Family-friendly holiday rentals in Scamander

If you are looking for an amazing family retreat on the Eastern Coast then book this house now (if you can!). We cannot recommend it highly enough. We had brilliant communication and advice from Sally prior to arrival with lots of invaluable tips on making our stay better. The house is beautifully designed and immensely comfortable. I have never come across a better equipped kitchen in a B&B before. This is very clearly a family home and lots of love has gone into making it comfortable. Outside is truly special, with the most incredible ocean-front setting. The house is surrounded by the ocean on 3 sides, giving a constant backdrop of waves crashing on the shore. The ocean constantly changes colour mesmerically throughout the day, and is particularly spectacular at sunrise in front the house. The wildlife is amazing; wallabies, possums, eagles, swallows, plovers and cicadas. So much to see and do in the neighbourhood to fill your days - a week is not enough. Book it if you can!!

Great location with stunning views from the living/kitchen area! There are ceiling to floor windows in the living area so it gets warm during the day which was great for our winter stay. We saw dolphins swimming in the ocean one evening which was magical. The place itself is conveniently located close to Freycinet national park and Coles bay town centre. It is on the older side but has everything you need for a nice stay and was very clean. Overall great stay!

Nice place to stay. If there is one more toilet and bathroom for 3-bedroom cottage upstair, it would be perfect.

This was an amazing place to visit - the fireplace and greenhouse warm the house incredibly well, outdoor bath and sauna were heaven. Hosts were so amazing and hospitable and helpful and an all around excellent vibe. We LOVED the design of the house, fabulous stone benchtops, the yoga room was incredible, as was morning yoga on the deck. fantastically stocked kitchen and there didn't need to be instructions given or written because everything in the house made sense. Can't wait to come back.

It's a lovely beach house in an amazingly beautiful location. So clean, comfortable and warm. Excellent in every way. I'm so grateful to have stayed there with my partner. The memories will last a lifetime.

Steve's place is the standout place to stay in Derby. Suitable for a family or group of friends and very conveniently located. Very well equipped for self-catering and also close to the trails, cafes, and pub.

The accomidation was beautuful and so close to the beach. A perfect winter getaway or summertime beach fun..... I would defenatley stay again, I just loved it.

We had 5 nights at the beach house with our 2 dogs. Scott was very welcoming and helped out with a small problem (a coffee machine) 🙂. The location was fantastic and the bed was super comfortable. Would highly recommend a stay here, at least for a few nights or longer. You'll enjoy the view of the bay and The Hazards! Great!

A lovely heritage cottage with all that we needed. Perfect for we four adults and one pooch. Secure yard. Plenty of parking. A short easy walk to cafes and other shops. Thanks Billie, you made it an easy place for us to stay and relax.

The airbnb was perfect for a seaside family getaway. Breathtaking views to wake up to and a great outdoor area to spend time outside for ourselves and our puppy.

Catherine’s home is terrific: lovely, within walking distance of places to eat (we loved the RSL); the kitchen was NOT too small-there was plenty of room for both of us with a well-stocked pantry with olive oil, vinegar, a variety of spices, mustards…it is in easy driving distance of so many places to eat/see. We wouldn’t hesitate to say “just book it”. You’ll be glad you did

Perfect home and location for our family of 5 + 2 fur babies mountain bike getaway. Large yard, all well fenced, for our two large dogs. The house was super warm with the fire and heat pump, the double glazed windows held the heat in well. Secure storage for our bikes and gear and easy access to hoses to clean it up. The outside shower was fantastic for removing the mud off our clothes and body ( and dogs!) before going inside to the laundry. Kitchen and bbq had everything we needed to cook our meals at home. Easy ride to the tracks and shuttles. Jo gave us great local advice relating to eateries and sightseeing. We will not consider staying anywhere else next time we come to Derby.

Our stay at Riverside Roost was one to remember! We felt relaxed, cosy & comfortable & our accommodation had all the necessities required! The communication before & throughout our stay was great! We will definitely stay here again, wish we were still there now! Cheers guys 🚲🤙😍

Rustic but clean and functional. Mitch was a helpful and friendly host. Close to the pub and within reachable distance to the shuttles. Good bike storage and tool facilities. Good clothes washer for post ride cleaning up. Can recommend staying here.

I would give six stars (if I could) for our stay at Jan's place. It is a nicely updated and well furnished house perched on a hill that affords a scenic view of Binalong bay. We found the unit to be very clean and well provisioned for a five day stay. From the house, a five minute walk will get you to Binalong Beach where one can swim in tranlucent turquois water and walk along long white sand beach. Ten minute drive from the house will get you to downtown St. Helenes where great coffeeshops and restaurants abounds. We ate at many of these eateries and all were good to excellent. A bit longer scenic drive , may be 20 min from the house, will get you to a beautiful and friendly winery where one can sample seven different types of high qauality wines at 15 AUD per person. If you feel like splurging, buy a bottle of 2016 Pinot Noir and drink this elegant wine on the deck while watching the waves landing on the beach. Book this place and collect wondeful memories.

Wonderful stay. All you could ask for with all the amenities you need. Great location and really comfortable beds and bedding. Wendy’s place was spotless, everything was sparkling.

A great location for a family holiday - plenty of room in the well equipped house and straight onto a stunning beach. The master suite with a view over the sea was idyllic and the garden space was wonderful.
