We stayed at Shi's place as a group of 7 and absolutely loved it! It was a beautiful space and we loved the Japanese style architecture - it truly enhanced our Kyoto experience. A highlight of the space was the common living room area as well as the small bar. It made for a great space to have a night in with friends.

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb in Kyoto! While it’s not right in the middle of the city’s hustle and bustle, it’s only a short and easy bus ride away—which we actually preferred for a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. The interior was absolutely stunning and looked exactly like the photos. Everything was clean and well maintained. The beds were incredibly comfortable—I slept better here than anywhere else on our trip so far! One of our favorite features was the beautiful tub, which my husband and I used to soak our tired feet after long days of sightseeing. The nearby train station made getting around even easier, and the host provided very clear instructions for getting into the room, which we appreciated. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, stylish stay in Kyoto!

Chieri est une hôte formidable ! Nous avons beaucoup discuté et rigolé. Elle est pleine d’énergie et de vitalité. Le café dont elle s’occupe à côté de la maison propose de délicieux plats (petit-dej). Sa maman est adorable ! Le logement est un petit cocon et un saut dans le temps. Allez-y les yeux fermés ! De plus, c’est très proche de Nara, Uji et Kyoto en train.

The flat was really cozy, with a perfect traditional Japanese style and great for an immersive experience! The bathroom with a tub was beautiful. We loved the tatami flooring, and the Japanese furniture and decor added a lovely touch. The location was peaceful but very close to the city center, with shops and restaurants nearby. We really enjoyed our stay!

Chieri en haar moeder en hun schattige hond zijn hele lieve hosts die er alles aan doen om je verblijf een echte authentieke Japanse ervaring te laten zijn. Hun huis is prachtig ingericht, ruim en voelt heel fijn en gastvrij. Het café en de biertuin van Chieri zijn ook zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken. Het eten en drinken en het gratis Japanse ontbijt waren heerlijk. En als je nog authentieke Japanse souvenirs zoekt zijn die hier ook te vinden. Al met al een perfecte plek om even tot rust te komen na het bezoeken van de drukke steden als Kyoto en Osaka.

Such a beautiful home, and such a great location! Walkable distance to Kyotos main shopping district, good restraunts nearby and always a nice start to the day to walk through the temple as we exited the home. Shi was also so helpful and responsive. Would love to come back again next time we are in Kyoto.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful, historic house in Kyoto. The location was ideal—central yet wonderfully quiet, allowing us to relax while still being close to everything. A friend of the host kindly met us in person and guided us to the house, which was a lovely and much-appreciated touch. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the instructions for check-in and using the amenities were clear and easy to follow. We truly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend this unique and peaceful place to anyone visiting Kyoto.

Just as lovely and cozy as when we stayed five years ago. This Machiya exudes calm upscale elegance. Beautiful view. Spa like bath area. Spacious and airy. Convenient location and now with a second great cafe right next door!

場所は本当に伏見稲荷からすぐ近くですごくよかったです。すごく大きなお屋敷で6名がゆったり過ごすことができるたくさんの部屋もあり、この価格だったら、また泊まりたいと思える納得のプライスでした！バスルームにもエアコンがあり、快適にお風呂に入れました。また、キッチンも充実していたので朝ごはんはみんなで楽しくクッキングし楽しい時間を過ごすことができた。 また、オーナーもすごく良い人でいろいろと丁寧に教えてくれたのもよかった。 次は家族で泊まりに行きたい。

everything was perfect. Bed is so comfy. staff in super nice and kind. The style makes you feel the Japanese experience and I absolutely loved it. Cafeteria downstairs is a big plus as they make very nice cappuccino and even offered oat milk which was not the easy to find. everything was super clean

The house is clean, comfortable, and located in a great area. The bus station is nearby, and it’s easy to order a taxi right to the door. We’re a group of 6, and our mom uses a wheelchair and the place worked out perfectly for us. Matuda was super helpful, responded quickly, and shared many great recommendations 🤩🩵🩵
