends living a stressful life in Charlottesville, haha.

    Yen-Yu2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Wolf Trap was so relaxing! The yurt is comfortable, especially with the air conditioner at night, and we stayed there when the temperature was in the upper 80s! The hammock was so relaxing, and watching the sun set over the mountain was incredibly relaxing!

    Beth2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • A best kept secret kind of spot. Relaxing, charming, and beautiful. Great spot for vineyard touring.

    Ryan2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • After spending a few days at the beach, I needed a place to stay while I visited Monticello. This looked fun so I went for it even though I am not a camper. My trip to Wolf trap was the best part of my vacation! I added an extra day. The yurt was completely charming and roomy with comfy furnishings. The view was spectacular. You are very close to a special events pavilion where you can shower and hang out. We used the coffee maker and brought our own pastries for breakfast in the pavilion each morning. I fell asleep in a tree hammock that was super relaxing. We made a fire in the big copper fire pit where we sat both evenings. I didn’t see a soul at the farm during my stay but I didn’t need to because the yurt had everything and messages were promptly returned. It was such a great experience.

    Lisa2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. We were at one end of the large farm property, so very secluded. My husband and I each had a shower room and bathroom. Gorgeous sunset, accented by fireflies. The tent has a comfortable bed, table and chairs. We spent the warm evening outside. I did some laundry in the large sink, and used my clothesline to hang clothes overnight.

  • Beautiful BNB! It's a home away from home. Matt was very responsive and gave us great suggestions of places to visit! The home has beautiful accent pieces and the beds are very comfortable. It was very quiet and peaceful. It had everything you could want! My only suggestion is be careful with the thermostats because it can get very hot! Other than that, it was a perfect place to stay for a trip to Charlottesville. There were wine glasses and bottle openers, great TV options, and an assortment of books and games! The BNB was in a great location with cute chickens in the back. Would definitely recommend and will visit again!

  • My husband and I stayed here and had an amazing time. The place was spotlessly clean and so cozy. Margaret was such a kind and easy to reach host! We really didn’t want to leave, by the end. From the relaxing walk in shower, to the little gas fire, to the amazing view of the woods, to the well appointed kitchen (with half a dozen eggs, butter, cream, coffee, and numerous other things ready to use if needed) and everything else about this place, it was such a peaceful and relaxing visit. We can’t wait to stay here again in the future 🥰 preferably in the summer so we can enjoy that amazing screened porch and outdoor shower! Definitely book a trip here!

  • Love love loved staying here. Such a. wonderful getaway spot. Margaret was great, she gave us some awesome recommendations of local spots to visit. Will be back very soon :)

  • The place is ideal for a weekend getaway! It was pretty clean and was entirely a cute setup. Cheers 🙂

  • Where do I even begin- once I arrived at the beautiful a-frame cabin I was instantly amazed with how beautiful it was from the outside. When you enter the cabin you can see all the hard work and small details Margaret and her husband have put into the Airbnb. Things like oils, fresh farm eggs, cream, coffees, and so much more were all waiting for us Incase we needed them. The farm has beautiful views of the Virginia mountains and luckily we were able to catch the sunset on the night we stayed. Margaret has been once of the best hosts I’ve experienced I definitely want to come back again in the future!

This is the best little, tiny house in the Keswick/Gordonsville area! Great for a couples' get away or a midweek stop to take in the surrounding history. Living area, kitchenette, new bathroom and a separate bedroom, (queen bed) all on one floor! Located in a beautiful area overlooking a pasture just outside Gordonsville, minutes from award winning wineries and historic destinations, 20 minutes to UVA, Monticello, or Montpelier. Five minutes from the picturesque, historic Town of Gordonsville.
The Little House is on a 22 acre property with 2 other houses and can be rented alone or with Shade Tree Cottage. It's a cozy getaway with pasture views and abundant wildlife. The location is perfectly situated for visiting the area's award winning wineries, Monticello, Montpelier and numerous small historic towns. The Little House has just been remodeled with a brand new bathroom and shower, kitchen, living area and a wonderful new Queen bedroom. The covered porch is great for morning coffee or just waiting for the deer to come across the pasture. Easy to find off interstate 64 and Routes 29 and 15. Birds and abundant wildlife are easy to spot around the feeders and the rabbits and deer come out around dusk every night.
Gordonsville is a beautiful little old town with many shops and restaurants. We are less than a mile from "downtown Gordonsville". I have a welcome book at the cottage, with lot's of recommendations for restaurants and area attractions, including local wineries.
  • The Little House was very cozy, comfortable and in a great location for visiting wineries. Spotless clean and Midge even had bagels for us! Very cute place and will be back again for sure!

