Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Stichtse Vecht

If you’re looking for a quiet and welcoming place to stay, this is the perfect spot. The four of us really enjoyed our time here. Peter-Jan gave us a warm welcome upon arrival and shared some helpful tips. While the routes along the canals make the journeys a bit longer, the travel time to Utrecht or Amsterdam is absolutely reasonable. We’d be happy to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay! After a long day of traveling, we greatly appreciated the quiet and beautiful surroundings, especially the extremely comfortable beds! The only issue we encountered was that the previous guests had left the downstairs windows open, resulting in a lot of flies inside the house. Esther's team tried to remove as many flies as possible before our arrival, and they provided us with an electric fly swatter to handle the remaining ones. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Amsterdam or the Abcoude area!

Wir hatten tolle Tage im Haus von Richard! Die Lage ist exzellent, schön ruhig und mit dem See natürlich super zum erfrischen. Wir hatten das Boot dazu gemietet und auch eine schöne Zeit auf dem Wasser und dem größeren See verbracht. Das Haus hat alles was man braucht, klimatisierte Räume waren perfekt an den heißen Tagen. Das zusammensitzen auf der Terrasse am See am Abend, super! Mit dem Haus macht man absolut nichts falsch und würden es immer wieder buchen.

The house was very well equipped for a family gathering. The kitchen was great for preparing family meals. We were 8 for part of our stay and the large dining room and lounge were ideal for our group. You do need a car or bike to get into Abcoude. Frustratingly parking in Abcoude is not good with 2 hour time limit so bit of a hassle to go to Amsterdam by train as required parking quite a distance from the station and walking but we figured a way that worked for us. The little restaurant next door is busy particularly at weekends but is handy for a bite to eat or a drink. The house has a lovely countryside setting which suited us but does come with drawbacks for example the WiFi isn’t great and the abundant bird life can be ‘messy’ but that’s nature😊 Would definitely stay again.

Wir haben uns in dem Haus von Irene und Maurice direkt wohl gefühlt, es war sehr gut aufgeteilt, hübsch und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die großen Fenster und die wunderschöne Aussicht waren für uns ein Highlight! Auch haben wir uns sehr über die vielen Tipps und Informationen von Irene und Maurice gefreut. Insgesamt hat es uns an nichts gefehlt und wir empfehlen diese Unterkunft sehr.

I needed a reasonably priced get away and a place outside the busy city to stay while I adventured around Amsterdam. A bus stop was right by the house that made transportation super easy. I felt at home every night I stayed during my two weeks in the Netherlands. The local area is beautiful and really gives you the full experience of day to day life. The restaurants near by were really delicious. I spent a lot of days just resting and relaxing in the home and it was far more spacious than I could have imagined. The location, the atmosphere, the space, and the town all made for the perfect first time experience in the Netherlands. I wish I could have stayed longer.

We had a fabulous time at tiny house,we did lots of walks (you can use there bikes if you don't like walks) everywhere is flat ,and beautiful scenery, lots of different birds. It was so easy to get to the train station,with regular on time trains,and bus service,into Amsterdam Central we only stayed 3 nights If we'd been there longer there was lots of other places to explore,Abcoud is a lovely litte town, we had food in a lovely pub it was a nice meal at reasonable prices,and it has a supermarket if you want to cater for yourself, we had perfect weather, we sat in a little private garden in the evening with a bottle of wine and watched the wildlife. Lida and Rem where a lovely welcoming couple we were very relaxed there. Lida also went out of her way to come and pick us up, and took us back to the station which was very helpful 😀.

What a wonderful spot in such a peaceful area. The flat was everything we needed and more. The personal touches we so nice and made us feel at home.

Wir waren für ein Wochenende in der Wohnung und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Mit den Fahrrädern konnte man die nahe gelegene Metrostation gut erreichen und wir haben eine gute Zeit in Amsterdam gehabt. Die Vermieter waren sehr freundlich und immer gut erreichbar. Ich kann diese Unterkunft für Amsterdam Aufenthalte sehr empfehlen.

Kim is very responsive to any communications. Well equips home. Left some items by way of coffee etc to help when you first arrive.

