Family-friendly holiday rentals in Willamette River

The Little House was peaceful & quiet, with a nice private yard for me & my dogs! Chris was helpful and friendly, I would recommend his place to anyone!

After staying back in 2021, this second visit felt like coming home (if home had windows that looked out in the the forest canopy and everything neat and tidy.) I just love the the view, the space itself, the trails, and above all the quiet! Susan is a responsive, friendly host who also feels to me like a guardian of the privacy.

We had a great time at this cabin!! Very peaceful and the host responded immediately to any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again!

It’s more comfortable and more beautiful than all the pictures. The river is completely visible from the living room and you can hear it all night. Within a 20 minute drive you can find amazing spots for hiking, swimming, scenic views, a few local restaurants(Pacific Northwest Pizza is amazing!), and just about anything else you would want from a location like this. If you’re willing to go an hour or two away you can get to Mt. St. Helens, the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, the Columbia River Gorge, and plenty more. The only hiccup we had for our stay was when we accidentally locked ourselves out and the Wi-Fi happened to be down(the provider’s issue, not our wonderful hosts’!). Thankfully someone was at the other house on the property to help us. The hosts were always very friendly and respectful of our privacy. We loved our time here so much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful, and fun place to get away. We hope to come back some day!

Beautiful little home tucked into the mountain side. The hot tub was to die for, with a great view to the ocean. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. All 3 restaurants in town had amazing food and great service. We were also able to go down to Tunnel Beach and see the tide pools which were amazing. Checkout wasn’t a full laundry list of things to do which was a big bonus.

An absolute gem of a place to stay. Do not hesitate to book. Beautifully designed. Wonderful wolf gas rage in a state full of electric stoves. A wonderful place to stay with friends, we didn’t want to leave. We will be back. Bigger than I expected from the photos. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It is very peaceful and beautiful. The hot tub on the deck adds a feeling of luxury. The internal stairs are quite narrow but manageable (we went up and down these all the time), and if you are not limber you should take the external stairs that are nice and wide. VERY comfortable bed. Overall highly recommend and will likely come back

We had a truly wonderful stay! The space was incredibly clean, peaceful, and beautifully decorated—with thoughtful touches throughout that made it feel extra special. It was private and quiet, yet perfectly located for exploring the Portland area. Parking was easy, and the neighborhood felt safe and welcoming. The hosts were extremely kind and communicative—we felt well taken care of from start to finish. We were very impressed and would absolutely stay here again!

This was my second stay with Andrea and it didn’t disappoint. Cozy and calm retreat within walking distance of all the Mississippi fun. Loved having morning coffee with my dog on the outdoor patio space. This is earmarked on my Portland list for my future trips.

Jim, thank you so much! My dad and aunt stayed at your place and were truly stunned by the peacefulness and natural beauty. I came out for a quick visit on Sunday night and was equally impressed—what a fabulous location! Even though we live in Eugene, my boyfriend and I will definitely be booking a stay ourselves sometime soon. During our visit, we were lucky enough to see geese and their adorable babies waddling nearby, which made the whole experience even more special. We shared sandwiches with my sister and her family for Father's Day in your lovely covered picnic area, took great pictures, and made some beautiful memories together. My daughter’s baby shower (held in Eugene) was a huge success, and it meant the world to her that my dad could be part of it. Given his stage 4 kidney cancer, travel and comfort are especially important, and your place provided exactly what he needed. Thank you for making that possible and for being such a thoughtful and gracious host.

Beautiful and peaceful stay. Very dog friendly just be mindful of giving your dogs (or kids)free rein as there’s lots of poison oak/ivy. Bob has very detailed and helpful instructions about the canine and its surroundings. The Thai restaurant in town is great as well! Overall, Bob’s cabin was cozy and the surroundings are straight out of Fern Gully.

This cabin and property are amazing. Super quiet, beautiful surroundings with cool trails... Easy to access yet you still feel like you’re in the middle of the woods. Close to the waterfalls, trails, Tokatee…Comfy bed, super clean, I’ll definitely be back.

I’ve stayed here multiple times, and each visit has been consistently excellent. The location is unbeatable—just steps from the ocean, with the calming sound of waves in the background. The accommodations are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. The hosts are exceptionally kind and responsive, always making the experience smooth and enjoyable. If you’re considering a stay, I highly recommend it—this place is a truly unique , and I’ll continue returning.

Amber and Ted have a great place. Less than half a block to the beach which 90% of the time is virtually empty of other people. We look forward to staying here again soon

We were super happy with our experience here! The location is amazing, everything was clean, easy check-in. You have everything you need and more. We will definitely be returning!

We added 2 extra days to our stay!! The view is beautiful and the beds are comfortable. We liked the low fully enclosed balcony and how it was higher off the ground for a ground floor unit. Possibly 2 feet high. Would work nice for those with young children for safety. We kept the windows open to allow airflow with no AC and felt safe due to the patio being enclosed as well. Some of the other ground floor units are walk out patios and I would not have liked that. Jeannine gifted a bottle of wine and left some great suggestions that we appreciated. The condo has everything you need with many extras in the pantry and front closet. I was pleasantly surprised. It took a few days to spot a whale, but the included binoculars and telescope in the condo was very helpful when we finally did. Pro tip, watch for all the tour boats to gather in one area, it means something has been spotted. Great tide pooling at Fogarty beach(2 miles up the road)during low tide even without a negative low tide

Great homey and welcoming house. The view of the ocean was amazing. Great place to explore the coast north and south. House had everything we needed. Comfy beds! Thank you for letting us experience a wonderful setting on the coast!

WOW, nice little gem we. And across when I saw this listing. We loved it so much we stayed another extra day. The place is clean and so relaxing. We will be back for sure.

This is the second time we've stayed at Shelley's place and it was just as good the second time around. While there are a lot of posted rules and guidelines around the house, they have obviously helped keep her home immaculate for guests. She communicates incredibly well and is more than accommodating to any special needs or requests. She invited my group to come up a night early due to her previous renters checking out early and offered us a check-out at any time of the day, not rushing us out at all. The pool and view are unmatched and I highly recommend this location to others. If we're in need of a rental in Sherwood again, Shelley's place will be our first choice.

We absolutely loved staying here and would do it again. The view was beautiful especially at sunset with the hot tub, close to restaurants, and the beach access is right by your unit. It was super clean and very well equipped, especially the kitchen! Had everything we needed including spices. Definitely recommend to anybody wanting a private space that feels like home.

The cabin was the perfect place for us to rest and relax. It is very quiet and the sunroom was our favorite spot to be. Looking out into the pine forest was very peaceful. We had everything we needed. Katrina is a great communicator. The only difficulty we had was all the stairs (kitchen, living area upstairs and bathroom/bedrooms downstairs), but that is probably on me as I didn’t check for that when making the reservation. Even with the stairs, I would stay here again.

This was an amazing treehouse! The property is super awesome, peaceful, beautiful, incredibly relaxing! They were such sweet hosts as it was our anniversary and we came from a perimeter walk to a nice surprise! Very thoughtful host! I highly recommend staying here! Thank you both!! 😊