  • This place was awesome and just right for a getaway in a beautiful area! Would 10/10 recommend for travelers looking for an area with plenty to do and great place to stay!

  • Quaint peaceful place. Comfy bed. Huge field of a yard. Corn hole and a bar b q grill available. Cute screened in front porch with two rocking chairs.

    Serena2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Midge was very accommodating and helpful throughout the process. Her place is a 5 min drive from downtown which has a fun little winery and French place (sadly the french restaurant was not open when we were there). The cottage was very clean and peaceful, exactly what my fiancee and I were looking for. Thanks Midge.

    Trevor2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying on this acreage. Our dog had a lot of fun running in the pasture in front of the house. Lots of wineries around that do great tastings!

    Brandon2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great help with directions and recommendations for food. Good central location. Very responsive to arrival times and had the heat going so we didn’t have to wait to get warm and toasty. We didn’t like the shower but everything was sparking clean.

    Allison2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Little house is quaint and cozy. It’s private and serene. Midge has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. I was able to sit on the screened porch and see a few deer and birds. Very relaxing.

Welcome to a newly renovated private apartment with its own kitchen and bathroom less than a mile from Charlottesville's Downtown Mall.
This efficiency apartment in the basement of an old Cape Cod house on Park Street is available for stays of 30 days or more. The apartment has a separate entrance through the garage and includes its own private kitchen and bathroom.
Park Street is a lovely residential neighborhood with lots of beautiful, historic homes. The Downtown Mall (a bustling pedestrian mall with many dining options and a movie theater) is less than a mile away.
  • This is a great apartment for one with everything you will need! Adam was always available when I needed something or had any questions. Highly recommended!

    Allie2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • This space is clean, cozy, and an easy walk to downtown Charlottesville. I stayed here for several weeks and had a wonderful stay. Adam is a kind and responsive host, and I would recommend this space to anyone looking for a place in Charlottesville!

    Alex2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this apartment as a place to stay during a clinical rotation at University of Virginia. Getting there was very easy, as was check in. The apartment is clean and has good amenities, including a small kitchen space with full sized fridge, microwave, and stove/oven. The bed is very comfortable. In addition, the apartment is located conveniently. It's only a 15-20 minute walk to the downtown pedestrian mall, about 10-15 minutes drive to UVA, and there is plenty to do nearby. I definitely recommend this rental for anyone coming to town, especially if it's for an extended stay. Adam is an excellent host and you'll have a good time.

    Clara2019-05-12T00:00:00Z

Described as 1 of America’s Best Area's For Living Well, Locust Grove, is a lovely part of Charlottesville (described as the best city, to live, in the US) with easy access to parks, restaurants, shopping (grocery & boutique) & within 1.5 miles, a walk (20 minutes) or a bike ride (7 minutes) to the popular Downtown Mall. This terrace level basement suite has a living room, bedroom (with 3 closets), full bath, laundry access, plus a mini fridge, microwave and a Keurig coffee maker.
This one bedroom basement guest suite with a full bath and living area has a private entrance that requires the use of outdoor steps. Three tenants live upstairs, but they will have no access, to your private suite, during your visit i.e. there is a locked door between the upper & lower floor. In addition, the home is next to a (very) busy road, but the interior of the home remains fairly quiet, due to the brick exterior. My husband and I, as landlords, have rented this home for over 10 years & found that the location is a huge plus for tenants.
Our favorite things about the Locust Grove neighborhood include: the beautiful parks nearby (Darden Towe Park for instance), the accessibly of the tree-lined streets for a leisurely stroll, the ease of either a (20min) walk or bike ride to the downtown mall & the close proximity to coffee shops, fantastic restaurants and shopping (many under 2 miles from this home). The University of Virginia is 4 miles from the home & Monticello (the home of Thomas Jefferson) is 5 miles from your Airbnb suite on Otter Street.
  • We were quite cosy in Virginia's apartment. Would stay again.

