Tour-goers will meet their guide on Tahoe City's Commons Beach 15 minutes prior to launch (2 hours before sunset). We'll paddle South towards Sunnyside talking about Lake Tahoe's History while the sun begins to sink. After an hour of paddling South we'll pause for a brief photo opportunity and then turn around for our paddle back to Commons Beach. As we near our end point the setting sun will color the horizon and glassy smooth waters to deep pinks and purples. You'll get dramatic photos and an unforgettable experience for all! Start your day off at our Sport Shop, where I will personally fit you to the bike that suits you best! After a brief safety and usage tutorial you will take off to Bike Big Blue! Our recommended ride starts at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort sports shop. Ride the Lakeshore car-free bike path out to the all-new East Shore Bike Trail, newly renovated in 2019! After the two bike paths intersect at Nevada State Route 28, riders can safely journey southwest for 2.5 miles out towards Sand Harbor State Park, taking in all the majestic views Lake Tahoe has to offer. You have the option to stop and lounge at Memorial beach, Hidden beach, or San Hardbor. Many vistas dot the shoreline for ample resting and photo opportunities. Park the bikes (locks included) and check out Hidden and Memorial Beaches- two Tahoe gems! Turn around near Sand Harbor and double back- if you’d like we can take a stop at the Tunnel Creek Café, where you can grab refreshments and food! Then we will ride back passing the Hyatt for a visit to Billionaires Row. This tree-lined, waterfront road is brimming with draw-dropping, opulent but earthy homes, best viewed from the seat of a bike. My training is focused on smart, complex athletic movements, full-body strength, and flexibility. Body weight, resistance bands and small kettle bell or dumb bell weights is all we do. Don't have weights? Then a jug of laundry detergent or an iron skillet will do just fine! Through my professional career I've found what works and trust what I do to increase performance and reduce injury. I've been trained by the US Ski Team and Red Bull Athlete Sports Performance teams. My advantage on the World Cup was my physical and mental strength I gained from my training. I'm a snow skier, but grew up doing many sports and am very active these days on skis and compete in off-road motorcycle events. I also enjoy mountain biking, surfing, water skiing, wake surfing, foiling, hiking and rock scrambling. I feel the way I train helps build a strong base enhancing my specific training and ability for my athletic season. On this adventure, we will be hiking with snowshoes, immersing ourselves in the forest on a homemade secluded winter trail. Starting, we will spend 1 hour of hiking up 800’ in elevation at a relaxed and enjoyable pace. Up the mountain, we go through uninterrupted Tahoe National Forest. Guiding through the alpine scenery I’ll be sharing stories of the area, history, as well as local flora and fauna. Roughly halfway, we reach one of the highlights of the hike and the scenic reward of Pauly’s Point, an outcropping of rocks, and our highest point of the adventure. From here, world-renowned ski resorts of Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley are in full view as they nestle into the Sierra Nevada mountains. Breathtaking scenery surrounds us as we take a break for a snack. On our way down, we will take roughly an hour to meander our way back down the mountain through a variety of high alpine meadows, finishing a loop as we reach the end. Due to the seclusion, seeing another person is highly unlikely. So step off the beaten path and allow me to show you a true mountain outing you won’t surely forget. This hike is suitable for all ability levels. However, due to the elevation gain, uneven surfaces, and ever-changing snow conditions. This hike is considered intermediate- moderate in difficulty so be ready to break a little sweat. All who attend will be rewarded greatly by the experience. Other things to note Eat, Hydrate, and use the restroom prior to the hike. No restroom is available at our meeting location. Make sure to have proper footwear for walking through snow for up to 3 hours. A water bottle or camelback is highly recommended for the hike.