I stayed for 2 nights in Vinkeveen and truly enjoyed my time there. The area is beautiful and very pleasant. The host was incredibly warm and helpful, and the check-in was absolutely smooth. I felt very comfortable and would love to come back. Highly recommended!

Wir hatten vier tolle Tage in der Unterkunft (zu dritt). Die Lage der Unterkunft ist hervorragend, in einer belebten Gegend und trotzdem etwas abgeschieden, da oberhalb des Hafenbeckens. Die Aussicht von der Dachterrasse ist am Morgen, wie auch am Abend super schön. Geräumige Wohnung mit Platz. Im Küchenblock fehlen einige wenige Dinge (Schneidebrett, Sieb) und es gibt keinen richtigen Backofen, nur ein großes Multifunktionsgerät mit Grillfunktion und Mikrowelle. Die Ausflugsziele sind super vielfältig und es ist für jeden etwas dabei (sportliche Aktivitäten auf dem Wasser und außerhalb), Fahrten nach Amsterdam oder Utrecht, Radtouren, Museen... Catherine oder die Kolleg*innen vom Hafenbüro sind tagsüber immer ansprechbar bei Fragen. Hinweis: Die Unterkunft ist nur über eine außenliegende Wendeltreppe zu erreichen. Het is een fijn verblijf. Leuk om te wandelen en fietsen. De haan hield ons soms wel wakker, maar dat hoorde bij het leven op een boerderij. Zeer gezellig en goed uitgeruste accomodatie. Zeer fijne host die klaar staat om je te helpen. Bedankt Corne en Heleen.

Le logement est spacieux et dans un Quartier agréable. C’était un peu éloigné d’Amsterdam mais nous le savions avant d’arriver. Globalement, le lieu est bien desservi. Nous avons trouvé tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Nous n’avons pas rencontré nos hôtes mais nous étions en contact sur what’s app et les échanges étaient clairs et utiles. Cette intimité nous a bien convenue.

This apartment was amazing for our quick trip to Amsterdam. The location is perfect—right on one of the main canals and walkable to everything. Helena was such a gracious host and gave us some great recs for vintage shopping, drinks, and eats. The space was well appointed and she was so flexible with our arrival and departure times. I would 100% recommend this place and would stay here again on a future visit.

Das Haus liegt in einer wunderschönen und ruhigen Umgebung. Es ist für Naturliebhaber leicht zu erreichen und dennoch nur 25 Minuten vom Stadtzentrum Amsterdams entfernt. Wir vermissten lediglich eine größere Spüle zum Abwaschen des Frühstücksgeschirrs. Insgesamt war es aber eine sehr sympathische Erfahrung.

The apartment is in a great, vibrant neighborhood only minutes from the downtown. It is spacious with plenty of light. Rein is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time in this sweet apartment. We loved sitting in the living room overlooking the canal and appreciated the great shower and overall layout of the apartment. The location is fantastic. Very residential and more peaceful than other parts of the city we have been to. We highly recommend it!

Very nice and accommodating hosts in a peaceful neighborhood. Easy access to the train station and grocery store.

This place was wonderful! It was just as described. We enjoyed listening to the birds (wild parakeets and others) as we sat on the balcony in the mornings. The stairs are steep and narrow but that is just part of being in Amsterdam. One thing to note, there are 2 showers, 2 sinks, but only 1 toilet. It didn’t cause any problem for me, but those staying in the first floor bedroom will have to climb up stairs in the middle of the night. Overall, I highly recommend!

Henri our stay was very nice and the personal touch like ,fruit,beard,eggs etc in the fridge and the other personal touches in the flat made us very welcome,if we come to Amsterdam again i would definitely stay there,it was excellent.thankyou mel & henri for allowing us to share your home with us . Our stay with MorningStar in Amsterdam was absolutely exceptional. The home was pristine, beautifully designed, and full of luxurious touches that made our three-night stay unforgettable. We arrived to find thoughtful treats like fresh fruit and chocolate waiting for us—such a warm welcome! The location was perfect: central, quiet, and incredibly walkable, which made it easy for our family of four to explore the city. Every detail exceeded our expectations.