Get swept away to a Magical Tug/Houseboat! Newly renovated with all modern conveniences, including fully stocked kitchen, full bathroom, AC, heat, & WiFi. The Luxury Tugboat floats on an 8 acre private Lake with an Island on 142 Wooded Acres, with 5+miles of hiking trails. Only our family and our 1 other Listing "The Log Cabin" have access to the Lake and Property.
*Please read entire listing* Our goal is to provide a unique adventure for guests with all the conveniences of home. Our Custom Tugboat was brought all the way from Connecticut! Getting the boat in the water and put back together was it's own adventure! The Tug is at the opposite side of the Lake from our home and our Log Cabin Listing. Guests can drive over the Dam to the other side of the lake where you can park (Paved road except last 1500' is gravel/dirt 4x4 is NOT required). From there you walk a short way through a beautiful wooded trail(1/10th of a mile or 500'). We provide a yard cart to help move luggage or we are happy to help deliver your luggage for you with our ATV. Inside The Tug Boat There is a Galley/Kitchen with cooktop, microwave, coffee pot, full-size refrigerator w/ freezer, utensils and everything for your cooking needs. We do provide coffee, tea, sugar, flour, condiments(Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo) along with spices and cooking oils. The main level: Has a lovely dining area with view of the lake and kitchen, there is a Double Bed located at the stern of the boat. A small full bathroom is also located on the main level of the boat with a full shower and flushing toilet. The Pilot house/upper level: Offers 360 degree views of the Lake and Forest. Accessed from a ladder and trap door within the boat or from the outside stairs. There is a comfy seating area that transforms into a California King Bed. Enjoy your coffee or cocktails on a deck overlooking the water with the best views on the property. This is the spot for stargazing, with no light pollution whatsoever. The Outdoor space: Is very well lit at night by twinkle lights(can be turned off) which makes for a very romantic setting. A beach area sits just outside the Tug to play, launch boats or slowly wade into the water. Kayaks are provided and trails are right outside your door that can be taken all the way around the lake and more! There is a large fire pit with a grate swings over for grilling over wood or charcoal. We sell dry Firewood or you can help yourself to any fallen wood that you can find. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram @lakeglenhaven FAQ: Does the boat rock? Yes, but not much under normal circumstances. Mostly just when someone is getting on or off. Is there Heat and A/C? Yes, there is one window mounted A/C unit on each level and will be equipped with space heaters durning the cold months (It stays quite warm with little effort). Of course the boat will not regulate temperature as well as a home so please come prepared with warm and cold weather clothes. How are the bugs? The Tug boat is in the middle of the forest on a Lake, so yes there will be bugs, frogs, toads, and all that mother nature has to offer. Mosquitos are not bad at all, but bring bug spray anyway. Can you Swim in the Lake? Yes, our family swims here on a regular basis. About 1/2 way to the island the water is much deeper and makes for a nice swimming spot. Is there a motor? No, the boat cannot be moved around the Lake. Is it safe for kids? Please note that while we have done our best to make the Tug safe for everyone, it may not be suitable for all young children. The boat is surrounded by water and forest with many entrances and exits. Please use your best judgement as parents. Is there running water? Yes, there are 2- 50 Gallon tanks of water and a pump that turns on when you open a faucet. If you run out during your stay we can easily fill it back up! We do provide marine safe/ biodegradable soap in the shower and at the kitchen sink. How big are the doors? Please see our pictures and info on under accessibility. Can you jump off the boat? NO! The Tug is docked in 2-3' of water. Is there a grill? The fire pit has a grate that swings over the fire for grilling over wood or charcoal! It is also the perfect setup for S'Mores! Do you need 4 wheel drive? No, after our paved driveway the road turns to gravel and dirt. However, it is hard packed soil and fairly easy to manage for most cars. If you are concerned, you can park on the driveway and we will help you get to the boat. Does boat make noise? You will hear the bilge pumps occasionally test for resistance. They are located in the hull on the front and back of the boat and it sounds like a dull groan.
  • We stayed on the tugboat with our 2 children and had the most wonderful experience. The boat itself is beautiful and the inside is very clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and has everything you could ever need. All we had to do was bring our food! Our children were in heaven! We loved using the kayaks, going on little walks, and visiting the animals on the property. This was a truly unique experience that we all enjoyed! Thank you! We look forward to returning in the future!

    Julia2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for having Julia and I this weekend. It was the perfect place to get off grid, enjoy the outside, and enjoy each other’s company. We broke in the trails around the property, went out on the kayaks, napped in the sunshine in the top tug boat bedroom, lounged on the deck, built a couple fires.... you get it. Would totally recommend and looking forward to coming back with my fiancé :). Sparkling clean, the pillows and throw are so cozy, I couldn’t have imagined a better tug boat experience. Thank you!

