Cottage holiday rentals in San Francisco Bay Area

We’re very familiar with the surrounding area and this home is classic to the Russian River vibe. It’s easy to access Jenner Highland preserve, Armstrong woods and river activities. We found the listing to be accurate and very clean. We did not access the small secondary building but appreciated the hot tub. We also were glad we left our dog at home as there is no grass on the property and several stairs to navigate. It would certainly work for some dogs, but not ours was quite large. We did appreciate David’s immediate response to our request to edit our reservation when we decided not to bring our dog; excellent communication!

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We walked to the beach to boogie board, went to the boardwalk and enjoyed the local farmer’s market. The house was amazing and more than we expected. We enjoyed the backyard with all of its amenities including the hot tub and outdoor shower especially after coming back from a day at the beach. Shari was very proactive in her communications and we are looking forward to coming back again for a longer visit.

Artistic and quirky house. I loved it! You have to duck a lot, but it’s super cool. <5min walk to beach or downtown.

Cara’s place is a gem and we’re glad we found it. The perfect getaway from the busy Bay Area. Certainly, the creek just beneath really is the unique part of the whole experience. Of course we loved the hot tub and all other amenities too!

Our stay was lovely! The beds and linens were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The entire home was well stocked and it felt like a second personal home in terms of the quality of items - sharp knives, well stocked pantry for cooking basics, foil, etc. We brought two dogs and it was a paradise for them. The outdoor area is truly magical. The fire pit is great, the downstairs dog shower is handy, and the landscaping is sublime.

The beautiful pictures and glowing reviews for this listing were a primary reason why we chose to book, and the reality absolutely met our expectations. My boyfriend and I just spent almost a week here to rejuvenate and unplug, and it was the perfect place to do so. We felt an immediate shift in energy upon arriving at this very serene and magical property. It was just as lovely as previous commenters have stated. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Marykate, but her son conducted our check-in and was so friendly and kind and made us feel comfortable and welcomed. We had total privacy but still felt our needs were being taken care of. Everything was also so thoughtfully considered and supplied. Absolutely LOVED the beautiful and adorable free-range chickens. It was so peaceful and therapeutic to see them roaming around. Such a special place. It was a sad day when we had to leave, and I hope we will be back soon.

Quaint little cottage and private deck away from and yet close to the town. Excellent and super-responsive hosts, very sweet and kind. Highly recommend for a serene experience in nature on your next Petaluma trip. :)

My husband and I stayed at Renee's cottage for a long weekend and loved every minute of it! The outdoor gardens are gorgeous and perfect to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. The bed was the most comfortable bed we've had at an Air Bnb. And the two person hot tub was super clean and eat to operate. Her place is also very close to town and just a short drive to the Town Square and amazing restaurants and shopping. The grounds are also very charming with a lot of rustic farm equipment and a beautiful vineyard. We look forward to coming back!

We had a great super last-minute stay at Chad's place! Chad saved our ill-fated camping trip to the coast (we were defeated by 35 mph winds at 7:30 pm) - he got back to us within 15 minutes and even sent over someone with clean towels within 40 minutes. His bungalow was a super comfortable retreat for our two families with two toddlers and a dog - everyone loved the outdoor space! I can see it being too hot in the summer months without A/C but we were very comfortable with the fans on. For families traveling with kids, just fyi we were hoping to put the kiddos in the game room for bedtime but weren't able to do so as there's no bathroom access without exiting the house and coming back up the outside stairs. Just wish we had a second day to take advantage of Chad's amazing stash of river gear!!!

WE WISH WE COULD HAVE EXTENDED! This property shows better than the pictures with professional interior design, sweeping views, goats next door, grape vines in bloom, quiet, and Tracy was responsive. The hot tub was key to watch the sunset and enjoy the views. Also, it was so nice to have a separate space for my Dad while us kids took over the main home.

This place is good for a small family to stay ,quiet and spacious,easy to access a lot of place.

