As others have said—all of the reviews are spot on! A unique setting in the countryside about 30 minutes drive to Parma on mountain roads, beautiful historic building and grounds (with tastefully updated bathrooms to go with the historic charm, plus even a clothes washer and dryer you can access, a rarity in Italy), and a consummate host in Maria Teresa. Using her knowledge and connections to get personalized tours of smaller local parmigiano and prosciutto factories was a real highlight, and we especially enjoyed the nearby Torrechiara castle as well. The kids loved her animals too. 10/10 stay!

We stayed 5 amazing days at Il Gufo and loved every minute. Jacopo is an amazing host and went out of his way throughout to make our stay great. Even meeting us locally and showing us the way to the house. We highly recommend staying at The Owl. The location, high in a valley provides spectacular views and is perfect to relax and unwind. We do not know what was better. The location, accommodations or the fact that we met Jacopo and became immediate friends. That combination made for the greatest memories. Also Luba, their beautiful dog, immediately loved us and greeted us ever time we returned. A little secret, he is an amazing chef and if you get a chance to go to his restaurant do it. Also his dinner recommendations were great. We had dinner at Corte Dei Frati 2 times. Thank you Jacopo for making our 30th Anniversary trip so amazing. We feel privileged to have met you and we will return on our next trip to Italy. You are an amazing person and host. Love Steve & Vicki

I don’t have the words to describe how beautiful this apartment on the hillside is. The apartment itself is nice and cosy and spacious, and the kitchen contains a little bottle of olive oil produced from their own olives. But it is the location, the gardens and the little farm and the view across the valley which can take your breath away. Sonia is happy and welcoming and patient. She showed us around the wine and olive farm and was always approachable when we contacted her. There are two guest apartments side by side, but it is quite private nonetheless. Note that you can hear sounds from the other apartment quite easily. I cannot recommend this enough! Would love to come back.

Cristina is the perfect host and the house is beautiful. The surroundings are amazing and the views......wow! All through the booking and our stay there Cristina was swift to answer any questions we had and also was happy to offer suggestions on places to go and where to eat. We had a perfect week there and I wouldn't hesitate to go back or to recommend her place to anyone else. Cristina and her sister met us at the house and showed us round, clearly pointing out all the relevant bits that we would need to know. Thank you so much for making our week in Italy so special and enjoyable......we are already looking to come back!

Un angolo di intimità e romanticismo dove staccare completamente. Tutto perfetto, host gentilissimo e disponibile, la piscina riscaldata con un buon impianto audio è una goduria. Un eccellente vista sulla natura dei dintorni e soprattutto una estrema privacy. Il centro è 7 minuti di macchina, ma sembra d'essere fuori dalla città.

A beautiful, simple, rustic but impeccably tastefully furnished, one-room cottage in idyllic grounds on the side of a magical Tuscan hillside. Florence, Siena, Lucca and Pisa all within easy reach if you have a car (you need a car to stay here) … And there’s even a pool!! We’ll be back!

Piękna okolica, idealne miejsce wypadowe do zwiedzania Toskanii. Super miejsce dla rodzin z dziećmi (dostępne łóżeczko dla dzieci, a nawet barierka do łóżka dla dzieci które śpią z rodzicami 😉). Nicolo odpowiadał na wszystkie nasze potrzeby, a samo mieszkanie oddaje w pełni toskański klimat 😀 bardzo polecamy!

Wir haben den Aufenthalt wirklich sehr genossen und würden jederzeit wieder bei Maria buchen. Wir sind mit kleinem Kind gereist und alles war top und bestens ausgestattet. Maria war immer sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und gut erreichbar. Alles war genauso wie beschrieben und erwartet. Der private Pool hat das ganze für uns abgerundet, es war herrlich! Klare Weiterempfehlung!

Very easy to find and close to funicular that ran every 30 minutes on schedule. At least 5 restaurants for lunch and dinner. Small store for basics. Terrace facing northeast was wonderful in the morning. Umbrellas for shade if needed. Washer with folding clothesline to dry inside or out. We only used the main bedroom and bath - both on second floor. Very nice. The second bedroom was on the second floor and second bath was in the basement - did not use those spaces or the sitting room in walkout basement. Kitchen stocked with basics for electric coffee maker (a bit noisy) and hand brother. Gas stove for heating milk. Toaster oven. Large grid freezer with many ice trays. Enjoyed the cat that showed up A few times. Easy 20 min walk from main train station (not Centro) to funicular. Main station also had many bus connections like to Grotta Giusti but only to swim in outdoor pool. You can’t swim in the cave - too bad. Would love to come back.

