House holiday rentals in St. John

We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet and private this home was considering its proximity to restaurants and the main thoroughfare in Coral Bay! It was so convenient for us to get to all the beaches we love to snorkel at AND the very best dinners were at Sharky’s right outside our front gate!! So we did not have to drive to dinner most nights!! We could walk to Crabby’s, practically next door for snorkel rentals. There is also a small market right behind Crabby’s. Any questions we had were answered almost immediately as Jose was living on the premises. We only saw him when we needed help with something. Only concern for Seniors is the winding stairwell to go upstairs to bedrooms and main bathroom. Fortunately, there is a first floor bathroom and shower we also really appreciated being Seniors ourselves!! We LOVED the screened porch surrounding the home and the small pool was refreshing after a snorkel. There is a hose for cleaning sand off everything by the pool.

We loved our stay at the Yellow Flamingo. we traveled with 2 adults and 2 kids the size of adults(14 and 12). Honestly, I was very pleased with the condo. Based on the pictures and previous experiences with smaller rentals, I was afraid we were going to be cramped or the kids bed was going to be too small. I was pleasantly surprised they had enough room to share the sofa and we had enough room to maneuver around each other. We were very pleased with the location too it was a quick scenic drive to any of the main beaches. The view from the pool was great! The pool had a ledge to sit and was about 6 ft deep in the middle. The kids were slightly disappointed they couldn't touch bottom. This was the only complaint from them and it didn't matter because they got their water fix at the beach. The kitchen setup was great because we were able to fix quick dinners easily. Our host could not have done anything more to make our stay better.

This was probably the best airbnb we’ve stayed in. It was perfect for our family of five. Drew was great and also helped us with a jeep rental. He was extremely communicative with us and made sure we were all set and ready to go when we hopped off the ferry. Bailey sweetly greeted us with a charcuterie platter and showed us around the house. The house is completely true to the listing photos and is absolutely stunning! The deck is large and we enjoyed sitting with coffee each morning looking out at the gorgeous ocean and hillside views. We slept wonderfully in the comfortable beds. The bedroom air conditioners worked perfectly and the cross breezes in the main living area kept the house cool and comfortable. Drew continued to stay in touch throughout the week. He even met us at the house one morning to help us find parking for our boat excursion. I’m already dreaming of our next visit to Back In The Day. As other reviews noted, the drive up was intimidating at first, so a jeep is a must. Kim met us in Coral Bay and we followed her up, but once we went up and down it was easy. The view of the sunrise is incredible, and it's remote enough that we didn't see another person the whole time we were there. Skinny Legs is at the bottom of the hill and we went there multiple times, Lime Out is nearby and is also a must. Most beaches are about a 15-20 minute drive; Kim had several recommendations. We'll very likely be back within the next year or so.

Viewtiful lived up to its name. Sunsets, sunrises, sunny days, cloudy days – each hour brought new delights. We never tired gazing from our mountaintop abode. The house itself is wonderfully equipped and laid out. The kitchen had all the tools we needed to cook many meals. The living room was comfortable. The bedrooms were spacious and also afforded lovely views. And the hot tub and pool were most refreshing. The many guidebooks and maps were quite useful as we planned our island adventure. The joys of the house itself were surpassed only by the friendliness, efficiency, competence, and availability of our host, Mary-Eileen and her ever helpful husband, David. Mary-Eileen met us in Cruz Bay and led us to the house, explained and showed us everything, made great recommendations, and kept in touch and responded quickly to any and all queries we had. She is an exemplary host and truly enhanced our holiday. She made a wonderful trip even better than we could have possibly expected.

The house and property were absolutely incredible. The view was amazing, especially at sunrise where we could see for miles and miles offshore. The location about 10 minutes outside of Coral Bay was perfect with easy access to restaurants and beaches. We would absolutely love to stay here again!

Loved everything about our stay! The place was beautiful, very close to restaurants/shops/beaches, super clean and comfortable. Theresa and Kyle were fabulous hosts and we would love to stay here again! We would recommend renting a jeep as the hills leading up to the house are steep.

The view from the villa was fantastic. The amazing porch was the first and last place to be each day. It was interesting to have the bedrooms and living room in separate areas but worked out fine. The beds were comfortable. As others have said, you need to be prepared for a very steep hill. For most this is not walkable. The beaches are so beautiful, like a huge swimming pool!

God I love this place, and I love Monika and Jorge. I’m hesitant to even write this review because the cottage is already booked up so quickly, ha! But it is a wonderful place and deserves a wonderful review. This was our 2nd time staying at Sea Cottage and I hope there will be many more stays. It’s perfectly located on Bordeaux Mtn, so you’re ten mins in either direction to the island’s most beautiful beaches. The location is so beautiful and peaceful. We love falling asleep at night to the sounds of the first and waking up to THAT VIEW - it’s truly magical. It has everything a solo traveler or couple might need - kitchen, comfy bed, beach supplies, etc. Perhaps best of all, Monika and Jorge are wonderful. They’re always available should you need them. Jorge is a die hard surfer and can always tell you what the wind direction means for which beaches are calm ☺️ There’s so much more to say, but my characters are limited - I’ll end with profuse thanks to M&J for another magical stay!

This place was AMAZING!!! The views were spectacular. Perfectly suited for a couple wanting to enjoy a romantic getaway on a beautiful island.

Pura Vida was lovely! The entire home was spotless. The views and the outdoor pool was our favorite. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The grounds were beautiful and interesting. The ruins had its own little history lesson and we loved the shell book and its history to previous owners of the home. We couldn’t have had a better experience. Thank you so much!

