Holiday rentals with a kayak in Swain County

I can’t say enough about the property , it’s secluded but not to far out , my grandchildren loved it , plenty to keep them busy outside, the trails go everywhere and are safe , Their is even a suspension walkway / bridge over a creek , we fed the fish every day and had s’mores over the campfire , the house is perfect for a large family .it has everything you would need ,it appeared to be newly decorated with all new appliances, the home was very clean and ready when we arrived , We sat out on the wrap around porch at night and just listened to the sounds of the forest , the landscaping is amazing, i highly recommend this property , we would definitely return to this property , Tim

Had a fabulous stay! Clean, everything was neat, newer and nice! Everything worked! We stayed two nights, grilled on the charcoal grill, weather cooperated, hosts were in contact whenever we needed them. Price was reasonable, not outrageous, which was nice. Great area to walk the dog. Neighbors were friendly. Would definitely stay there again. Thank you for letting us enjoy your cabin in the woods!

Great house for a couple of days to relax for two. Great recreational area right on the lake, with quick access to Smoky Mountain National Park.

Awesome spot right on the water with a private deck and wonderful views. The house was more than accommodating. We cooked all of our meals in the ample kitchen, slept well in comfy beds, and each had our own bathrooms. The screened in porch was the best part. There were also lots of boats, floats, chairs, etc. for the lake... a definite bonus. Will definitely keep this on our list of Santeetlah houses to return to.

Everything about this house was absolutely wonderful! We had a stroke of bad luck passing around stomach flu which one of our kids brought home from school right before our trip, so we ended up staying in a couple of days. All the board games, ping pong, air hockey, ring toss and magnet darts made our stay so much better! Once we were able to get out, kayaking was a blast! What a great little spot. Very reasonably priced for everything offered!

Matthew’s place was very nice and cozy. Definitely one of the cleanest and best stocked cabins I have ever stayed in! We had a few hiccups in our trip (mainly issues caused by weather, nothing anyone could help). However, Matthew stayed in constant communication throughout the trip and kept us up to date with information we needed regarding the weather caused outages and the such and made sure we were taken care of. I can truly tell that he goes above and beyond for his guests. I would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay with extended family. We have been coming to Santeetlah for over 20 years and it's beauty is always magnificent and peaceful. More than enough space for everyone to enjoy together or in private. We cooked just about every night of our 2 week stay, except for a couple of treat nights at Topoco Lodge, which we love. Star gazing off the deck, breakfast on the quiet gorgeous lake and convenient private dock for our rented pontoon boat. Beds were very comfortable and host was responsive to the one problem we had with hot water - was addressed and fixed promptly. Note that there are a lot of stairs to access the entry of the house (not that unusual for Lake Santeetlah, but if you're new to the area it's important to know). We will be back!

We ended up extending our stay so we spent 8 nights here in total. This is a quintessential lake house. The pictures honestly do not do it justice, the cabin is beautiful with incredible views. The gorgeous mountain/lake view was enjoyed through both the giant floor to ceiling window in the living room and from the screened in porch where we at dinner almost every night. Stephanie is an incredible hostess who has stocked the cabin with everything you need, and everything you forgot! We had the great pleasure of meeting her during our stay and she ended up volunteering to be one of the witnesses at our lake elopement, so she’s now part of some very special memories! We had a few fires in the fireplace, paddled around the lake a few times in the provided kayaks, and enjoyed hanging out on the dock w/our dogs. The internet was fast and the bed was fantastic. We’ve stayed at a handful of houses on this enchanting lake over the years and this is hands down our favorite. Do not hesitate :)

Second time!! We love having lake access and such a beautiful view. Our sunset Saturday night was spectacular! With older family members, we appreciate having a very level entry with kitchen, living room, screen porch, and a Queen bed all on the main level. We also loved the water time with the paddle boards and kayaks. Easy living!! Lake Santeetlah is a Travel and Leisure top 11 most beautiful lakes in the country. So pristine and peaceful!

This lake house was so clean and comfortable! The beds, pillows, blankets, and furniture were all lounge worthy!! The house had everything you could ask for and more! There were plenty of towels, tons of lake toys, a well-stocked kitchen, and plenty of seating inside and out on the deck to enjoy the beautiful views of the lake. The setup of 2 bedrooms upstairs & 2 downstairs was great for our multi-generation vacation. We had a fantastic family vacation at Lake Santeetlah. We would definitely recommend this house and hope to stay here again the next time we make it back to our favorite lake!!

Tina's place was wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. Our favorites were the porch swing, dock, canoe, kayaks and the charcoal grill. It was just the perfect little getaway.

Another wonderful stay at this Nantahala cabin. It is remote, super clean, and had Starlink internet for us to use. We will continue to return to this cabin each year because it is a special location for us. Grab your groceries and firewood ahead of your trip and escape the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives here.

I stayed with my daughter-in-law, my son and grandkids. We went to the Polar Express train ride the first night and then next night went into town to enjoy the festivities the town puts out. The place was clean. The owners were very responsive to any requests. Unfortunately, the previous renters to us broke the hot tub. We found other things to do and enjoyed being together.

Dragonfly cottage is a perfect little getaway. We enjoyed simply being together in the house and on the porch and lazing our days away at the boat ramp. Even saw a luna moth. This was my second trip to the cottage. I’ll definitely be back again. It’s my favorite area of the lake with Joyce Kilmer and other sweet spots nearby.

We had a great time! The cabins are very clean and cozy. The fire pit time we had was very nice plus 2 jacuzzis! We all had in separate cabins and yet very close to each and plenty of privacy to each of us. Very nice grounds, we are thinking of coming back in summer and stay at cabins and new tree house which was gorgeous and will be ready by summer as per owner. We were 10 min from Casino and restaurants, stores and all attractions. We all definitely loved it! Thank you

5 Stars – The Perfect Mountain Getaway! This Airbnb was everything we hoped for and more! Nestled right on the water, the views were absolutely breathtaking—especially at sunrise and sunset. We spent most of our time outdoors because there were so many great spots to sit, relax, and soak it all in. Whether it was sipping coffee in the morning or winding down in the evening the space always felt peaceful and private. The location was ideal—just a short drive to the entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so we were able to sightsee during the day and come back to pure comfort in the evening. The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed to feel at home. The lakefront hot tub was the cherry on top 🤌🏽 If you’re looking for a serene escape with nature right at your doorstep and easy access to one of the most beautiful parks in the country, this is it. We were looking for place in mountains to be peaceful and detox ourselves with mundane work, Ryan and Ashley’s place was just like we wanted. We were pleasantly surprised by the location which is surrounded by mountains, great viewing and weather helped with our stay to see different flavors of it. The place offered a big living room with kitchen where our kids enjoyed watching TV and we were almost outside in very big front patio which offered outstanding view. One would enjoy the most if you are a party of 10+!! Ryan’s “Game Room” is a clear winner with 10+ game options we absolutely loved playing snooker and poker almost all nights. Our kids loved bath tub which was quite good for 4-5 younger kids. Last but not least Ryan and Ashley thought about a lot for the people who come in and their needs, overall it was great experience and a great price for our 4 day trip. Above all Ryan was friendly and cooperative to work with and reasonable.