Fijn huis in de heuvels boven Pistoia. Het is er een paar graden koeler dan in de stad, en je hebt een fraai uitzicht. Wij genoten van de kippen die rondscharrelden en de lieve kat. Ook waren en ‘s avond heel veel vuurvliegjes te zien. Annalisa is zeer vriendelijk en zorgzaam.

Die Unterkunft ist perfekt für alle, die Ruhe und Natur suchen. Das Dorf ist abgeschieden in den Bergen, soll heißen: die Anfahrt ist lange und führt über kleine, aber gut gepflegte Bergstraßen. Das Dorf selbst ist nicht mit dem Auto befahrbar, was man bedenken sollte bei viel Gepäck oder, wenn man nicht so gut zu Fuß ist. Letitia bietet auch einen Gepäckservice an, den wir aber nicht genutzt haben. Für uns war es perfekt. Sehr viele Wandermöglichkeiten und ein rundum atemberaubender Ausblick entschädigt für den anstrengenden Weg. Es gibt einen kleinen Laden im Dorf, doch größere Einkäufe sollte man planen, wenn man von der Autobahn abfährt. Die Küche ist top ausgestattet, um alles mögliche zu kochen für 2-4 Personen. Auch ansonsten mangelt es der Wohnung an nichts. Leider war das Wetter bei unserem Aufenthalt eher regnerisch, aber das kommt im Mai schon mal vor. Wenn die Sonne rauskommt, ist es aber schön warm. Würde sofort wiederkommen und länger bleiben.

Da elisabetta siamo stati benissimo, tutti i servizi sono stati impeccabili, a partire dal check in dove elisabetta è stata flessibile riguardo all’orario è estremamente disponibile. la casa è perfettamente attrezzata di tutto il necessario e impeccabile a livello di pulizia. l’ ambientazione poi è da sogno. consiglio assolutamente un soggiorno, non ve ne pentirete!

Het verblijf in woning van Francesca was top. Rustige locatie en de woning was erg comfortabel. De badkamer was erg prettig en de douche was heel fijn( kom helaas ook wel krappe doucheruimtes tegen). Francesca was een fantastische host. In het bijzonder nog een paar zinnen over Francesca. Wat een fijne host. Bij aankomst een vriendelijk onthaal met zelf gebakken koekjes, fruit en lokale likeur. Tijdens het verblijf super snel reageren op berichten als ik om lokale tips vroeg en bij vertrek stond er een flesje zelfgemaakte olijfolie klaar om mee te nemen. Kortom, gastvrijheid op een hoog niveau.

Stella nos recebeu muito bem, foi simpática e prestativa. A casa estava muito limpa e organizada. O espaço e aconchegante. O lugar é extraordinário, muito bonito, com natureza exuberante e uma vista maravilhosa. Stella recomendou lugares para visitar e restaurantes da região que gostamos muito. Somente elogios, nenhuma reclamação.

El alojamiento de Ignazio ha sido una experiencia diferente y poco usual para los alojamientos que solemos alquilar. Pero nos apetecía sentir el ambiente rural y la vida real Italiana. Nos ha sorprendido gratamente. Alojarnos en una casa típica italiana de la zona de 1800. Todo, absolutamente todo tiene historia. Las habitaciones. La cocina. Pequeños misterios de la casa que Ignazio nos explico con detalle y gran amor. Si eres de las personas que ama la historia y la cultura de otros países está es tu casa e Ignazio tu anfitrión. Nos alegramos mucho de haber podido tener esta oportunidad. El pueblo está muy cerca de la parada de tren para ir a todas las ciudades importante en me día hora por 3€ el billete. La comida de los alrededores! Maravillosa. Nos vamos encantados. Muchísimas gracias por todo Ignazio. Arrivederci!

