Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Salt Spring Island

We had a wonderful stay! We loved that there are trails accessible by foot from the cabin. (Just walk up the gravel road about 3 minutes.) We discovered that a great morning routine for us was to have coffee, walk through the forest, enjoy the morning light on the ocean, and head back to the cabin for breakfast. Peaceful and relaxing :) Henny is a great host. She shared a ton of wonderful information about places to go and yummy restaurants on the island. The cabin itself is cozy, charming, and quiet. The bed is comfortable, a high priority for me! We also appreciated that we could bring our dog and that she could be off-leash in the grassy area around the cabin.

Lovely house with amazing deck to relax and great views. Erik gave a passionate introduction at the check in that would make you want to stay for much longer. The perfect nature getaway!

Priceless views and amazing architecture are showpieces of this magnificent home that combines coziness, elegance, comfort and rustic charm. We’ve stayed at many airbnbs, but this one is a new favorite. It’s an ideal getaway for the whole family; plus it’s close to interesting hikes and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked for eating at home. We didn’t enjoy the taste of the well water, but bought drinking water at Tru Value. Carley was very responsive and helpful throughout. We would love to come back in the summer.

We enjoyed a four night stay at Gabrielle’s house. It is a beautiful spacious house with beautiful views over the water. There is a big deck with plenty of seating including a dining set for those warm evenings. There is access to a private dock which is great for fishing. It is up water from the ferry terminal at Long Harbour so there was very little traffic on the water, ideal for fishing or just enjoying the peace and quiet. We even enjoyed a visit from a local deer, grazing quietly on the banking by the garage. The house is clean and has a very well equipped kitchen and ample seating. Bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. In the lounge there were books and guides plus a few games to suit all ages plus pbinoculars to study the wildlife. Food shops, restaurants and other facilities are a 10 minute drive into Ganges and there is a local market on Saturdays with a selection of artisan stalls. Gabrielle was a very responsive host, and easy check in/out Certainly recommend.

The Ravens nest is perfect. Clean, quiet, friendly hosts. We stayed a week and didn't want to leave. The space is well laid out with a small sitting room at the front with a view of the entrance to Active pass and Miners Bay. There are loads of extras like condiments in the fridge, coffee pods (2 per day) sugar, food wraps, etc. Tim and Patti were very friendly but never intrusive. Although the suite is on the bottom level we never really heard any sounds from them. I recommend 100 percent. Thank you Tim and Patti!

Beautiful location and a wonderful stay if you’re looking for peace and quiet. Marlene did an excellent job providing information about the suite and making sure it was in perfect shape for our stay. Would also recommend to those interested in going on day trips as it’s right between Victoria and Nanaimo and only a 3-4 hour drive up to Tofino!

The Valley View Suite could have been called “A little bit of paradise” with wonderful views, a clean spacious suite and an obliging hostess. We had a wonderful stay and would return again.

We had such a lovely stay at Dal’s place! The king sized bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. The shower had great water pressure, which is always a plus, and the whole suite was clean, cozy, and welcoming. The outdoor seating area was a definite highlight. We spent time enjoying the sunshine while watching deer graze nearby, with a charming peek-a-boo view of the ocean in the distance — so peaceful and serene. Location-wise, it couldn’t be better. It’s just a short walk to the Saturday market and local shops, yet far enough away that it still feels quiet and private. We felt extremely safe the entire time, which made it all the more relaxing. Dal was also a good host, offering helpful local recommendations that we really appreciated. Would absolutely stay again!

We loved this place. The view of cowichan bay and the marina are spectacular and cowichan bay in itself may be the cutest place we’ve ever been. Lots of great restaurants nearby and great for just strolling around. Astrid made an earlier check in possible which was great and the apartment was very clean and nicely decorated. We felt right at home! Highly recommend

We had a wonderful stay at Jane’s ! The suite is close to the the Cowichan Valley Trail ( part of the Trans Canada Trail ) which we cycled for 2 days. Also close to town and restaurants and the famous totems of Duncan. Lots of lovely touches and a very comfortable bed . Would highly recommend Jane’s air bnb .

Two words gorgeous views!!! Looked forward to having my cup of coffee on Kelley & Kent’s patio every morning. A very peaceful location tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Ganges, but still less than five minute trip into town. Both Kelley & Kent were very welcoming and accommodating to our early check in. Their air bnb had all the amenities you could need to make you feel right at home. Beds were super comfy! I would HIGHLY recommend booking this accommodation, you won’t be disappointed! :) Enjoy!

THe apartment exceeded expectations. It was so spacious, sunny and with a great view of the water. The building was grand and very quiet. It was also near the town of Sidney and ferries going to multiple places. My mother and I both had a wonderful time staying here. Neighbors we met were friendly. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the light change on the water and enjoy the lovely weather we had all week. We were only sorry to leave when it was time to go home!

Host waited for us despite are delayed arrival in order to give us an exceptional welcoming and thorough guide in order to have a comfortable stay with full amenities .

The beautiful condo made a big contribution to our enjoyment of the lovely Salt Spring Island. It was comfortable in every way possible, from the beds, to the well stocked kitchen and the great deck overlooking the ocean. There were many thoughtful touches that you seldom see in an Airbnb such as extra towels and linens, laundry detergent, spices, Netflix, easy access door code and many other things. Vesuvius is well located for everything you could want to do on the Island and we would definately stay in the condo again.

Debbie's place was in a great location - 5 minute walk from the ferry and an easy walk to shops and restaurants. It was clean and comfortable. Make sure you ask right at check in for the murphy bed to be unlocked if you will need it (I had let her know ahead of time, but still had to ask when we got there for it to be unlocked)...that would be a mess if you find out that it is locked late at night when you're ready to get into bed. There is some road noise for the person sleeping in the living room, but it mostly disappeared after 10 PM and the white noise machine I brought with me took care of it before then. Overall, the place was perfect for our needs

We enjoyed our stay here. We were looking for something quiet and comfortable and this certainly met our expectations. It’s is secluded but only about 10-15min drove from Duncan. My only recommendation would be to keep some cards/board games for guest to use as there is not much in the immediate area for activities. Side note: visited “Just Jake’s” restaurant while we were in Duncan and it was really good pub fare. Recommend adding it to your itinerary!

Katie was a very great and responsive host. We are actually able to get in there a little earlier than expected and we appreciated that. I would stay here again in a heartbeat the next time I am visiting the San Juan Islands. The place was private and yet close to town. There was a great rock covered in moss. That was a perfect meditation spot for me in the early morning. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen was above and beyond! It exceeded my expectations.

Coco was an incredible host. She provided directions with screenshots on where to meet, and check in instructions. Coco gave me a tour of the building and showed me exactly what I needed to know. The space I stayed in was incredibly clean, beautiful, and looked exactly like the pictures. The space is in a great location and it was very easy to find with Coco’s directions. Coco was very responsive and helpful with any requests I had. I definitely would recommend staying here to anyone visiting the Vancouver area.

George’s home had plenty of space for my husband and two adult kids. It was super clean and easy to walk to everything we needed, including car rental when we needed it for the day. He also provided a great list of resources for us get acclimated. I can’t remember how it was noted, so I’ll point out the bunkbed room is connected to one of the larger bedrooms, rather than its own entry. We’d totally love to use this space again if it’s available and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Great comfortable accommodation. Excellent location! Highly recommended!