Gem of a beachhouse, on a quiet street, just a short walk from the beach. Clean, tastefully decorated cabin and loved the peaceful back garden and front patio to enjoy the sun as well.

This was a great place! Close to everything but still very quiet, clean and lovely on the inside with a beautiful courtyard on the outside and safe parking. Everything was just as described, and I would definitely stay again!

A peaceful retreat on a beautiful ranch! This lovely cottage was the perfect getaway: peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature. We especially loved all the birds around the property! The house had everything we needed (and then some), making it feel like a true home away from home. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We’d absolutely love to come back again!

The pond house was so relaxing! Close the costal redwoods and tide pools, this cottage is in prime nature loving location. The cottage is on the same property as the owners yet still felt incredibly private. Our toddler loved exploring the back yard and I enjoyed cooking in the fully stocked kitchen. The view was spectacular. Hoping to be back again!

Me and my family had a wonderful time. The cow and a few goats are right outside of the window to the airbnb. When we visited they did have baby goats so that was also fun, my baby loved the animals. We also loved how it was very rural and away from most things. If you need a store or anything there is a small town about 15 min away, although we only stayed one night we will definitely be back!

Berry Vine Cottage was a cozy place for my son and me. It was very clean, and had every convenience we were hoping for. It was centrally located to all the trails and the town of Point Reyes Station. Would recommend to a friend!

Quick access to the beach, great views of the river and peek views of the ocean. Easy off hwy 1, not too far from the bay. Nice kitchen arrangement. Small bedrooms, but best arrangement for the size. Would recommend and may be back!

This is our 2nd time staying at this magical cottage. Tina is an excellent host who is available to answer any questions her guests might have. Not only is the interior of this Air B&B inviting, the cottage is also well equipped for a comfortable stay. The garden that surrounds the cottage is lovely and inviting. This trip I saw a humming bird taking a bath in one of the garden’s fountains. There is always plenty of street parking in Tina’s beautiful and quiet neighborhood. We highly recommend this special cottage and will look forward to staying there on our next visit to Oakland.

Our stay at Linda’s cottage was wonderful! It’s a beautiful setting and everything was above our expectations! We enjoyed the pool, played bocce ball, and the garden areas are gorgeous! It’s a very peaceful and relaxing location. A great place to getaway and rejuvenate! Linda was a very kind and gracious host too! We definitely plan to return to Linda’s cottage in the near future!

This is a great place to stay if you are thinking to travel to SF. The home is in a very safe neighborhood. The home is tucked away behind the hosts property which makes you feel even more safe. Multiple bus stops near the home. Will stay here again for sure when we come back! Very communicative host as well!

Such a cute cottage - well appointed with more than expected in terms of the kitchen. Love the swings and outdoor picnic table. So very close to the Lavender Farm we wanted to visit - and we loved the Wild Poppy Cafe, also quite close. It was fun exploring Sebastopol and lovely to have Mary's cottage as a home base.

Linda’s communication was excellent. Before check-in, she provided detailed instructions on how to get to the place as gps will apparently send you somewhere else. Parking was convenient and in close proximity to the cottage. We were greeted with a kind welcome note at check-in. I’d recommend thoroughly reading the house manual and acquainting yourself with the rules to avoid any misunderstandings or further fees. Beautiful location overlooking a creek and close to town. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you’d need if looking to use it. Pro tip: The steak knives are kind of hidden in a separate compartment (labeled) within the top drawer of the sink. June is still cold here and the heater came in clutch. We were there for a wedding and grateful to see a clothing steamer stocked in the closet. If in need of a small space in Boulder Creek for yourself and a +1 — look no further. Mahalo Linda for opening your beautiful place to us! 🤙🏽

We had a wonderful stay! The home was exactly as described - clean, comfortable and thoughtfully prepared. Eric and Rebecca were incredibly responsive and welcoming, and made everything easy from check-in to check-out. It was a perfect place to stay and we would happily stay there again.