Il nostro soggiorno all’Antico Podere Sant’Anna è stato molto piacevole. Cercavamo un luogo tranquillo dove poter stare con la nostra bimba ma che ci permettesse di raggiungere il centro di Pistoia in poco tempo, e così è stato. Sara è stata super disponibile ed è venuta incontro alle nostre esigenze. Per chi ama la tranquillità, essere circondati dal verde ma comunque godere della vicinanza del centro, é il posto perfetto!

Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno davvero piacevole in questo appartamento accogliente e curato nei minimi dettagli. La pulizia era impeccabile, e il camino perfettamente funzionante, con legna fornita gratuitamente dall’host. L’appartamento è immerso nella tranquillità degli Appennini modenesi, un luogo ideale per chi cerca di staccare dalla frenesia quotidiana. Nelle vicinanze ci sono diversi sentieri per escursioni a piedi, perfetti per esplorare la natura circostante. Sergio e sua moglie sono stati degli host eccezionali: gentili, disponibili e mai invadenti. Consigliatissimo per una pausa rigenerante!

Cutigliano was a quiet and beautiful location. While we often drove 2 hours to go to major destinations, there was so much to do nearby as well. I found one of my favourite things to do was to explore the village and trials nearby. The people were wonderfully kind and the local food was amazing. Highly reccomend this location for a longer stay in italy. We live in an apartment at home, so the house felt spacious and luxurious, but at the same time, with authenticity. We got used to living with the gorgeous chruch bells across the street... everything was a joy! We stayed with a 6 month old baby which was great. If our small child was walking or crawling by themselves there are lots of stairs, some without rails which should be considered. Solange was exceptional. She was waiting outside when we arrived to help us understand how to bring in our luggage and park our car. She was quick to respond and had lots of suggestions for things nearby. Overall one of my fave trips!

Benedetta was the perfect host! The location was perfect for us with a small park to exercise our dog and a fenced garden. There is a pastercceria a stone's throw which did excellent coffee too. We also made use of the local butcher who had some very appetising produce.

A causa di un trasloco molto complicato ho soggiornato da sola presso la struttura, facendo purtroppo avanti e indietro verso e da Bologna Lavorando con gli animali ed il giardino, splendido e completamente recintato, ha fatto davvero la differenza La casa è incantevole così come il panorama che ne fa da cornice, impagabile svegliarsi alla vista dei nostri Appennini. Talmente tanto silenzio da sentirmene - soprattutto di notte - quasi intimorita :-) Bellissimo stacco durante il quale, a tratti, sono riuscita anche a rigenerarmi Ho avuto qualche piccola difficoltà con la Tv in sala rispetto alla sincronizzazione canali, mentre tutto ok con quella in camera Pulizia e servizi offerti completamente in linea con le aspettative Nell’insieme consiglierei assolutamente un soggiorno presso questa incantevole struttura se si vuole davvero staccare la spina e ritagliarsi uno spazio ed un momento di solo relax e riposo! We really enjoyed our stay to explore the area. All major cities like Florence, Bologna, Lucca are in reach. Also good restaurants and the factory outlet in Barberino are in reach. Thank you for all the good advice.

Cannot say enough about how great this little gem is- great location for outdoor activities and stunning beautiful scenery. Very quiet on the top of this hillside Road… With lemon trees in an olive Grove how much better can it get! You can see the town of Vinci and way beyond from this height. The hosts could not have been any more kind and generous with their time and suggestions. Simply a wonderful Airbnb!

Io e i miei amici (gruppo di 6 persone) siamo stati bene. La casa è carina, ordinata e vicina a svariati sentieri dove fare passeggiate, e la cucina è molto fornita. La persona che ci ha accolto, inoltre, è stata molto gentile e disponibile. Le uniche scomodità della casa riguardano i bagni, che sono piccoli, e la stanza-seminterrato che è dislocata dalla casa principale; per gruppi non numerosi e per soggiorni brevi è perfetta

We absolutely loved the house and all of the features. We spent a lot of time outside in the little patio area and our kids played basketball in the driveway. The automated windows, skylights, and shutters were very nice. The AC worked very well and kept us cool during the middle of the day when it was hot outside. The location is less convenient if you don’t have a car but we were able to walk to town in 20 minutes. The area was quiet and beautiful which is what we wanted so we didn’t mind the inconvenience. Very lovely hosts who live on the property and provided lots of information and were very responsive.