    Emily2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ashleigh and Mike were beyond amazing in their hospitality. Sweet touches everywhere and assistance whenever needed. My family was beyond excited about their surprise trip to the tugboat. Truly an experience we'll never forget, but hopefully one we'll get to repeat.

    Michelle2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We rented both the tug and the cabin on Mike & Ashleigh's property and both locations blew our expectations out of the water. They are amazing hosts and worked so well with us before booking, and in between booking and the actual weekend, as well as being available if needed while we were there. Such great touches and the decor has similar vibes that bring it together to make them related properties. Had it not been chilly, I'm sure part of our group would have kayaked across from one to the other without hesitation. We loved being visited by their chickens and ducks as well. The tug is such a unique rental, but I don't recommend it if you are more than say 6'4 or so. Both beds are so comfy and who doesn't love a water view?! Our group loved this getaway and I have a feeling several will be repeat visitors.

    Lauren2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a dream. Absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to come back.

    Michael2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed in a LOT of amazing Airbnb’s but this one tops my list! Just magical! Mike and Ashleigh were wonderful hosts! No detail was left out. Can’t recommend this unique stay enough! One thing to be aware of is the smaller than usual door and walk to the tug. We had no problem at all (enjoyed both really) but if you don’t have great mobility, maybe the cabin on the same property is a better fit! Can’t wait to go back!

    Meredith2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Ashleigh's tugboat is stylish, cozy, and magical. The tug has everything you could want for an unforgettable getaway. From the moment we drove onto their property we were mesmerized. Hundreds of acres of pristine forests with trails, a private island, free range chickens and ducks, a mirror lake, fairy lights, and, of course, their bright red tugboat. We went to Lake Glen Haven to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Ashleigh (and a gaggle of the friendliest and most beautiful ducks you will ever meet!) graciously met us with fresh eggs from her chickens and one of her famous homemade cinnamon breads! Outside of the tug are kayaks for guests to use, a firepit, and plenty of outdoor seating. The inside of the tug is chic and artsy, with bright comfy pillows, eclectic lighting, and plenty of seating areas for your group to enjoy. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glassware, and basic pantry and fridge staples. The lower bedroom was equipped with a DVD player and tv with quite a variety of DVDs to enjoy, as well as a small library of thoughtfully curated books. This bedroom leads outside to a small ladder with access to the upstairs deck and patio. The upstairs is also accessible by a ladder inside the living room/dining area. The upstairs boasts a full 360 degrees of windows for stargazing or lake viewing, as well as a comfy seating area that cleverly converts to a California King bed! Some of the most magical memories from our weekend on the tug involve gazing at the stars with ZERO light pollution. It was spectacular! The pilot house bedroom has a door that leads directly to a large deck and comfy patio furniture, a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine and snacks. Ashleigh and Mike's tug is also loaded with small, thoughtful touches that any guest would appreciate...plush towels, boutique soaps, extra toiletries in case you forget something, a first aid kit, maps of the surrounding hiking trails, fishing poles and tackle box, etc. Mike and Ashleigh are the kindest hosts you will ever meet are literally available for anything you need. We happened to have the opportunity to meet their three children and dog as we were driving into town and fell in love with their sweet family. Their house, along with anothern airbnb listing (an adorable cabin) are located on the far side of Lake Glen Haven. You have complete privacy and are in your own little world on the tug (can't even see their house); however, if you choose to walk some of the trails around the lake, you might spot their family and darling farm animals! :) The tug is located in Louisa, Va, a quaint little town filled with charming coffee houses, eateries, and shops. Louisa is quite close to Charlottesville (UVA) and its historical wonders such as Monticello, many local wineries and breweries, as well as Richmond (VCU) and Harrisonburg (JMU). I couldn't recommend the tugboat or Ashleigh and Mike more. Book now! You won't regret it!

  • Wonderful weekend getaway for my husband and me! Even with cold and rainy weather, we really enjoyed our stay. With the heaters and plenty of blankets, we were warm and relaxed. Despite the smaller space of a tug boat, we had multiple areas to hang out and did not feel crowded at all. The double bed downstairs was a great place to cuddle up and watch a movie or my husband spent time playing his video games. Great experience and we'd love to go back again in the summer to enjoy the water!

