Cottage holiday rentals in Southern Province

Our stay was completely successful! Host was extremely polite and responsive at all times. If we needed anything, we could easily contact him via chat message – he usually responded immediately and quickly took care of our concerns. It is particularly noteworthy that he took us to the next accommodation at a fair price on the day of departure. The rooms were nicely decorated, the outdoor area lovingly and attractively designed. Overall a very pleasant atmosphere – we can clearly recommend this place!

The house is located in a quiet place, in a small palm forest, next to the beach. Anushka was always in touch and resolved all issues, as well as organized a tour. The house had hot water, ac and fans. There are cafes and shops nearby, convenient access to the station. There are always few people on the beach, which is great. Would recommend this house and its host. Thank you!

Lovely house, suitable even for longer stays. A little discomfort was a smell that was left from repairs or something else, otherwise everything is super.

I could not have wished for a better place to land in the culture of Sri Lanka. Agapi Villa, truly lives up to its name: love. The loving attention that this place is created with is felt within every detail. The shower is fantastic, the kitchen has all you need to create a home-cooked meal. The bicylcle I could borrow added a lot of value to my experience. Cycling through the country side, along the ocean and to the near by city made me able to really feel as if I was taking part in the Sri Lankan life. To meet Christina, Keshan and their family and get to peek into the life they are living; a full devotion to care for the street dogs in Sri Lanka, truly left an Imprint in my heart. As well as their heart warming presence and genuine care and help during my stay. If you are wish to experience Sri lanka in an authentic way, away from the mass tourist and find yourself at one of the beaches that make you feel as if you are inside of a post-card, this is the place for you to be!

The cottage is at the entrance of a main bigger property which is a large villa with 4 bedrooms. This main villa has a pool, a lawn and access to the beach. So crossing paths with other guests should be expected. Lakmal & staff are very hospitable and can prepare wonderful meals and help out with local transportation and give tips on nearby locations. The main kitchen has all supplies and Lakmal can arrange for any groceries, fruits etc at some advance notice. It is advisable to reach the location with basics like milk, tea, coffee, oil, sugar etc on you as the location is a bit remote. The cook dishes up nice elaborate meals on request and everyone is very attentive, polite & responsive. True Sri Lankan hospitality. The beach is quite private and only village folk & fishermen access it mostly. Walks in the neighbourhood are very rewarding and you will spot peacocks and water monitors casually. It's a perfect getaway.

For me staying at Dhammika's cozy little house was one of the best airbnb experiences I have had. I really felt like home here. The house was clean, kitchen was very well equipped and the bed was so comfortable. It's next to a busy street, but it didn't bother me at all. Within a walking distance nice and peaceful beach with a lovely seafood restaurant! I liked everything about this house. Still the best part was the hospitality of the host and his family and even friends! This was beyond touristy, instead I was priviledged to become part of the community and get to know Sri Lanka a bit deeper. Thank you once again!

We had a lovely stay in the Ocean cottage! We really appreciated the pool, sunbeds and view! It was a really peaceful and calm surrounding. The bedrooms were spacious and clean and a smaller kitchen and dining area and also very friendly caretakers. We didn’t get the private chef but had good restaurants near by!

Wonderful cottage in its own stunning garden overlooking lake koggala - so quiet and tranquil - the staff were amazing - breakfast and other meals cooked on request to high standard and security at night with three fabulous dogs so you always felt very safe and looked after all the time! Ty and go on a boat safari (there are crocodiles!!!) so best not to swim in the lake But a sweet pool will allow you to cool off. The staff can order a tuk tuk if you need one and Cecilia arranged a great car for the airport run. Would highly recommend this for a really great rural stay away from the noise of the coast road!! Loved it!!

We had a great stay at shehan’s place… was worth every penny… the pool waa clean and we had the best time there.. the only thing is it is bit old construction and require a little bit of renovation… otherwise perfect overall Thank you shehan would surely recommend

Beautiful location and super helpful staff made it a really comfortable experience for us. Special shout to Mr Lakmal, who was proactive and always ready to help us with all our needs. Will highly recommend this place if you're looking for a couple of days away from the daily hustles.

I highly recommend this place! Manju is a great host, very helpful and flexible. The cottage was large, clean, very comfortable and looked better than in the photos, and the public pool was very pleasant (even after dark, because the garden is well lit). The cottage is off the beaten path, so it's quiet and peaceful, so there are lots of animals to watch. You can also have a delicious dinner on site (I warn you, the portions are giant!).

It was a good stay. Chatura is pretty responsive and the room has a mosquito net and an A/C. Can recommend it.

This experience was one of the greatest of all. Dillip is such a nice person, he cares about your well-being, he is so attentive to whatever you are needing, he made me feel like I was with a life-time friend. We had a couple of cool adventures together, because he showed me places to visit nearby. He taught me how to prepare local dishes and all of his cooking is just breathtaking. As a solo female traveler I felt safe all my stay! His family is so nice, his father brought me fruits almost daily and we had great conversations even though the language barrier. I want to come back to this magical place, totally recommend it! You will get the chance to meet an amazing human being and hopefully get a friendship on the way!
