The Octagon is set in 2.2 acres of beautiful private woodland. It is visually secluded, and all yours for your group to explore and enjoy. The land is surrounded by open fields and farm tracks yet you are 15 mins walk from all town centre amenities. Great for families and friends and as a retreat space. Please note there are 7 beds in the octagon sleeping 10. The caravan is an extra £100. Please note we are not a "party" house and expect our guests to respect the space. Hot tub/sauna are £220.

At the end of a wooded lane through a farm gate are two converted 1930s cargo rail carriages. Recovered from the NE Railway they retain many original features while transforming these relics into cosy tiny houses. Carriage No. 1 is a light open-plan space with white washed tongue and groove walls and reclaimed school gym flooring. The double-glazed doors open onto a little private garden and the meadow with stunning views across woodland and the National Trust Gibside Estate.

Charming handy for Lake District

Archie is a charming bespoke shepherd’s hut, set in its own garden space at the top of our shared garden area. Archie offers a nostalgic space for unwinding, there’s only Archie - no other pods or huts near you. Facing southwest there are lovely views. Archie has a double bed, en-suite shower room and toilet, kitchen area with hob,microwave, fridge, fold out dining table and underfloor heating to keep it cosy. Additionally outside there’s a kitchen area, bbq , firepit & seating.