  • Excellent location close to downtown. Very affordable and the house itself is great - the water pressure in the shower is amazing! Matt is very thorough in making sure check-in and the entire stay is great. We'll definitely be staying here the next time we're in Charlottesville!

    Josh2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Matt is a considerate host, reaching out before and during your stay to make sure everything is OK. The room is a refreshing alternative to commercial options!

    Kim2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Matt's place was very pleasant and I would definitely recommend it. The room and bathroom was clean and cozy, parking was easy, and Matt was very quick to respond to communication and make sure I had everything I needed for a good stay. It seemed like he had put some thought and effort into being accommodating and making a nice space. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful but it only took us about 12 minutes to walk to the Charlottesville downtown mall. Overall a very good experience.

  • Cute place to stay and great location!

    Anne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, quiet, very clean, and the room is more spacious than it looks in photos. Don't hesitate to stay here.

    Mattie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Matt is a great host and responds quickly to messages. We ultimately weren't able to stay at his place due to illness and he worked with us to get more of a refund than the default Airbnb policy would allow. We'll definitely stay with Matt whenever we're back in Charlottesville - the location is perfect!

    Josh2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! Would stay here again. Matt was a great host as well

    Ashleigh2020-01-20T00:00:00Z

Our place is a newly constructed barn loft in our 1960's barn. Enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding countryside from large windows and a private balcony. The barn is surrounded by our horse pastures and neighboring fields. Self check in with the key lockbox. This loft is separate from the main house where we live. Private parking and entrance for our guests directly outside of barn loft (this is separate from the main house driveway).
One bedroom with queen bed (semi-private with a half wall). Spiral staircase leads up to a loft with two twin beds, easily adapted to queen if desired. Large open living space with full kitchen. One full bath. Laundry closet with washer/dryer.
Our neighborhood is a private road with several large properties on it, great for walks or runs. Just 3 miles down the road is a large park, Darden Towe park, that offers extensive walking/biking trails. These trails run along the Rivanna River and connect to many trails throughout the city of Charlottesville. There are several river access points for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Just past the park is convenient shopping for groceries, coffee shops and several restaurants. The loft is 4.3 miles to Charlottesville Downtown mall and 5.6 miles to the University of Virginia grounds. There are also several vineyards within a 10 mile radius.
  • It was a perfect spot to self distance for a couple of nights. Great for making meals in and quiet surroundings. The place was very cozy and clean.

  • Beautiful loft! We enjoyed our time there very much! Thank you for your hospitality!

    Patty2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is such a sweet place to stay. We loved every inch of the thoughtfully laid out floor plan. We especially enjoyed the sweet touches like extra blankets, comfortable beds, and fresh flowers! Very easy to get into town, but also felt like we were secluded and away, which is what we were after for a 24 getaway.

    Kelly2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little private space just outside of Charlottesville. It was super cute and stylish, convenient, and the host was readily available for questions and recommendations. I hope to stay here many more times.

  • What a wonderful place to getaway from the DC area. The place was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and peaceful. So many details, big and small, that we really appreciated. The fresh flowers, the fresh clean towels, sparkling water, and some local beer left for us in the fridge. We highly recommend and hope to come back at some point . Thank you!

    Monica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

Private suite with natural views, minutes from UVA, the Downtown Mall, Monticello and local breweries. Perfect, central location for Virginia Wine Trail and the incredible local vineyards. Our peaceful, quiet retreat is tucked away from all the hustle and bustle, yet close to all of Charlottesville’s best attractions. The convenient location provides the best of both worlds for vineyard hopping, visiting students, and sightseeing in Cville.

  • Though my stay was short it was very pleasant. The space is welcoming and clean, and the hosts incredibly communicative.

    Alexa2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and accommodating room. Hosts were quick to respond and we friendly when our paths crossed. Location is excellent as you are secluded and able to “unhook” from daily life, but also only 10 minutes away from the charm and amenities that make Charlottesville so appealing.

This is a guesthouse so other guests might be present in other rooms. Be aware that you may not be the only person here. We as hosts may be not present at all times to greet you; however, we will be available as needed. Me and my wife live downstairs in the basement and may be busy with work when guests arrive if you have any question please message. You may park on the street if there is space or in back if no space available. The keys are available in the key box and I will message the code.
Once again, this is a guesthouse so you will have the opportunity to meet with other guests and possibly make new friends.
Very close to downtown mall and UVA so everything is accessible within distance.
