El Nido; a Peaceful, Relaxing, Restorative Retreat

As an artist, I'm deeply interested in aesthetics. I think I've succeeded in creating a beautiful, restful venue for relaxation. The queen size bed overlooks a bird sanctuary over the Valencia Creek watershed. The kitchen includes a fridge stocked with goodies, toaster oven, microwave, coffee pot, French press and cooktop for light cooking. You're welcome to use the oven/stove in the main kitchen with prior arrangements. A backyard gas barbecue is available for heavier cooking (or if you're planning to cook fish!) Hairdryer and shampoo are available in the spacious private bath. Thick terry robes are provided for your comfort, and beach towels and chairs if you decide to spend some time on one of our beautiful beaches. There's a large flat screen smart TV complete with Netflix. Lots of reading material and a writing desk are also here for your use. You have a private entrance with a coded entry. I share the front house with my partner and our two dogs. We'd love to meet you and perhaps share a cup of coffee or a glass of wine (depending on the time of day!) but will also respect your need/desire for privacy if you prefer. I'm happy to provide any information or amenities that will make your visit more comfortable and enjoyable. This home is close to the beautiful beaches of the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary and the Forest of Nisene Marks, just a mile from Aptos village, south of Santa Cruz and the Boardwalk and north of Elk Horn Slough and The Monterey Bay Aquarium. Parking is easily available on our quiet cut-de-sac. The flagstone path to the left of the property will lead you to a gate and your private porch/entrance. Provide a 4 digit code before you arrive and I'll program the entry for your convenience. No keys to hassle with. Public transit is available one mile from the house. Uber is a popular alternative in our area. We're just minutes away from a thriving downtown scene complete with music venues and restaurants, shopping, art galleries, and the SC Beach Boardwalk. Whale watching, kayaking, cycling and hiking trails are also just minutes away. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, or those looking for a quiet retreat.

Maureen and her husband Clark were great hosts- friendly and responsive but also kind and will give you your privacy. The room is in the home and has its own private connected bathroom. The room and bathroom were very clean and their home is beautiful, peaceful and has great views of the ocean. There is easy access to Seascape Beach and we enjoyed going there with our dog. I really appreciated that they're dog friendly and were happy to meet our dog. The room and bathroom were very clean and it was nice to have the little snacks Maureen placed in there. We would recommend them and return again!

Celebrated my husbands bday! Outdoor heated pool was nice for the boys. The restaurant on the property was delicious ! We walked down to the beach and called the front office for a ride back with a golf cart. The place was very clean and relaxing

Was extremely happy with the place and location. Stayed there for two nights and is close enough to everything so is easy to drive to Gayle’s bakery and the to Corralito’s sausage co. for some smoked sausage. Great local recommendation. The bed was pleasantly comfortable and I slept really good though being in a different bed. I definitely slept better than if I was at a hotel.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at the Undercroft with Gail and she does not disappoint! Gail is so thoughtful and friendly, she makes sure you feel right at home. Gail left us fresh berries and plenty of snacks which was greatly appreciated! The Undercroft is so beautiful and I got to just sit and watch many critters come out like deer and chipmunks. Overall, the Undercroft is beautiful and only made even better with Gail as a host.

Annie was always available to answer any question. She was very nice and we could tell she wanted us to really enjoy our stay. The views were amazing, everything was very clean and we felt right at home. I celebrated my 60 th Birthday day with Family and some friends just for a few hours and they all loved the place and some were interested in possibly staying there sometime themselves. Needless to say, I highly recommend this place. Thank you Annie for providing me a wonderful Birthday weekend.

We stay in the Santa Cruz area quite a bit as my kids go to camp nearby. I really enjoyed the Seascape Resort. Bailey's listing was perfect! It is MUCH quieter than Capitola and Santa Cruz, which is more my jam. The resort is landscaped beautifully and we enjoyed exploring! The beach is just a short walk. Side note: check out the grocery store in the village across the street. They make fantastic sandwiches which are perfect for a beach picnic!

Private Entrance Guest Suite-Seascape Retreat

Marisa's place was perfect. It was clean, comfortable, spacious and exactly what we needed. We were attending a wedding at the Seascape Beach Resort and needed to be there for 2 days, but did not want to stay at the resort. This was the perfect distance away. It is only about a half mile to walk there, although we drove back and forth (high heels...). There was parking right across from place that always had spots available. Marisa's place also included a few details that some Airbnb places miss; not only did it have a luggage rack but it had two in the closet for both of our suitcases (btw the closet is huge!); and a full length mirror which is absolutely needed when getting ready to go to a wedding. We would definitely recommend!
