Monthly Rentals in Whitetop Mountain

Incredible value! We had rock climbers/boulderers with us and have never been so close to roadside boulder problems. The telescope and mountain vista made it the perfect place to unwind after a day of climbing.

Our stay in the Mountain Cabin was great! The cabin location on the mountain and views were superb and the amenities met our expectations. The outdoor upper deck was wonderful for my pup to be contained and still enjoy the beauty and nature. We enjoyed the farm animals on the property as well as the deer and bunnies. Daphne, the Welsh terrier, was so intrigued by the yaks and the smells of the other country animals. We had two great hikes at Grayson Highlands SP including some interesting pony interactions/vocalizations at the park border fence, a fussy Texas Longhorn at the springs trail, and a morning hiking at New River State Park in NC at 221 , Mount Jefferson SNA for a picnic lunch, and of course a visit to Ashe County Cheese in West Jefferson. The drive to NC through the Grassy Creek area was so beautiful! Highly recommend this venture into NC as it's very close to Mouth of Wilson.

The cottage was ready and spotless. The area is pastoral and tranquil, great retreat. It's up the mountain, near Whitetop Mountain for amazing sunrises and sunset. The kitchen was well equipped and the mattress comfortable. Sheets appeared new. I came here to partake of my first ever Trail Days, a celebration of the AT. The Creeper Trail is across the street 100 yards. Bring bikes. It is a rail to trails with high trestles; the AT crosses several times. I hiked the AT in Grayson Highland State Park and saw the ponies. Food City is 20 minutes down in Damascus. The Damascus Diner is nearby and a bargain. I had a wonderful time and would like to visit again soon. The hosts were most helpful and appreciated.

I don’t want to say to much for selfish availability reasons… This place is the wooded escape you are looking for! I brought my 2 best friends and we are all so relaxed, and it was definitely because of Ann and Bree!! Updated everything, cozy feel, recommendations for local things, and things to help operating the house all wrapped up in welcome binder! We loved our stay and have already made plans to come back!! If I’m willing to bring family and go back many times over, I’ll let you make the decision but this one gets my respect and recommendation every time!! Thanks again ladies, it was amazing!!!
