Really helpful host and lovely location!

We stayed at Simon and Belinda's place for a week and it was exactly what we needed. Fantastic location for walks and food. The Wainwright's Inn is only 0.2 miles away. Great food and local ales on your doorstep. The cottage is cosy, the kitchen is well equipped and the information provided was very thorough and useful. There are some books in the house they have prepared to show various walks and local recommendations. We did some of these walks and our 5 year old enjoyed every second! We took advantage of the leisure facilities at The Langdale. This was a great addition to the cottage! Really recommend if you want a place near to town locations, walks and local pubs/cafés/restaurants.

Beautiful home, very spacious and plenty of amenities. felt right at home! perfect for toddlers too. Ian was great, very helpful and easily contactable.

We had such a lovely long weekend with our grown up children. The cottage was so relaxing . Lovely private grounds. Short walk to two private beaches . We really enjoyed having the optional hot tub and sauna . We played games in the garden , visited some lovely walks. A very chilled place. Ruth and Mark are great hosts. Thank you.

We arrived on the Friday for a 3 night stay. The Barn is in a beautiful place inside and out. The Hot Tub was lovely on an evening and the patio fire was great to sit around for drinks early evening watching the Sun go down. Casterton village is only a couple of miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The village its self had a gorgeous pub 7 mins walk from the Barn which had a great range of food and served Sourdough pizza on Sunday evening after 1700hrs with a lovely warm atmosphere and open fires. There is a great taxi service and some fabulous restaurants near to the Barn. The Black Bull and the Highwayman were fabulous. (We did go to Number 9 also and it was not somewhere I could recommend, service and food really poor.) Patrick and Anika were great responsive hosts and this is a do not miss property, that offers every you need for a fabulous stay. Our little group loved it. Thank you Karen, Denise and Naomi

Hermitage cottage was in a beautiful situation right on the river Lune. The cottage was clean and tidy. We enjoyed the hot tub, the barbecue and the outdoor seating. We were extremely fortunate with the weather and really enjoyed our stay. Walks around the estate were lovely. It is a lovely base to explore the Forest of Bowland and surrounding areas.

Kathryn’s stay was lovely! Perfect location if you’re looking at heading to Keswick and climbing Scafell pike only 40mins drive to Seathwaite route. Beautiful home and lovely Hotub! Hosts very responsive to our messages.

Teapot Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. It was very well kitted out, decorated very nicely, and had lots of nice touches to make our stay even better. Lammisa was a great host - very responsive and friendly, and was happy to help whenever needed. There's great local amenities within walking distance, and several local villages and towns within a short drive, including Ennerdale Lake. The place was very comfortable, with plenty of seating indoor and out, with several comfy beds suitable for a group of adults. The only thing to be aware of is that the bedroom with the bunk beds has very little storage space, so if you're staying for a few days and have a large bag/suitcase - you'll need to find somewhere else to put it! Overall - we were all very pleased with this stay and we'd definitely book again in future.

Michael's place was a perfect base for our 5 days in the Lakes. The house was really well set up with a fully equipped kitchen, balcony with great views, wood burner and TV with netflix. The bed was super comfy although as others have noted there are low ceilings downstairs (where bedrooms and bathroom are) so not ideal if you're tall. I'm 6ft and I could just get away without ducking when walking around, however the shower was awkward to use and I had to contort myself to avoid bumping my head. That's a minor issue though as otherwise the place was great. The location is also very convenient for accessing lots of lovely parts of the Lakes - we didn't need to use the car for 2 of the days, spending one on Ullswater and Aire Force waterfalls, and another climbing Helvellyn, both walkable from the house.

What an absolute gem we found in Apple House. The pictures really don't do the whole place justice! A cosy, romantic house set in beautiful, serene surroundings. It really was the perfect location for our mini moon! Was lovely to be greeted by the chickens and Russel the dog each morning <3 We were treated to some tasty welcome gifts and the place was spotless, very comfy bed and just the most charming decor. Thank you so much Emma and Craig! We will definitely be returning with more of our family!

