From the warmth of the welcome, the beautiful house and amazing gardens, the history, the graciousness of the building and the generosity of our hosts. It was impeccable. If you are visiting the Normandy beaches I can’t recommend this Airbnb enough. A truly special place that will stay with you for weeks afterwards.

We were a family of 5. Everyone really liked the place. Very nice and modern. Three beds are upstairs so be mindful of luggage - our family left it downstairs since we were only there overnight. We had a rental car which was good because you’re 15 minutes by car from the town so it would’ve been a really far walk. The location is near Bayeaux. We were there on Sunday and Monday and some restaurants were open but of everything else was closed.

Wonderful, wonderful. For us and our taste, it was perfect and relaxing. It IS bare bones but it is comfortable and had all we needed. Within 10 minutes to an hour of ALL the landing beaches, and under and hour.5 to Calvados region. Highly recommend Bayeux and Arromanches. Momba the Collie was so much fun and our toddler enjoyed lots of playtime. Francoise is very nice and offered us fresh cider as well as bread from the bakery. We don't want to leave. <3

Julie is a very friendly, helpful and open hostess! Communication was very good, which was also important as we were actually "guests" and shared the beautiful accommodation. Of course, we had our own cozy and bright room. We were allowed to use the rest of the beautiful house with large garden (chickens and occasional cat visits included) and everything worked great! The location is very quiet and Sommervieu is a good starting point for trips to nearby Bayeux or the D-Day beaches, by car or bike. We definitely liked our first visit to Normandy and Julie's!
