Experience living in a traditional Japanese house with the host, Amame / Goemon bath / Japanese original landscape / Breakfast included / Limited to 1 group per day

Amane is a traditional Japanese house located in a small village at the foot of Mt. Mushikura, at an altitude of 800 meters, where a somewhat nostalgic landscape of rice terraces and old houses with corrugated iron roofs unfolds before your eyes. It was built in the late Edo period, and I have heard that a temple school was run there in the early Meiji period. I moved here because I liked the thick main pillar, the presence of the house itself, the village, and the location. Since then, I have been renovating the house myself. We use old materials in our work to preserve the historic feel as much as possible. The floorboards are made from reused chestnut wood that was laid under the tatami mats and from the boards of the rice storage shelves. The paving stones from the garden have been reused for the Goemon bath, and the storehouse door from the Nagaya gate has been reused for the front door. In the summer, we only use a fan. On the other hand, in winter, you may feel very cold due to drafts, but I would like you to experience some of the ways we make life a little warmer, such as the self-built ondol (floor heating) and the Goemon bath. Kominya Amane, an inn where you can experience living in an old kominka house with the host. We recommend a consecutive night stay where you can surrender to nature and enjoy a simple daily life. I hope that the time you spend here brings you quiet joy and warmth.
