The cabin has a new bathroom, kitchen, or facility, large terrace and electric car charger. In the area there are a lot of hiking opportunities. The delicious and award-winning goat cheese that won the "world cheese awards" in October 2023 was produced 50 m from the cabin. From mid-July, the goats are the closest neighbors to the cabin. Here, you will also find Northern Europe's oldest and smallest stave church, built in 1147.

The modern cabin from 2022 is located in the beach zone on Herlandsneset at the end of Atløy in Askvoll Municipality in Sogn og Fjordane. The plot is sunny with panoramic sea views that can be enjoyed from the cabin's hot tub. There is a fabulous view from the cabin towards the island of Kinn in the northwest, a landmark and the area is known as a sailing landmark along the coast. To the southwest you can see the well-known viewpoint Brurastakken and the popular hiking island Alden also called Norske Hesten. With the cabin's motorboat you can travel there and to Værlandet and Bulandet.

Ortnevik is two and half hours north of Bergen, on the south side of the Sognefjord. It's a picturesque Norwegian village sitting by the fjord at the foot of the Stølsheimen National Park. The local ferry can take you to see a bit more of the surrounding area, such as Vik, Voss and Flåm. Along side the mountain and forest trails, fishing and rowing activities found here. We expect guests to clean the cabin to the same standard they found it in or there is the option of cleaning for 500 NOK.
