The Appleton Retreat encompasses 120 acres hosting seven unique retreats. To the south is the Pettengill Stream, a resource protected area. To the north is the Nature Conservancy's 1,300 acre preserve and Newbert pond. Solar lights, (we are off the grid) gravity fed kitchen water, gas-hot water outdoor shower, outhouse overlooking the forest. Hiking trails everywhere! Swimming across the road on Hobbs Pond. If you book in November, there is a possibility that if it gets cold, you will not have a hot outdoor shower and will use water from a 5 gallon ceramic container for drinking and cooking.

Our rustic lakefront cabin is on beautiful crystal clear Beech Hill Pond near Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, Maine. The cabin has 2 bedrooms and is suitable for 1 to 4 guests. It is furnished with the amenities listed as well as a dock, swimming float, fire pit with firewood, gas grill, and table and chairs. Enjoy the peacefulness from the screened in porch which overlooks the lake after a day of hiking in Acadia National Park. You will hear the call of the loons while relaxing.

This 1000sq log cabin is two bedrooms. A queen, 2 twins and a queen pullout couch in the living room sleeps two. This private retreat is behind a small chicken farm with cats. Offering A fully equipped kitchen +paper towels, soaps, salt pepper propane grill, t.v. Wi-Fi,DVD, toilet paper, soaps shampoos towels. A washer and dryer available for use. Family books, games,some art supplies in a separate work, craft room. The backyard offers a wood fire circle with wood cut from the land.
