Driftwood Cottage

LyndaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Driftwood Cottage was the perfect base for our holiday to Shetland. We don't think we could have found anywhere better on the Islands! It exceeded our expectations. The cottage had everything we needed, with so many thoughtful additions too. We loved the colourful and eclectic decoration. There was plenty of space, a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable sitting room and a restful bedroom. The large walk-in shower, with plenty of hot water, was great! The location is amazing! We had views out across the sea and Shetland ponies next door. We even had a curlew in the garden one day! We had some wild weather during our stay, and Driftwood Cottage was a warm, welcoming and peaceful place to retreat to, after a day of rain and gales! It was definitely a home-from-home.

An Island Croft with Sea Views

AndrewRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Better than five star, an outstanding authentic remote island experience, thank you to the excellent host who created this. This was exactly what we hoped for; a comfortable place to be our home for a week. Cooking with the Aga was quite different and easy to learn with the good instructions. It’s quite common sense. The fire made the place extra comfortable on cooler days. The Croft is like going back in time whilst still having enough modern comfort when you need them. Thoroughly recommended, we’d love to visit again.

Shetland farm cottage close to local beauty spots

MikendaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We really enjoyed our stay here. An easy drive from Lerwick and great to base ourselves further north for a few days, to enjoy more coastal walks. June's place is clean, spacious and warm. Being located on a working farm, we were able to look out of our windows and see the new born lambs with their mothers (it was lambing season at the beginning of May). The area is peaceful and beautiful and June and her dad, Ivor were welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

3 Swinister

JillRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Emily’s place was perfect for the two of us. A welcome and cosy refuge from the Shetland wind and rain which we were experiencing while in that area. Emily was a very friendly and communicative host, and popped in to see how we were settling in. It’s easy to explore the dramatic surroundings from the farm at Swinister - we were lucky to get a decent day to walk the dramatic coastline at Eshaness, unforgettable! Heylor is a beautiful spot along Ronas Voe, and Tangwick Haa museum worth a visit. Look out for seals in the bay there. East Burn Woods just at the end of the road, is a magical place to wander amongst the trees, proof that there ARE trees in Shetland!
