E' raggiungibile con i mezzi di trasporto pubblico : gli autobus C30 C31 C32 con partenza ogni ora circa dalla stazione ferroviaria Como San Giovanni , Como Lago Ferrovie Nord o da Piazza Matteotti in direzione Como- Bellagio, impiegano circa 8 min per raggiungere la fermata Blevio - Decorazioni Savio, distante 100 m circa dall' abitazione. It can be reached by public transport: buses C30 C31 C32 departing approximately every hour from the Como San Giovanni railway station, Como Lago Ferrovie Nord or from Piazza Matteotti towards Como-Bellagio, take about 8 minutes to reach the Blevio stop - Decorations Savio, about 100 m away from the house. A pleasant alternative to traditional public transport may be the use of Lake Como navigation boats, departing from Piazza Cavour in the direction of Torno, from where walking for about 15 minutes you will reach the destination. I ALLOW ME TO STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE SMALLEST AND CHEAPEST CAR, TO MOVE INDEPENDENTLY, AS IN OUR AREA PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND TAXIS ARE NOT COFORTABLE Villa Pasta The villa was built in the early XIX cen- tury and was bought in 1830 by the famous opera singer Giuditta Pasta hosting space for its several guests. In the park the fol lowing built: the studio painting of Clelia, Giuditta's daughter, who attended the Brera Academy in Milan; the cafe-house, a small cave to cool in the summer; the wooden theater where Giuditta practised singing. Captain Wilhelm Locke, grandson of the famous philosopher, drowned in front of his wife and other guests in the lake area in front of the villa. Later his daughter erected a gravestone in his memory. In the small ceme- tery of Blevio it is possible to visit the grave of Giuditta Pasta who died in 1865.

Very nice, cozy and clean mountain loft with unique charm and great views from the beautiful terrace of the Lago die mezzola and the mountains. I would have preferred to stay there😊. The kitchen is well equipped. Renata and Giancarlo are very friendly and helpful, Giancarlo drove us with his car to hike on the mountain. Super nice hiking opportunities! The Lake Como can be easily explored by ferry. At Lago di Mezzola, there is a beautiful beach with a great kiosk. I very much hope that I can come back one day.

The “Hydrangea Villa” at the very top of Villa Monti was a dream to stay in. The views were outstanding and all the windows open to hear the birds singing and allow cool breezes to flow thru (there is an excellent A/C system in this upper space as well). The downstairs bedroom & bath was just as clean, but not as cool as the “tower”. Communication pre-arrival was prompt and the onsite manager “MG” is friendly, attentive, knows Varenna well and gave us great suggestions for dinners & hikes ( do not miss hiking to the cemetery, waterfall and castle)! He carried our ( heavy!) bags up the 99 steps to our room- thank you MG!! The pool, although small was very refreshing and the area around it so pleasant to sit and gaze over Lake Como while drinking wine. I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend Villa Monti to anyone traveling to beautiful Varenna.

Sweet spot in small town not too far from the lake. Great walking trails right by the home to different villages and view points. Host is very knowledgeable about the area and things to do. Pool was fabulous and very refreshing. Great place all around.

Niky was a wonderful host, always responsive and her place was fantastic. As described, peaceful, private, there others staying in her other apartment but we didn't notice them once, only their car. The views are amazing, even on a rainy day sitting on the covered terrace watching the lake and clouds come and go. The location is as described, you need a car but it's an easy enough drive anywhere you want to go, we had a big Jeep Compass and the winding roads were fine. Also travelling with a baby, the apartment is perfect, Niky provided all we needed and the terrace is a lovely place to eat some dinner once she was down. Highly recommend for something away from the crowds of the central towns on the lake.
