Villa holiday rentals in Unguja South Region

We had wanted to stay in Paje, but travelling on a budget decided to stay in Jambiani and just suffer the short journey to Paje everyday. I feel it was really nice being away from the hustle and bustle, the appartment was one of the best I’ve stayed in in ages, very well equipped and comfortable. The internet was adequate but I would recommend taxing a second sim as I was on VODA and couldn’t get signal without going outside into the road. It’s a short walk to the beach, just 2/3 mins and walking along the beach you can access nice places to eat and drink. I will love to stay again

We spent three weeks as a family in Jambiani and had a wonderful time! Machekos place ist just as beautiful as you can see on the pictures and it offered all we needed for our stay. When some little things where missing in the kitchen it was no problem to text our host and he would help out quickly and he could also help us out when we had other questions, like how to get to the next Dala Dala. Next to the Macheko house you can find shops that offer everything you may need for cooking and living and the way to the beach is very short. Jambiani is a great place at all, it still is not too touristic and the local people where all very helpful and friendly. We defenitly recommend to stay at this place! We are a family of 5 and spent a week here and loved it! It worked perfectly for our family (teenage) with the three bedrooms, and general space - It is an oasis in the shade and just a short walk to the beach. We spent a lot of time at New Teddies too to use the pool and loungers etc, which is gorgeous and really close. Alida was so helpful and friendly and always at there for messaging. We did tours with Iddi (driver) who also collected us from Stone Town. He was really helpful, on time, and really reasonably priced. I would say book with him rather than on the beach! It wouldn’t be for everyone though - you should be aware it is set back in a very basic Zanzibar village. It is HOT! Mostly the house feels really cool and is wonderful to get back to, though the bedrooms are hot at night. There are fans but unfortunately Zanzibar is having an electricity crisis at the moment and there are several power cuts each day. This was probably worse than normal as it was peak season.

As our first time traveling abroad, we felt right at home at The Zanzibar Beach House (which made saying goodbye so hard.) We were blown away with the views, the amazing self-catering unit to cook our own foods (to stay within our budget) and the help we received from the hosts were great! We will miss this piece of paradise 🏝 and we only wish for everyone else planning their trip to Zanzibar to take our advise and book the stay at the unique Zanzibar Beach House! We hope to be back soon! 🇹🇿

Very nice accommodation in a prime location right on the beach. Amenities and cleanliness are very good. The terrace, which is just a jump from the Indian Ocean at high tide, is unique. We have not seen any other accommodation in Jambiani that provides such private access to the sea. At low tide, you can still lie down in the existing hot tub😎 There was a power outage twice in the ten days we were on site, but this was promptly picked up by a generator set. Hakuna matata! What made our stay that bit special was Barau, the local manager. He lives in the neighborhood, is always available and a very helpful, friendly and accommodating person. He cares very well for his guests and reliably helps to organize all kinds of tours, whether on land or water. In addition, Barau and his wife Zuhura offer very good authentic food at absolutely affordable prices. So definitely try it!

Exactly as described and met our needs perfectly. Great communication and flexibility from the host when our plans changed slightly due to travel disruptions.

Ina and Msuli are very pleasant, considerate and available hosts to facilitate the stay. Always good advice, they helped us organize our activities by offering us people we trust, especially when one of us was sick. The house is nice and the people employed are charming, always ready to help. Great stay!

Lorenz was very responsive and accommodating, particularly when we expressed concern that the whirlpool is inside and cannot be closed off. we have a 3 year old who sometimes wanders at night and we were worried he would get into the pool while we slept; Lorenz offered to drain and cover the whirlpool for us. the beach is lively and clean and everyone we encountered was very friendly. lots of restaurants nearby on the beach. the house staff is very friendly and helpful. the washer listed as an amenity was not available but the staff took our laundry and washed and dried it for us.

