The original owner of the Cabin was an author named Catherine Woods. She wrote the very first book on the history of Palomar Mountain; Teepee to Telescope. You'll find a copy in the cabin for a good read.Lots of natural light make this little cabin feel spacious, the windows throughout the cabin offer a beautiful forest view.

The cabin is set in a tranquil location in a natural setting among green pine trees and rock formations, and encourages ideal indoor/outdoor living during your stay. The cabin rests a pleasant 8 minute/3 mile drive away from downtown Idyllwild. The tactile rock formations visible from the main deck of the cabin are easily accessible from the main road, and only 2 minute walk from the cabin.

This DOG FRIENDLY south PS private Studio casita features a view of Mt San Jacinto from your two private patios where you can enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon cocktails and is easily accessible to rte 111 and minutes from the airport, golf courses and downtown. There is a 12.5% Transient Occupancy Tax that is collected a few days prior to our guests check in date...it will come in the form of a "request payment" via the site. Treetop Hideout is a classic alpine chalet perched high on the ridge overlooking Idyllwild village, surrounded by panoramic views of the San Jacinto mountains. This secluded, quiet little cabin is for all forest lovers, but would be most enjoyed by folks with an adventurous spirit (see Winter Access). You will be greeted with the stillness of the woods, sunrise + sunset views from two cantilevered balconies, all while wrapped in a cozy, luxurious interior.
