It is about 4 km to wonderful Gräfsnäs with its castle ruins, restaurant and swimming area. There are many opportunities for walks, perhaps to the forests in the surroundings, or to Erska to try the disc golf course.

Herrestad ligger som en grön oas mitt i en lantbruksbygd och nära Sveriges största sötvattensjö. Djurlivet är rikt, både när det gäller fågelliv och hjortdjur. Ofta kan man se både rådjur och älg i trädgården. Nu har livet ute i naturen också utökats med vildsvin.