We loved our stay in this beautiful apartment with an open layout and the most magnificent views. At booking, I did not realize that the common area was open to the outside, with only screens and no AC. However, this gave a wonderful feeling, like being in an eco lodge, and there were AC units in the two bedrooms, which made sleeping very comfortable. It appeared that some of the other units in this complex had sliding doors to the patio. But we were out during the day and it was not unpleasantly warm when we were inside. If climate control at all times is important to you, then I would not recommend this unit. The kitchen was well stocked with high quality cookware and knives, which is rare in most rental properties. The parking space and close proximity to supermarkets and downtown were fantastic benefits as well. The unit was also stocked with beach towels, snorkeling gear, a cooler, beach chairs, etc. so we were able to pack light and did not need to rent items. Hope to return!

Just finished up our stay, and have to say it was stunning. The location is quiet, full of wildlife, has great local eateries and is only 5 minutes away from hiking and Salt Pond beach. We regularly saw wild donkeys, and enjoyed watching the pelicans fish for dinner in the bay below. The view is unmatched. The kitchen was well stocked with storage items, cutlery, appliances, and a grill. All worked fantastically for cooking up our fresh catch. Dena and Sarah were very responsive and had great recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Word to the wise: a Jeep is an absolute must for accessing the property. Would love to stay again!

Satori Villa was an absolute paradise. Luciah and her husband Jay were fabulous hosts. From the moment they met us at the dock and guided us to the home and gave us a tour, we felt at home in the islands. The pool is beautiful, the view from the little sitting area on the roof is exceptional. My only regret is that I’m not still there. Genuinely, one of the best AirBnB experiences I’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend booking with no hesitation.

We will definitely come back! The resort is awesome and Bethany was always ready to answer any question he had.

The previous reviews are spot on. I can’t think of anything that isn’t provided for everyday living essentials. I feel as if even a culinary chef would be happy with the kitchen and its supplies. The couch is cozy. The bed is super comfy. The wifi is dependable. But my favorite is the outdoor shower. Pictures of the Virgin Islands never do it justice. I must admit I basically lived on the wrap around porch looking out over Coral Bay. I stayed for a month so I chose not to drive because I had plenty of time for public transport. If you opt for a shorter stay I do recommend renting a car and make sure it is 4WD. The bus stop is less than 5 minutes away and only cost 1USD. It does not run on weekends. However, the people of Coral Bay are more than happy to give you a ride if they are heading your way. Be aware that the taxis will not take you from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay. You must call ahead and arrange it. The bus is there waiting when you get off the ferry. The people of Coral Bay are very warm and kind. My local host Whitni was no exception. She was super friendly, a helpful guide and even stocked me up with water. The wildlife are friendly as well. Some reviewers say it gets quite loud. Ear plugs are provided. This is a peaceful and relaxing place to stay in the midst of beautiful beaches, amazing wildlife and the friendliest neighbors you'll ever have. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever back that way. Thank you so much Marcia and Whitni!!

We stayed for four nights, just the two of us. Loved every minute. In fact, while we intended to eat out most nights for dinner, at the end of each day we were eager to return to the house, cook a meal, and relax on the porch overlooking the bay. Kitchen was well-stocked, and everything you might need is a mile away at the Love City Market (it is a little costly, fyi). The outdoor shower was a highlight, as was the view each morning from the bedroom. The open floor plan was also lovely, and the house felt very private and spacious. I won't comment much on the road, as other guests already have. I will say this: the first time, we thought, halfway up, that we might have been on the wrong road! But by the end of the stay we were mostly used to it. Definitely need four wheel drive (thankfully that's all the rental places have anyway). We would happily come back. Wish we were there now!

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage and truly loved it. The place is exactly as shown in the photos: clean, beautifully furnished, and very cozy. The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the sea and unforgettable sunsets. The view from every room was spectacular—even from the shower in the bathroom! The kitchen is fully equipped, the bed is comfortable, and the layout is well designed. The cottage is just an 8-minute drive from Cruz Bay and only 5 minutes from supermarkets, making it both peaceful and conveniently located. After exploring the entire island, we wouldn’t choose to stay anywhere else. The access road is a bit tricky at first, but after a couple of times it becomes much easier to handle. We didn’t have a 4x4 and still managed without any issues. Jessica was always incredibly helpful and quick to respond to any questions—we truly felt at home. We would definitely highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

We had a fantastic stay at Woodbine Villa! The kitchen was fantastic, having a heated pool was amazing with a toddler, and when power was out in town, we were still going strong at the villa. The location was great for us, as our favorite snorkeling beaches were nearby. If being close to restaurants is important to you, then this is probably not the place for you, but if you want peace, views, and proximity to great bays, this is a hit. It also had everything we could need for beach days or playing in the pool. Emily was also great with communication, answered all my questions quickly and send a helpful video on how to find the house.

Colleen’s place was wonderful!! Staying on the Coral Bay side of the island was a nice change of pace for us. The house was secluded and quiet. The flowers, fruit trees, birds and lizards added to the beauty. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner in a few nights. The hot tub was a wonderful way to relax in the evenings. The beach chairs and cooler were an added bonus. The location was great, we enjoyed getting to the East End beaches easily but also being close to our favorite beach, Maho. It was also nice being so close to the Love City market grocery store. Colleen’s place was the perfect place for our family of 4!! Thank you!!

Helen's place is truly a slice of paradise. the morning views of sunrise were second to none, and we had plenty of private space for both my husband and I as well as my dad. We definitely needed the 4 wheel drive to get up to the house, but it was so worth it. Super close to private beaches, good food down in the bay. We would happily stay here again any time. thank you!

You cannot beat the beautiful views! The house had everything we needed and was functional. They had beach chairs and beach umbrella, which is worth their weight in gold for beach hoping on St. John. Good place to explore the island from.
