FredrikLars farm at Nordmarksbergs Mansion

FredrikLars-gården adjacent to Nordmarksbergs Herrgård: 19th century or older. In this farm, the great inventor John Ericsson's grandfather Nils (b. 1747 – 1790) has lived. On a rock in the grounds of the farm, there should be a curtain with the name of Nils. Picture of this stone can be found in Värmlandsarkiv's photo archive on a picture from 1955 (photo Lennart Thelander, pictures SEVA_11229_36 and SEVA_11230-1), but has not been found in the present day. It's probably hidden by mortar that's been covered over the rocks.

Hyttan

The 160-year-old furnace in the heart of Bergslagen was used for the production of iron ore until the mid 50'. In 2010, the building was given new life and transformed from a ruin into an exclusive private residence in industrial romantic style. Enjoy the 16 meter ceiling height and a striking view of the river rushing by just outside the huge windows. On the site and in the surrounding forest, several ruins remain from the time when it was still a vibrant industry.

Timrat hus i två plan. Bottenvåningen har synliga takbjälkar, golv och tak av grova furuplankor. Full utrustat kök. Duschrum med tvättställ och WC. Rummet i bottenvåningen 2 enkelsängar samt soffgrupp framför TV’n med stora fönster med utsikt över sjön. Detta rum har huvudentrén från terrassen. De båda sovloftet har två sängar vardera. Stor terrass med trädgårdsmöbler och grill. Fantastisk fin sjöutsikt ca 200 meter till bad/fiskesjö.

If you are looking for a comfortable living in the middle of nature for you and your family, this is a nice choice. The accommodation includes one canoe that can fit 3 adults. Life jackets and paddles also included. Walking distance to the lake and river. Transport of canoe to other lakes can be arranged for a small fee.
