Cottage holiday rentals in Swain County

We are familiar with the area so we knew exactly where the cabin was, and it was perfect. Close to town and WCU, yet right on the Tuck and peaceful. Outdoor space is excellent! Great river access right on property. Had all the basics, bathroom is tight, but the outdoor space makes it all worth it.

This home was a great value for the space. The location was a nice, remote hideaway in the mountains but still close enough to hiking trails & Cherokee. It made for a nice getaway. We also had everything we needed to cook every meal, including seasoning & cookware.

Had a great time at Brandilynn's place in Bryson City. Super clean. Short drive to downtown. Pretty forest setting. Host was really responsive and easy to communicate with. Will stay again if we get the chance.

Andrew was quick to respond when we reached out last minute for a short getaway and was able to accommodate a late night check in. The house was in very good condition, clean, well stocked, and full of relaxing family entertainment. The views were beautiful and the scenic area was perfect for the stress free weekend we were looking for.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy riverfront home! The location is perfect—peaceful and quiet, yet still close to everything we wanted to do. There’s great food nearby and so many options within just a short drive. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and felt like a perfect getaway. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the area. We’d absolutely stay here again!

Great little place with wonderful views. It was exactly what we were looking for to unplug from our busy lives, and enjoy some hiking, mountain biking and languishing with a glass of wine and a good book! The outside space was perfect with plenty of comfortable seating on decks and porches, a backyard for Finley to chase around his ball, and a gas grill which made dinner prep a breeze! We hope to be back one day. Thanks Michelle!

Wonderful property! Front porch view is amazing with a perfect little fire place! All the rooms and bathroom were very neat and clean upon arrival! Very comfortable for 4 people! Location to different fishable streams was great along with being close to Bryson City.

We absolutely loved the place! The house was great and comfortable. It was just as described. The stream on the property was so relaxing and peaceful. The small fenced off dog area gave us reassurance for our pets safety at night and the dog door was a thoughtful bonus. Most of the windows were without screens so that was a slight disappointment because the weather was perfect for having the windows open. We enjoyed sitting out by the fire pit. Nothing better than a fire, the sound of a stream, and private beautiful wooded surroundings. The road getting to the property was rough. There is a mention of the gravel drive with a suggestion of having a high clearance vehicle. I would change that to state that a high clearance vehicle or a 4 wheel drive vehicle is necessary rather than just suggested. The host and accommodations were excellent. We definitely look forward to another visit.

We loved spending the weekend here! It's absolutely beautiful and the most peaceful cottage ever. Spend time on the deck in the mountain air and you'll never want to leave. Claira is a fantastic host, too. She made the whole process super easy and friendly. We would definitely stay again!

Diane's house is just lovely! The views are incredible! We enjoyed every minute of our stay, especially sitting on the deck in the evenings enjoying the sunset. The house is located within the Fontana Village area so we were also able to take advantage of the general store and pool. Diane was proactive in her communication with me and always available to answer any questions I had. This views from this house must be experienced in person!! It's just breathtaking!

We ended up extending our stay so we spent 8 nights here in total. This is a quintessential lake house. The pictures honestly do not do it justice, the cabin is beautiful with incredible views. The gorgeous mountain/lake view was enjoyed through both the giant floor to ceiling window in the living room and from the screened in porch where we at dinner almost every night. Stephanie is an incredible hostess who has stocked the cabin with everything you need, and everything you forgot! We had the great pleasure of meeting her during our stay and she ended up volunteering to be one of the witnesses at our lake elopement, so she’s now part of some very special memories! We had a few fires in the fireplace, paddled around the lake a few times in the provided kayaks, and enjoyed hanging out on the dock w/our dogs. The internet was fast and the bed was fantastic. We’ve stayed at a handful of houses on this enchanting lake over the years and this is hands down our favorite. Do not hesitate :)

Beautiful remote house. Well taken care. Remote. Intimate for couples. Big enough for a family.

I had a perfect stay for the weekend. It was close to the event I attended. The place is charming, inside and outside, comfortable beds and tasteful decorations. Everything worked as described. This little house stole my heart by its warmness and character. Is nice for a family not as much for two couples as there is not much privacy of that’s what someone is looking for. I truly enjoyed my stay when though I was there only fit the nights.

Cabin was everything we expected, very satisfied, everyone was so helpful, convenient to Cades Cove, and Pigeon Forge, we had a very enjoyable stay and plan to come back our next trip

This lake house was so clean and comfortable! The beds, pillows, blankets, and furniture were all lounge worthy!! The house had everything you could ask for and more! There were plenty of towels, tons of lake toys, a well-stocked kitchen, and plenty of seating inside and out on the deck to enjoy the beautiful views of the lake. The setup of 2 bedrooms upstairs & 2 downstairs was great for our multi-generation vacation. We had a fantastic family vacation at Lake Santeetlah. We would definitely recommend this house and hope to stay here again the next time we make it back to our favorite lake!!

if you need quiet getaway, this is the place. The views were gorgeous, cabin exactly like the pic , town is less then 10 min, grocery store less the 5 . The small town of Bryson city is just enough and it feels like Hallmark movie. Definitely check out the polar express train . Best part was the lighting of the Christmas tree. 🎄 Thanknu for having us. we will come back for sure .

Nice place near the lake. The house was very comfortable and clean. No access directly to the water but it made up for it in other ways!

Susan’s home is absolutely stunning. An exceptional mountain top home. You truly feel you are above the clouds. Incredible views all throughout the cabin with an extremely cozy interior with the true cabin feel. Would highly recommend someone has a vehicle with 4WD or AWD to ensure easy access up the last few gravel hills & steel driveway to the property. Susan and Jessey were very much in communication and helpful with any questions one could have.

We had a wonderful stay this past weekend in Bryson City! The cabin was cozy and well-appointed, and we loved the unique addition of the caboose bunkhouse—it was such a fun touch. The location couldn’t have been better—an easy walk to downtown, with shops, restaurants, and everything we needed close by. The property had all the essentials for a comfortable and relaxing weekend. We’d definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable spot in Bryson City!
