Cottage holiday rentals in West Cliff

Sundial is a beautiful cottage, central to Skelton. The cottage is comfortable and has the convenience of a downstairs and upstairs bathroom / shower and a separate utility room. I booked Sundial for the hot tub and this feature didn’t disappoint. A superb way of relaxing after a busy day. We visited Saltburn (walkable along the Cleveland way) and Whitby (I highly recommend the Park & Ride). Before coming home I drove to Marske-on-sea where my dogs and I enjoyed a gorgeous walk along the wide, open beach. Marske has a dog friendly cafe (The dog house) if any dog lovers are reading this review!

3 Railway Cottage is a fantastic base to explore the amazing beauty of North Yorkshire. The cottage is located a 20 minute walk from the centre of Pickering but is in a really quiet and private location. The only exception of course is the opportunity to wave at the heritage railway trains that pass at the back of the cottage a few times a day which is really amazing, especially if you wave from the comfort of the hot tub! I can’t recommend this location highly enough, it is a really comfortable and well equipped cottage in a fantastic location - what more could you ask for?

We had a fantastic stay here for 4 nights. It was beautifully clean and had everything and more we needed. Such lovely hosts, very responsive should you need them. Great location! Such an easy drive to a lot of places. We visited Whitby, Scarborough, Pickering, Thornton Le Dale and more! All under 1 hours drive away. Cottage is so homely and very welcoming 😊 Amazing that each room has their own en-suite. Beds are so comfy! Downstairs bedroom was great for us with someone in the party having mobility issues. Games room is a fabulous touch! Sauna and hot tub both very clean. Highly recommend to stay here. Thanks for a wonderful stay 🥰

Lovely cottage in a great location. Walking the surrounding area from the house was great and very near to a pub and tearoom which both served great food. The hot tub was an added bonus!

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely holiday home which is in a stunning location overlooking Robin Hoods Bay. It really was an unbeatable location. Steve was a fantastic host, giving us all the information we needed about the property and location. He also left us some welcome extras in the fridge 😊 The property was clean and well presented, and the hot tub and snooker room were enjoyable extras. We would happily return to this beautiful, peaceful spot in the future.

Really enjoyable stay. Everything was perfect, and I would return if I were back in the area. The location was peaceful, private, and surrounded by beautiful nature — exactly what I was hoping for. The space was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway.

Excellent stay in Pickering, the house is exactly as described and more! Very well equipped and a real home from home. It is on one of the main roads but as others have said the thoughtful ear plugs made all the difference and we had no problem finding parking every day. This is a fantastic base for exploring the local area. Highly recommended

It was a beautiful little home and we are so pleased we got the chance to stay there, really private with great views. The garden was enclosed so it was good to be allowed to let the dog out into the garden without a worry. It was really central so we could get to a lot of places and it really felt like home. 🩷

Lovely home,beautiful garden.Attention to detail with lovely decorative pieces. Was a bit surprised there wasn’t a close convenience store but worked around it. A couple of chips in the champagne glasses which I’m sure were just overlooked. Bed linen and furnishings were beautiful quality and the beds were comfy. Would definitely recommend and would be very happy to return.

Very pleasant stay in Robin Hood bay. Idealistic location, perfect for couples with a pet. Beach is only a few minutes walk away & several places to eat & drink.

It was my first holiday with my partner and our new baby (4 months) and it was lovely, the place was just what we needed, enough space and private. The host was amazing, went out of her way to help us, got us a high chair for baby even though she didn’t know how old he was and we used it and it was brilliant, really helped. The facilities were brilliant, bath/shower was lovely!! Love the open plan space so we had room for all baby stuff. LOVE the natural garden, it’s so pretty and private! Really nice at nighttime with the fairy lights. Host met us early with the parking permit so we could have a walk round while we waited for our room to be ready. Very close to Whitby town and beach! Overall a fantastic weekend, would highly recommend. Thank you so so much for a lovely time!! :) x

Had a lovely few nights in Whitby. Great location, on a quiet side street. Cosy cottage with lovely kitchen and everything we needed to cook up a Sunday roast too!

Annie's cottage is a fabulous place to stay when visiting Whitby. The location is fantastic, being super close to the beach and on a street so full of history. The cottage's facilities are top notch and really inkeeping with the character of Whitby. we loved it so much that we have rebooked for next year, can't wait

Old Forge Cottage was very stylish and comfortable. Great open plan downstairs with smart kitchen area, comfy sofa and separate modern shower room. Fabulous spiral staircase to comfy bed on mezzanine level. I loved it! Wrelton is a small village with pub and bus service in beautiful countryside. I walked to Pickering (as buses not frequent), to catch the morning North York Moors Railway train to Whitby (full day). Visited stunning Whitby Abbey and enjoyed exploring all the shops and eateries along bustling cobbled lanes. Bus rides to Kirbymoreside, Helmsley and Thornton le Dale to visit Mathewsons and Baldersons cafe (tasty breakfast and ice cream!). Coastliner bus all across NY Moors to Whitby and another bus all along the coast to Staithes and Saltburn. Olwen is a lovely lady, extremely helpful and communicative.

Lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable- perfect for a family of 4. We had a great stay in Whitby

We had a great stay as a family of 4 at Josephine’s cottage. Communication was quick and easy, and we were able to check in ahead of time which was really helpful. Josephine also sorted on-street parking while we unpacked, and a very reasonably priced parking permit for the duration of our stay. The location of the cottage is brilliant. It is a small but the bedrooms are a good size and the 4 of us had no issues as we were out and about for the majority of the time. The location meant we could pop back easily so it suited us perfectly. There are also plenty of clear instructions re hot water and appliances etc. It was a brilliant stay.

Thank you Margaret for a stay we will always remember with great fondness. The cottage is picture perfect, beautifully decorated, and character filled with everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect, with Whitby and Robins Hood Bay close by. We were not expecting how spectacular the country side is, and the views from the cottage were stunning. Margaret is the perfect host, and her accomodation is of the highest quality. Ten out if Ten from us!
