Holiday rentals with a patio in Salt Rock

This was one of the best Airbnbs I’ve stayed at in Durban! The home is absolutely beautiful, stylish, spacious, and impeccably clean, with breathtaking views that made the stay even more special. You can really tell that care and attention to detail went into creating a welcoming space. A couple of small suggestions for improvement: the couch could use a deep clean or reupholstering, as it had a bit of a worn look and lacked that fresh, clean scent. The cushion inners were also quite flat, so replacing them would really bring the lounge area back to life. I stayed in the bedroom facing the passageway, and I’d recommend adding block-out curtains or blinds , the hallway light filters into the room at night, which made it difficult to sleep. That said, everything else was outstanding, and I’d absolutely stay here again. With just a few tweaks, this place would be perfection!

Great stay. Beautiful property, staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient. Our host was welcoming and attentive. We enjoyed our time here and would stay again.

The views and sounds of the Indian Ocean were spectacular. The master bedroom and a secondary bedroom both had sliding door access to the large balcony. We were close to shopping and restaurants on Ballito. We went on a couple of excursions but the meeting point was about 45 min to an hour away, depending on time and traffic. The meeting point was down at south beach, close to the magnificent soccer stadium. This unit is on the third floor; there is no elevator, just in case you have problem with stairs. The property attendants were helpful and friendly as they assisted me with getting my luggage up to the third floor. All in all it was a wonderful vacation and would definitely stay at Melanie’s place again.

Alan’s an amazing host! I had a great time! The place is gorgeous! In a very quiet area. Went to Plato and the Fig tree, the food and drinks were amazing! Would definitely recommend!

The apartment was beautiful with a stunning view of the ocean. Everything was clean and posh. Furniture and fittings were modern. The patio was spacious with plenty of entertaining and relaxing space. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful astetic, beautiful scenery in with warm and vibrant views. Very centralized close to all amenities. This is a very beautiful loft apartment with good and security and a quick check in and check out process. Simply amazing and is a must visit !

We had a great time at Bronwyn's place. Sitting on the deck, whether it was staring at a thunderstorm over the ocean or having a big family meal was a real treat. The house had lots of private spaces and was easy to move around in.

Great open plan & spacious home! The master bedroom particularly stands out! The estate is great with a variety of places to eat and explore. Appreciated the facilities as we had a toddler so this made life a lot easier.

Loved the apartment, really comfortable and the location was wonderful, so close to the boardwalk and ocean and near the little town of Ballitoville. Really great place!

Rene was a suburb host, checked in to make sure we got there save and if we needed anything. Her home is beautifully decorated and clean, we felt right at home. It is walking distance to the beach. We had a fantastic time, if you dont want a beach day, the inviting pool is a great pleace to relax.

We had an amazing time staying at this beautiful place in Ballito. The house was super comfortable and in a perfect location, close to shops and beaches. The hosts, Calvin and Rochelle, are generally the kindest and most genuine people you will probably ever meet. This was a 10/10 experience and I reccomend this place to anyone looking for the perfect stay in Ballito.

This home had excellent accommodation for our large family gathering. The 8 bedrooms are spread across 3 floors - 3 top, 3 ground and 2 on the lower level, which is only accessible from outside (not ideal for children). The bedrooms are all large, each with a spacious and elegant en suite. The interior and exterior living spaces are extensive and well laid out, with plenty of lounge seating and dining tables. The top floor and ground floor both have large, furnished decks. The Zimbali estate offers access to fantastic facilities, including multiple pools spread across the estate and various sports activities. The beach is accessible, but is non-swimming at Zimbali. There are strict estate rules (eg entry gate, speeding, noise, etc), but none that affected the enjoyment of our stay. There were a few minor issues (eg not enough keys, communication), but not quite enough to lose a star. Overall, we had an awesome and enjoyable long weekend.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at La Mer No4. The unit is clean,spacious and so stunning with all the modern finishes and homely touches. Thandi was so warm and welcoming and kept the place so neat and tidy. I highly recommend for families and couples who are looking to enjoy the beauty of Ballito and surroundings in a home away from home. The apartment was spotless and very well maintained — we really appreciated the attention to cleanliness. I had such a great weekend at Denise’s place! It was clean, it smelled amazing, it was exactly as shown in the images. The views were breathtaking. The place was safe and the host communicated so well throughout my stay and also recommended great eating places. The star of the weekend was Thompson Bay Beach just down the road! I will definitely book with Denise again.

What truly made this experience stand out was Janine, the host. From the moment I booked, her communication was exceptional—warm, funny, and refreshingly down-to-earth. She checked in every day with genuine care and good humour, making sure I had everything I needed and even sharing great local tips. Her friendly, light-hearted personality made me feel so welcome — it was like connecting with an old friend! The apartment itself had so many thoughtful touches: a well-stocked kitchen with a variety of spices, cooking oil, plenty of washing liquid, and all those little extras that are so often overlooked. I didn’t have to worry about a thing—it truly felt like a home away from home. I will absolutely be staying here again!