We booked both connecting airbnbs. They are identical. The prompt was even better than pictured. Many ig picture worthy spots. There is only ac on the bedrooms so the common areas do get warm. The house manager was extremely friendly and helpful. I recommend getting the chef he did a great job. There is a little convenience store about 10 min walk but other than that there isn’t a whole lot around. The location is an hour drive from The rock restaurant, stone town and the northern beach.

The villa offers privacy, a private swimming pool, and beach access. Riccardo is simply an outstanding host. The structure offers a blend of Italian and Zanzibari culture. The housekeepers were highly professional and very warm. The villa is exceptionally impressive and extremely well-maintained. Of most the Airbnbs I have stayed in, I would highly rate this one without any reservations.

Amazing location with endless beachfront right out the front door. Tons of restaurants within a short walk. Pool was amazing, cleaning crew was super great, and cleaned multiple times a day. Included breakfasts were amazing, but we didn’t pay extra to eat lunch or dinner there, since almost all other nearby locations were cheaper.

Hey! Amazing stay. Joseph is incredible - give this man a raise or a promotion. Beautiful location. Was a little toasty at times with there not being any aircon but for those with a bare minimum determination to survive, the fans work pretty good. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a well priced, central location to relax in and explore Paje from. Wish we made more use of the top level!

Very lovely and comfortable villa with lots of amenities, and a nice and clean shared, private pool. Two villas in a gated property. Fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator, microwave (needs to be replaced). Breakfast area by the pool. BBQ grill available. 5 minutes walk to the beach and about 10 minutes to beachfront restaurants. Kareem, who is the resident helper does it all! He is an AWESOME helper who is always available to help with anything, even the smallest detail. Fast, energetic, enthusiastic, never complains and always a happy, smiling personality. HE made our stay incredibly enjoyable. Runs errands as needed. Unfortunately, we had a few instances where the electricity went out (once for an extended period of time during the night and through around 10 am the next day) which caused discomfort since the AC and fans wouldn’t work but these were town-wide outages and not under the property’s control. However, I would recommend installing a generator to avoid such inconveniences.

The house was great. We had everything we needed and were able to visit restaurants on foot along the beach. People are incredibly welcoming. The housekeepers Majuma, Aysa and Ben were the best and loved ones. They were incredibly sweet and helpful. prepared us a super delicious breakfast and dinner every day. The two tour guides Solomon and Rahmadan booked us unforgettable trips, everything we imagined was made possible without problems. They were always there for us and offered us a car service. We all really loved it. All in all, everything went perfectly and smoothly. We can 100% recommend the villa.

We rented a two floor apartment at Villa Mina for a month. It was spacious and had all we needed for a comfortable stay. The views from both balconies were spectacular. There were loungers and beds to use which gave a little extra privacy from the beach sellers. Lots of choice of nearby restaurants. Breakfasts were excellent with coffee and freshly made fruit juice, fruit, eggs to order and a variety of pastries and breads. There is a swimming pool that can be used about a 5-minute walk away, which my girls enjoyed. Mina and everyone there are very friendly and will help with anything you ask. They made us very welcome. It felt like a home-from-home, only with a spectacular beach in front. We would love to return and hopefully will!

The house is big, well built and located in a very peaceful, quiet place, not far away from the ocean. The house was good enough equipped and with the 24/7 watchmen who also took care of the swimming pool being cleaned. Raphael was in touched and resolved a couple of issues we got while staying there. All together gives me a strong reason to recommend this house for a stay of either single traveller or a family of 4 members maximum.

Enjoyed! Nice and quiet but need a car to get there. Well received and it was easy to get in.

Simba’s apartments was a wonderful stay. Christoph was a generous and pleasant host, very available. We got to watch both the Wimbledon and Euros finals (in the bedrooms is possible too) - if you enjoy sports, it’s the right place to go. The staff was super friendly. The rooms very comfortable. And you’re a short walk from the beautiful pristine beach. SIMBA has a partnership with Mayai Hotel so you can go enjoy the pool, beach and restaurant at Mayai (10min walk away). We recommend staying here!

We had a great time here, the security guards were very helpful and nice, we will be back for sure!
