Holiday houses in Saint-Séverin

We had a fantastic holiday with our 2 kids (3yrs & 10 months). They both had their own room & Sarah had foreseen a baby crib with a very good mattress. The house was really good with everything we needed. The pool is very big & the first part is all 75 cm where our daughter could stand. We visited two small beautifull cities (both 15min drive) & also Angoulême (45 min drive). There is a minigolf & pizzeria on 1 min walk. Communication with Sarah was very easy. she’s a super host! Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par Caroline, elle a été attentive à notre bien être et notre confort durant toute la semaine. Nous avons trouvé en arrivant de quoi « manger et boire » ce qui nous a beaucoup facilité le démarrage de notre séjour. Le niveau d’équipement est supérieur à ce qui est annoncé : grandes serviettes de bain + serviettes de piscine moelleuses, dosettes de café, petit déjeuner complet, tisanes et thé, mobilier de jardin et de repos confortable, grand jardin privatif. Pour regarder les JO le grand écran était parfait ! L’espace piscine est particulièrement joli et bien réussi, l’aménagement est très relaxant. Les espaces pour les différents logements sont bien distincts et permettent l’intimité de chacun. Nous repartons avec de bons souvenirs de chaque endroit dont nous avons profité chez Caroline

Very attractive setting, large garden and plenty of well designed outside space to enjoy the sun. We were unlucky with the weather, but the stylish and spacious living area meant we had plenty of room for indoor relaxation. Nicki and Bill were extremely helpful with everything and we have never had so many interesting books, games and activities available to keep everyone amused from table football and ping pong to pizza making! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Absolutely wonderful stay at this chateau. 16 friends stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting the area for a wedding and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed! The bedrooms are all very large, there are more than enough bathrooms throughout the chateau and the social rooms are fantastic. The garden is lovely and very large. Georgina and Owen were brilliants hosts. They were very quick to respond to any questions before the visit and during and had really useful local knowledge for shops to go to. They were extremely accommodating around checkin and checkout times and we couldn’t have asked for more from them. They were on hand for any issues we had at the chateau. I’d highly recommend this lovely chateau to anyone visiting the area with a large group. You would definitely need hire vehicles given how rural the location is but it makes it even more remote and relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Our stay was great! Derk and his wife were very attentive and warm hosts, who welcome us and explained all about the region. The house corresponds to the pictures: it is beautiful, comfortable and cozy, has all the needed appliances for a pleasant stay in the countryside. Bathroom and shower are really good quality, living room extremely comfortable with a nice woodfire and the TV is actually larger than you can tell from the pictures. The garden is the highlight of the house, with a stunning view and a relaxing outside area for meals. The villages in the region are nice, with little shops, restaurants and sight seeing. Great recommendation for relaxing vacations! We would definitely like to stay in the Gite again in the future :) (and we love Ramsi, the golden retriever). Thank you Derk and family, we had a great time!

Heel fijne glampingervaring. Handig ingerichte safaritent, moderne en ruime badkamer, alles voorzien van de benodigdheden voor een aangenaam verblijf. Het domein is heel kindvriendelijk. Er is een schommel, zandbak, speelhuisje, trampoline, afgesloten zwembad. De aanwezigheid van de dieren was ook heel leuk voor onze kinderen. Het dagelijks meehelpen met de verzorging van de dieren, was een absoluut topmoment. De omgeving is bovendien erg rustgevend: uitgestrekte velden, prachtige sterrenhemel bij helder weer, de stilte. Sandrine en haar man waren zeer sympathieke, vriendelijke en gepassioneerde hosts. Ze waren gastvrij en heel lief met de kinderen. Een pareltje voor wie houdt van rust. Zowel als tussenstop als voor een lang verblijf een echte aanrader!

Jo et Gary sont de super hotes, très attentifs au bien être des guests. Le logement est tres bien equipé et confortable. Nous avons apprécié la tranquillité de l'endroit (peu de passage sur la route qui menait au gite), et surtout la piscine qui proposait une baignade à une temperature confortable. Il y a une tres bonne boulangerie dans le village de Saint-Severin et le joli village d'Aubeterre-sur-Drone est proche, si on veut faire un petit tour en voiture. Au final, c'est un tres bon endroit pour un séjour relaxant.

This was one of the most amazing, if not the most amazing, air bnb experiences I have ever had. First, the location is incredible. You feel like you were placed in the middle of an ethereal countryside with nothing but rolling hills, the sound of birds, a gentle breeze and an occasional hello from the hosts smiling sweet dog Ella. Second, the house itself is exactly like the pictures on the listing, if not more beautiful in person. You can tell Sara has worked as a designer because the interior decor is stunning. Everything is so comfortable and clean and forces you into a state of relaxation immediately. Lastly, Sara herself is an angel. She will do anything in her power to make sure your stay is as peaceful and stress free as possible. I have never had a more helpful yet non-invasive host on Airbnb. If you are looking for a magical retreat into the gorgeous French countryside I couldn’t recommend this place more. I would plan a trip back to France simply for this air BnB. 1000/10!!
