Cabin holiday rentals in Smallwood

Beautiful home with gorgeous views. We were able to spread out, both inside and out. The kitchen had everything we needed. The entire house was clean. The kids loved having the basement to hang out, the pool table especially, was a hit. The lawn maintenance team came by during our stay. They were quick and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay!

We were two families from NYC that spend three nights at this place. The house was more than spacious for the 8 of us and we thoroughly enjoyed the four person hot tub, the firepit and badminton set. The kitchen was really well equipped for cooking and the beds were super comfortable. John was just a text away for any questions.

We enjoyed our stay in this cozy, comfortable cabin by the river. We shopped in several of the cute shops, and had two delicious lunches, in town; we made breakfasts and dinners at the cabin. It’s a great spot by the river. Erica was friendly, attentive, and responded quickly when we had questions.

Such an awesome spot! BUT note this is a glampsite rather than a full house. The toilet is an outhouse (very clean, but make sure to duck to not hit your head), the shower is heated but it's outdoor, I didn't have soap or towels provided that I saw, and the bed is a tri-fold mattress that folds out onto the floor of the little A-frame. The wood fire hot tub was amazing, the fire pit is nice, there are two chairs included, parking is easy, there is good quality firewood here but bring something to light it with and start the burn. The sound of the running water is worth every penny. The cabin also is heated via some sort of gas, which does a great job and making the space feel cozy but I woke up with a pretty good sore throat. Not sure if that is a coincidence or if from the heater. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this place! Just make sure the less earthy people in your group are not expecting a hotel room/house.

~5 Star Cabin in the Woods~ Beautiful, secluded property with a pristine natural waterfall right in the backyard! The fire pit and hot tub are our favs. The entire place is SPOTLESS! The extra fresh towels and comfy bed linens are a lovely bonus. Plus, a fully stocked kitchen! Bill is an amazing host. He thought of everything that you could ever need! He was super responsive, informative, and accommodated all of our needs. Can’t wait to return!!!

W’s place is great for a large family or group of friends looking for a getaway in a peaceful, private, retreat-like environment. The house has cozy Catskill cabin vibes with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, updated bathrooms and a variety of different spaces to provide a large group with opportunities to spread out and find quiet nooks and crannies when needed. The beautiful wooded setting is perfect backdrop for all the amenities — wood fired hot tub and sauna plus cold plunge make the property feel like a private spa. It’s very easy to stay on the property for a full day without leaving, however there’s also an abundance of local adventures to be had — hiking, swimming, fishing etc. Great place for outdoor enthusiasts. W is responsive and helpful in his communications.

A wonderfully relaxing place to stay. The hot tub and sauna are wonderful, as is the bedroom with the view of the mountains. We plan to come back soon.

Stayed here 4 times now and always look forward to it. The peaceful surroundings and comfort of the cabin are a great escape from the city. Also just a short drive to Shohola falls, Milford and Dingmans ferry for shopping and hiking then coming back to the cabin to grill and hangout on the deck. Already looking forward to coming back. We had a few simple questions and Glen is always quick to respond..

We had a really lovely stay at this cabin in Boiceville. It rained every day during our trip, but honestly, we didn’t mind—it made the space feel extra cozy. We spent our time relaxing indoors, reading, cooking, and just enjoying the slower pace. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was tucked away enough to feel peaceful, but still a short drive to Esopus Creek and Phoenicia, which we enjoyed exploring when the rain let up. The host was helpful and easy to communicate with, and everything about the stay went smoothly. If you’re looking for a calm, quiet retreat in the Catskills—even on rainy days—this spot is a great pick.

The Hideout was such an amazing place to stay and the A Frame was exactly what we were hoping for. It had everything we needed and Samantha was very communicative the whole time. A perfect weekend with the toddler and the dog!

We had the most wonderful stay at Larry’s cabin in Smallwood! From the moment we booked, Larry was incredibly kind, helpful, and communicative. His advice on local activities and attractions was spot on and truly made our trip memorable. The cabin itself was cozy, warm, and inviting—exactly what we were hoping for. The fireplace was such a fantastic feature, adding so much charm to the space. It was incredibly easy to use, and Larry thoughtfully supplied plenty of firewood, kindling, and paper, making it hassle-free to enjoy cozy evenings by the fire. We also loved watching the local wildlife around the property! The deer often came up to the cabin, and it was such a treat to see them up close—it added to the peaceful, natural atmosphere of the area. Our dog, Lily, had the time of her life exploring the yard, which was perfect for her! On Larry’s recommendation, we visited the Smallwood dog park, and it was a highlight for Lily. My pup and I enjoy our stay and Mirelle was a fantastic host. We loved hanging out on the deck and the fenced in backyard. Highly recommend checking out the forest reserve, which is super close. The waterfalls were so lovely! And just 10 minutes away is Bethal Woods Center for the Arts. This is a great spot if you're coming to see a show. I really enjoyed the Woodstock Festival Museum there.

We had a wonderful stay! The craftsmanship of this home is truly impressive - everything feels thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished. The space was clean, cozy, and full of special touches. The kitchen was especially well-stocked, which made it easy to cook and enjoy meals during our stay. There were so many little amenities that made it feel like a home away from home. One of the highlights was getting to feed the super friendly deer - such a fun and unique experience! Highly recommend!

Nothing but great things to say about our stay here. Amie’s place was exactly how it was described. It truly did feel like we were staying the weekend at a friends place (that clean friend who has a well decorated place and thought of everything you would maybe need before they left the space to you). Really appreciated the detail Amie went into with describing household related items and suggestions for activities to do in the area. We came with our pup and really enjoyed how close this was to a park/trail. The closest thing I have to a constructive comment is that there aren’t any sidewalks in the immediate area, so you are mostly driving anywhere you’d want to go to, but that’s absolutely nothing within Amie’s control and as mentioned earlier, Amie clearly wrote out all there is to do both nearby and further out via car. There is a lake <10 min drive away with a “beach” for swimming. If you’re on the fence, don’t be, truly a great place to stay. Thanks again, Amie!