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Cleator. The cottage was exactly as described and we had everything we needed. It was easy to find and there was parking outside most days. We wanted a walking holiday and this cottage was perfect - it is right on the famous Wainwright Coast to Coast National Trail (in fact the route is on the pavement outside!) and you can walk back to St Bees or up towards Ennerdale Bridge. You can also walk down to the Ehen river in one minute. We also drove out to walk Scaffel Pike and Haystacks as well as reaching other parts of the C2C towards Grasmere. A drive to Ravensglass is also recommended - it's a beautiful untouched village on the Esk estuary with a narrow gauge railway that takes you up to Eskdale. Thank you to David and Victoria who were extremely welcoming and helpful with a couple of questions that we had whilst there. For great food shopping, we used the Coop at Egremont and Cleator Moor which were both just over a five minute drive away.

We really enjoyed a few days in Ian's spacious cottage, which is in a great location with easy access to Windermere and Ambleside. A well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds were much appreciated.

Absolutely fantastic place. Quiet yet close to pubs etc, several options. We went out one night but decided we just wanted to enjoy the fire etc after a cold day on Scafell Pike, which is close by. Will stay here again next time we are in the area. Just what we wanted.

I have no hesitation in recommending. The property is exactly as advertised and we loved the way the space has been designed and utilised. The bed was really comfortable. We had a long journey to Mosser and were delighted with the beautiful outside area where our dog could run around. Communication with Hazel and directions were all excellent. We had a great stay. Such a lovely cottage!! We felt at home upon arrival and enjoyed every minute we spent in it. Our cat was very happy as well, entertained by all the birds and little animals he could watch from the windows. Location was great - nice little village but also a 10min drive to Cockermouth with plenty of options for shops and restaurants. We’d love to come back someday!

Stunning location and cottage. Sunshine for our three day stay, the walk's and views are stunning. We would definitely recommend a stay at Duddon View cottage, perfectly situated for soul calming walks in the surrounding fells, better than any medicine. Perfect little cottage in the lakes with breathtaking views from the garden

A lovely Lakelands cottage, perfect for our family of 4. We enjoyed using the little garden, and it was easy to walk into Coniston and into the surrounding area. Other lovely walks a short drive away. The cottage was really comfortable, well equipped kitchen, lots of hot water, lovely fireplace. We'd definitely stay again

We had an exceptional stay at Manesty ! The location in was absolutely stunning, surrounded by beautiful scenery that made the visit truly special. The area was calm and peaceful, providing the perfect retreat from daily life. The host's instructions were clear, making the check-in process seamless. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the Lake District in a serene and relaxing

Perfect little cottage, got everything we needed.A big plus was the option of a nice hot bath after a long day's walking ! Set in a quiet location, only sounds we're the birds and the sound of a nearby stream ....perfect !! Easy parking . Fantastic view out of the bedroom window looking towards the lake , what a lovely sight to see first thing in a morning. Thank you Jem for allowing us to stay at The Conga .

First holiday in the Lake District and it was great! The cottage was brilliant, just right for us, clean and tidy, 4 poster bed was impressive and not forgetting the hot tub which was excellent after a day's walking. Hazel and Steve were very helpful on recommended walks, we didn't use the car since all the walks in the local area were fantastic. We walked for 5 days, weather was great, one of the best hoildays we have had, so peaceful, freindly people whereever we went to, on the 6th day we rested....the feet deserved a break! Booked to stay in this lovely cottage for 4 nights for a birthday trip with family and my dog, the views from the house were breathtaking surrounded by mountains, wildlife and farm animals and the cottage itself was so spacious yet perfectly cosy at the same time. There were lovely walking trails all around with some great recommendations from our host of places to sightsee and eat and drink (we highly recommend the toasties from the Flock In tea room!). All in all a great time was had and we would definitely return.

Fantastic Stay at Snug Cottage in Threlkeld! My recent stay at Snug Cottage in Threlkeld was absolutely delightful, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the beautiful views. The cottage itself was immaculately clean and wonderfully comfortable. I particularly loved the big kitchen, which was well-equipped and made cooking a joy. If you're looking for a charming, clean, and well-appointed stay with stunning scenery, Snug Cottage in Threlkeld is an excellent choice.

The barn ist very beautiful furnished and full of great ideas how to relax including everything you need for that. Everything is prepared to feel welcomed and gorgeous. We had a great time even sitting outside and Jenny and Chris were very helpful! We hope to come back and can highly recommend the cosy barn.
