The life rhythm in the cottage is basic, close to nature in a wonderful hiking and cycling area, in a large, nature-rich place: vegetable garden, newly created food forest, flower gardens & pond are ecologically managed. There are a few pets (dog, cat, chickens, walking duck, bees). The refrigerator is underground and the composting toilet an experience in itself. The whole is made as environmentally friendly as possible and an invitation to live simply while respecting nature. There's a wood stove.

The accommodation is in a very quiet location where you can relax wonderfully. It is perfect for escaping the daily grind and simply switching off. There are beautiful long hiking trails in the area and the nearest shopping facility is easily accessible by car. We would recommend the accommodation in good weather in order to be able to fully use the garden and the veranda as well as the holiday park. But even in the rain, it was extremely cozy and inviting. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Annemieke is a fantastic host, so kind, helpful and responsive. The Cottage is absolutely beautiful with all the amenities you could wish for. The garden is a stunning place to relax in. It’s a lovely and peaceful area with easy access to Assen. I would thoroughly recommend this home.

What a beautiful place! My husband and I slept 2 nights in the Jagershuys. The cottage is tastefully furnished and equipped with every comfort. The garden is fantastic! The dog occasionally comes to take a look, the sheep, chickens, cat and the birds complete the picture. Ellen and her husband are friendly and are nearby for questions and otherwise via a message. They let you arrive and depart in peace. And the homemade honey was also great! We enjoyed it!
