Kid-friendly holiday rentals in St Albans

The house was absolutely lovely – the perfect getaway for us and a few friends. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Phoebe was a fantastic host, incredibly responsive and welcoming, even greeting us when we arrived. We’ll definitely be back!

James was a great host very friendly and proactive , we a slight issue and James came up with a great alternative The house is in a great area and the house was spacious and spotless clean and furnished to high standard. Our team would jump at the chance to stay here if working in the same area again

This is our third stay, as we won’t stay anywhere else! Beautiful roomy immaculately presented house in impeccable stunning grounds. Stephanie is the most conscientious and considerate host who goes above and beyond. The proximity to central London and ease of driving there is a mere 25 minutes to Baker Street. By far, all round, the best Airbnb we have stayed in.

Would definitely recommend. Warren met us to go through everything we needed to know. House was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for over 2 months while working on a project - my husband, 15 month old baby and I. The house had everything needed for such a comfortable and homey stay. Bhavisha provided us with a cot and stairgate and was always so quick to respond if we had any questions or needs at any time of day which was appreciated. She and her husband are very kind, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this house for a holiday stay in beautiful St Albans, for long terms stays with family or for work trips. It comfortably sleeps 7 in 4 bedrooms (though I wouldn't recommend the top floor bedrooms for elderly or young children as it's a very steep stair). There can be a bitnof traffic noise in the front bedrooms (I think we were just a little unlucky with construction going on opposite) but the back bedrooms are very quiet. Walking distance to everything in St Albans and a safe street. We hope to return on our next project!

Great stay at Chris and Helen place. The house was beautiful and super comfy beds and lovely dining area. We had a great stay! A pub right across the road was a great convenience and the neighbourhood was very peaceful and quiet. There were markets on in the town on the weekend and lots of great restaurants to explore. We cannot wait to come back again! ☺️

We stayed prior to a flight early the next morning. The property was ideal for us as a family. It was great that our son had his own room. Really well renovated and very clean. Marlon was a very friendly and helpful host. The property is well equipped, from the kitchen to bed linen and various amenities. It was also great access to the airport and made an early morning flight very easy.

Back Door Cottage was perfect for our short stay in the area. Everything had been planned and thought through so carefully and imaginatively. The equipment and facilities were particularly impressive, especially given the cosy size of the cottage. It all worked very well and we were very comfortable. Thank you, Lynne, for providing such a great, temporary home for our visit.

Lovely studio walking distance to river, coffee shops, local supermarkets. Lovely green to sit and have a drink. Station within 5 minutes walk to London or Windsor (which is 5 minutes on train) easier than parking. 15 minutes to Heathrow. Immaculate and clean

Wonderful location close to London and Hertfordshire attractions. We found Heather Ann's upstairs flat to be very clean, with easy instructions for entry. The hosts are very friendly and were on hand for any queries. Highly recommend as a good base for the local area.

We had a wonderful stay! Jon’s place is beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable. The neighborhood is peaceful, quiet, and feels very safe. We absolutely loved it! Jon was incredibly welcoming, responsive, and helpful throughout our visit. He truly made us feel right at home. Highly recommended!

A beautifully decorated small flat in the heart of Crystal Palace. Perfect for a couple. My parents stayed there for the weekend when visiting and they really liked it. Thank you!

We were staying here for a family funeral, and Jean Pierre could not have been more accommodating. He organised a late check out for us so we didn't have to rush, and checked in on us via messages throughout the stay. He made a difficult day a little easier, and that kind of hosting is priceless. Saj is by far the kindest, friendliest, and most helpful host we’ve ever met with Airbnb. She told us local recommendations for eating and shopping, and even helped us with information for public transportation. Her place was very clean and comfortable, and was perfect for a quick stay near the airport. We highly recommend staying with Saj if you’re in the area.

We had a wonderful stay at Stephanie's beautiful apartment and were very impressed with the contemporary decor and modern furnishings. Everything was recently renovated, squeaky clean and surprisingly spacious. The location was perfect for our visits to the St A cathedral, museums and nearby restaurants. This was our first experience with a BNB where the "host" was not onsite, and being elderly and not tech-savvy, we might have been better off at the St Albans Travelodge at half the cost, but the accommodations wouldn't have been nearly as nice. Pro Tip 1: Do not attempt international travel unless you are sure your mobile phone will work correctly at your destination. Pro Tip 2: Nando's 15 meters east of the flat has free wifi. Pro Tip 3: The "synthetic" setting on the wash machine takes 3.5 hours but your clothes will be completely dry at the end of the cycle. The only negative is the array of trash bins surrounding the entrance but once up on the first floor they are out of sight.

Great location and perfect accommodations for our 2 night stay. Easy to walk to pubs and restaurants and shopping nearby. Parking available at the house was key for us.

Clean, well furnished flat with just the right amount of style and quirkiness. Oc’s communication was friendly and informative. Quiet area next to a nice woodland. Well worth the price paid.

We had a great stay at Sarah's place. It's tucked away from the road so could have been tricky to find, but the directions were great. Sarah met us at check in and made us feel at home. The apartment itself was clean and bright. There's plenty of natural light and a lovely view over the garden. The living room/kitchen area is much more spacious than the pictures show, which was a pleasant surprise. The location is great to reach the train station and the pub in walking distance was quite nice. The train line is relatively nearby so there is a bit of train noise, but for the space you get, convenience of the location and overall experience, its only a minor thing. The sound didn't keep any of us awake but you could hear the sound of passing trains. We'd definitely stay again and would recommend the place to any friends travelling to the area.

This is an absolute gem of a place and location, with views right across the Darent Valley. I only wish we could have stayed longer! The place was spotless and everything had been perfectly prepared and very well thought through (from the local hand-drawn maps right down to the vast array of toiletries on offer). I can't think of a single thing to change or improve about the place. Diana was a lovely host and provided a lot of information prior to arrival. She had also found some suggestions of activities for us tailored to our interests, which was frankly above and beyond. We were very grateful and it was clear a lot of thought had been put in prior to our arrival. I could carry on for pages but in summary, we have already recommend the place to family and friends and we be pleased to offer our recommendation here too. Thank you, Diana, for such a lovely place to stay and we hope to be back soon!

I can't say enough great things about this place, it's a true gem! A truly magical experience, the attention to detail and the whole atmosphere and feel of The Wizards Retreat is amazing, you can tell how much care and love has gone into creating it! Dan & Lydia are wonderful accommodating hosts, clear instructions and quick to respond throughout. Perfect location for the Harry Potter studio tour a short drive away! Couldn't recommend highly enough, and I'm sure we'll return again soon! Mischief managed....for now x

What can I say? Simply perfect! Incredible place. the pictures are superb but cannot quite do it the justice it deserves. We were fortunate to have such lovely weather and felt so lucky to be able to stand by the balcony overlooking the castle with a coffee watching Windsor go by. The apartment was spotless. Furnished to a very high standard and oh so tastefully done. What a location too. Walk out the front door, turn right and within 30 seconds you can be strolling along the magnificent Long Walk. Turn left and you're immediately in the heart of Windsor amongst the bars, cafes and restaurants. We can't wait to return. Thanks Jonathan for such a wonderful stay. Brilliant host.
