Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Tompkins County

This was such a lovely AirBnb, clean, comfortable and just a 10 minute walk to Cornell University. From check-in to check-out Randi and her husband were just wonderful -- they left us snacks and even bought us organic milk from a local dairy. The greatest hosts I've ever had at an AirBnb and just a lovely home in a beautiful, nice area.

This place is truly unique. It's a get away space for musicians who share it when they aren't using it. The place has been built up and settled in. It's gorgeous, the location and the barn architecture. But it's not uptight. It feels like late 60s - early 70s rock and roll, or like classic country music. Maddy's family has a phenomenal record collection and the stereo sounds SO good. The albums we brought came to life there. There's also an excellent book collection, lots of rock and music stuff but also philosophy, literature, eco books, and classic kids book (lots of kids books and a massive toy trunk with toys for kids of all ages!). The kitchen has got pretty much everything you need, and all the basic amenities and appliances. Around about are lots of area lamps, interesting hangings, colored glass, rugs, throws, and well cared for house plants. Finally, the pond and field have not been chemical killed. So, there are lots of birds, frogs, fish, and nests.

The cottage was the perfect getaway for me! I absolutely loved the cozy atmosphere, whimsical decor, and the beautiful view of the lake. Bleu, the resident cat, made my stay even more special—he’s incredibly friendly and loves to snuggle! Wylie is a super host, responding quickly and being very accommodating throughout my stay. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Ithaca!

Easily now one of our favorite places to stay! Absolutely spotless and in a peaceful locale (we even saw a woodpecker!) Drivable to both Seneca and Cayuga and to Ithaca. Major kudos to Diane and Glen for not only creating a charming and welcoming space with so much thought and care, but ALSO for making it affordable! I have had some terrible, terrible experiences with AirBnB hosts cancelling my reservations to gauge me for more money when they realize it's commencement for one of the colleges, even if that's not remotely the reason for our visit. Finding this listing was fate! I will definitely try to book again in the future. And hopefully the weather will be nicer!

This was a great house in a great location. Communication from owners was excellent, and house was well set up for guests. Would definitely stay here again.

Very close to commons, easy parking, super clean, very family friendly, i could tell every thoughtful accommodation had been made for small children, my kids didn’t want to leave!

Linda is an excellent host and the place is peaceful and cozy. She was proactive in communicating instructions and very welcoming. There is a lot of tour recommendations and local guide tips inside the house. It was a comfortable stay and the surrounding is serene

Jagadish's house is amazing. We stayed here for my daughter's graduation and love it. It is spacious and very clean. The gardens are stunning.

We were in the Ithaca/Newfield area for a wedding and did not want downtown Ithaca. This was 5 minute drive from wedding location and only 10 minutes into Ithaca. Ideal for us. It was clean, all the comnforts of home and Dan & Jackie were so responsive to any questions we had.

We had a lovely stay at Sioux's place. It is a fantastic location! Ithaca Commons was an easy walk away, and there is a great ice cream shop along the way. Multiple state parks with great waterfall hikes are just a short drive away. The apartment is very thoughtfully appointed, with everything you could need for a nice stay. The bed was comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised how quiet the bedroom was. We enjoyed the outdoor patio space in the evening. Check-in and check-out were very clear and easy. The provided parking was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Well equipped and roomy kitchen with nice view of the backyard garden and forest. Nice spot for early morning birding! We loved the large sitting room and chairs on the front porch. Quiet and private! Kim was super helpful. Loved pur stay!

Keith and Anna’s place was perfect for our visit to Ithaca with our 8 month old baby. The place was cute and cozy, and the hosts provided a high chair, pack n play, and even some toys for our baby. We felt right at home and it was a great base for exploring Cornell and downtown Ithaca.

I couldn’t recommend this location enough. We didn’t need much help from our host because of how impressive the listing was in the first place. Tiana made it clear that she would be happy to hop in if we needed anything! We were able to enjoy our private time with the safety of having support if needed. Ithaca is beautiful even on a bad weather weekend, and Tiana’s place is the perfect location!

This was a nice place in a nice setting, but close to downtown Ithaca. It had everything I needed for relaxing weekend.

Laura delivered as an Airbnb host; helpful, friendly and responsive. She's thorough with the effort she puts into her Airbnb. From a very well stocked kitchen to thoughtfully placed night lights nothing was missing. Overall great experience.

Megan was a great host. Her place was clean and easy to get in and out of without an issue. Everything was spotless. She was very accommodating and her communication was great. We went up for Cornell's graduation weekend. It was easy to get to from her place. If we were ever headed there again, we would definitely book with her again.

Wonderful place to stay, very private, very convenient. It's very clean. Hosts were unobtrusive and communicative via app. Instructions were clear. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 4 children, ages 8 to 12. The accommodations worked very well. Cozy space, we really only needed to be there to shower and sleep. Would stay again.

A quiet rural setting only about 13 minutes from Cornell. A very good value for the money. I would stay again.
