House holiday rentals in Tucker County

Reservation, checkin and checkout were smooth. The unit is bigger than it appears in the pictures with a good sized living/dining/kitchen that is open plan and nice sized bedrooms upstairs. The WiFi worked well and there is a TV in the living room and every bedroom. If you want a more analog experience, a few TVs have VCRs and there is a wide selection of family friendly VHS tapes.

The house was beautiful and so was the setting. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very spacious. The only thing disappointing was there was 8 of us and we brought steaks to grill. As nice as the house was , I was shocked at the tiny table top grill. We ran out of the small propane bottles as there were only two that were half full. I would recommend a full size grill for a house advertised as accommodating 11 people. Other than that everything was great!!

Great way to spend a few days winding down. The lake was close to the house. Our dogs enjoyed a morning swim and a nice long walk on the trails to dry off and release some energy.

All our experience in the house was good, the only thing is that there was a really bad smell coming from in the house.

Almost Heaven was a great place to stay for a big group. We had 8 people, and we fit comfortably. The host was very responsive to our needs, and the place looked great! We would stay here again when visiting Blackwater State Park or the towns of Thomas/Davis.

Great vacation. Wendy was the best host we have ever had—responsive and generous. The house itself was one of the best stocked rentals we have ever been in. We loved the use of the kayaks and would absolutely come back to enjoy Alpine Lake here again. Very relaxed, friendly vibe within the whole community.

Very much enjoyed staying here with friends and their families! We loved playing pool and shuffle board and family meal around the large dining table! Less than 15 minutes from Wisp for snow tubing and snowboarding!

The house was just as described. It was perfect for our little family getaway! Tons of space to spread out. Loads of fun extras. The view is amazing! We had a great time!

I can’t say enough about our wonderful stay at Rosemarie’s house! Her home is HUGE and so comfortable. We had everything we needed, even when we decided to grill at 10pm. You will be blown away by the deck and the surroundings. It’s perfect for a group or family getaway. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the weekend. We are already planing 2 more trips to the area and we will definitely be staying with Rosemarie!

Great and relaxing place for a get together. The kitchen was well supplied and the rooms were all very comfortable. Pool table was a little wonky but we had fun anyway 😅

Our stay at Catherine and Jake’s place was ideal for a group trip to the Canaan Valley area. The sleeping spaces were cozy and living room/dining room was spacious for our group of 7. We loved listening to the creek behind us and the easy access to pick up the Allegheny Trail, and quick drive to Heart of the Highlands area, as well as picking up the western side of Dolly Sods. The space was clean and we loved the little details throughout!

Our family of four had a great time skiing, tubing, sledding, and hiking. House is centrally located between Davis/Blackwater Falls, Timberline and Canaan Ski areas, and Dolly Sods. Layout is great for two couples or a family with 2-3 kids that can share the loft. Hot tub was clean and well-cared for. We were also very happy with the kitchen amenities, as we love to cook!

Right on the river, walking distance to grocery store, kitchen fully stocked. Loved the blender to make a cool summer drink. Signs throughout house to aid in instruction and location of items. Spacious and homey.

Beautiful home, very clean and spacious. Plenty of towels and sheets and kitchen was well stocked. Enjoyed our stay and will be back in the future. Host was very responsive and kind.

We loved this place! We were really impressed with our stay here! We stay in Airbnbs often and this is the cleanest one we have stayed in. Spotless. The home was just as described and more. It was so comfortable -we were immediately at home when we walked in. The furnishings and decor were all high end and well put together. Cozy. The location was perfect. We went to the Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, Blackwater Falls, Lindy Point, Spruce Knob and Bald Knob during our stay. All within driving distance and the cabin was centrally located for all of our hikes. We did a puzzle at the dining table and sat in the porch to relax. The bed was super comfortable and the sheets were so soft I am hoping to find the same kind for our bed at home. The kitchen was very nice and had everything we needed during our stay. Our only regret is we didn’t stay longer! We will definitely be back and look forward to another stay here. Best around. Ali was an excellent host. Thank you Ali!

We had an absolutely amazing time! This home was well worth it. The views driving through the mountains were spectacular. Paul described their home as perfect and it did not do our experience justice, it was more than perfect. Their home is full of the most amazing art and sculptures. We didnt stop finding new things to look at and discuss all weekend. Thomas is a great little town we went to the Purple Fiddle for some amazing live music and drove 10 minutes to Davis for all the shops and restaurants. One of the most relaxing weekends we have ever had. We will absolutely be returning. Thank you both for creating such a wonderful slice of heaven and allowing the rest of us to enjoy it!

The home has plenty of comfortable seating. The kitchen is easy to use. I’d like a bit more clothes storage but we could easily make it work. It was wonderful to have a full bath downstairs. We couldn’t have asked for a better fit for our waterfall touring and the proximity to restaurants. There were 4 of us but the house could easily have fit another couple.

Great home and location on the mountain. Just a short walk to the mid mountain chairlift. Ski in ski out is so convenient. Great view of sunsets from the large windows in the back of the home. Super cozy on the sectional sofa in front of the wood stove.

The place was super clean and comfortable. Well worth the price paid and Heather is a very good host as she answered any questions I had quickly and was super helpful during my stay.

We absolutely loved this house! The kitchen was beautifully designed and incredibly well-stocked—perfect for cooking and gathering. Every detail throughout the home felt so thoughtful, from the extra touches that made our stay more comfortable to the overall cleanliness and organization. You can tell a lot of effort has been put into making guests feel welcome. The location was fantastic, just a short distance from the slopes, and the home itself was cozy, spacious, and inviting. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return!

Cozy, spacious house, walking distance to the little downtown area but private. Fenced back yard was perfect to let our dogs run. Friendly and responsive hosts. 10/10 would recommend :) also BEAUTIFUL hiking in the surrounding area!!

We had a wonderful winter stay! The house was inviting and cozy, and as other guests have mentioned well appointed with comfortable beds.
