This is a private, single-unit rental accommodation located in a secluded space surrounded by nature. Time passes slowly, and every moment remains quietly in my heart. A rural landscape unfolds before your eyes, and beyond it stretches the beautiful scenery of Mt. Hakkasan. From the deck surrounded by flowers, you can watch the beautiful sunset over the mountains. In the evening, gather around the campfire, roast marshmallows, and enjoy a relaxing time under the starry sky. Enjoy a BBQ while listening to the sounds of nature. [House Story] This house was born out of a childhood dream of living in a Nordic home.It all started with my longing for a cozy cabin and the tranquility of nature, like something out of a story. After living in Sweden and New Zealand, I returned to Japan and, together with my husband, Andy, took over a cottage that was scheduled to be demolished just one month later. My husband and I have carefully renovated this house, piece by piece, like a work of art, to create a space where the Nordic philosophy of connecting with nature and the beautiful natural surroundings of this location come together in harmony. 4 km to Lake Biwa There is a convenience store within walking distance A large supermarket is also a 10-minute drive away. Located in the center of Hikone-shi, this place is close to everything you want to visit with your family. Free parking is in front of the inn, so it is easy to carry your luggage! It is comfortable to stay with about️ 1 person to 4 people, but up to 6 people can stay if not possible.It is also a great place for biwaichi around Lake Biwa by bicycle. In winter, you can reach the Grand Snow Oku-Ibuki Ski Resort in one hour.This is the perfect place for a one-night stay. There is a shopping street called "Taisho Romantic Shibancho Square" within walking distance, so you can feel like you're traveling by walking.There are also various restaurants and restaurants. Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

Azalea House is on the slope of Mt. Hiei, a world-heritage. To get there, drive 20 min. from Kyoto-Higashi exit on Meishin. Or ride the bus 30 min. from downtown Kyoto or 20 min. from JR Otsukyo Sta. and get off before Hieidaira convenience store. The host will meet you there. Bus service drastically reduced since Covid-19. Free parking space. Easy access to both Kyoto and Lake Biwa. Rich in nature. Completely detached, full privacy, handy & cozy like home. Self-cooking is available.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.
