Our 17th Century, characterful Yorkshire longhouse provides a spacious, retreat, and a fantastic base for family and friends to meet up with plenty of opportunities for days out in the surrounding North York Moors. The house is in the vibrant market town of Pickering with it's famous heritage railway. Absolutely beautiful converted barn in a peaceful location with stunning views & walks on the doorstep. Barn was spotless, comfortable and tastefully decorated with everything you could need. Really appreciated the personal touches. We were welcomed with freshly baked bread and homemade cake. Lots of recommendations for places to visit and eat. We loved Castle Howard and the stunning countryside. Highly recommended and we can’t wait to come back

We have thoroughly enjoyed an all too brief, relaxing stay at Tarrs Yard. From entering the charming cottage, to leaving, one can't fail to be impressed by all that Lizzie and Andy have so stylishly created. The helpful, informative folder inside the cottage provides for guests' range of interests and enables visitors to capitalise on the hosts' wealth of knowledge and experience of the area. We can't wait to return and anticipate discovering more of what this area affords, whilst assured of a restful, peaceful property to daily return to. Thank you to you both for our introduction to North Yorkshire.

One of the best Airbnb cottages we have stayed in…recently decorated, tasteful furnishings, lovely gardens and everything we needed for our stay. It is a 30min walk into town, but is a flat walk along the old railway track so an easy stroll. We went to Beadlam Grange Cafe for breakfast which is a 5-10min stroll from the cottage too.

The owner Martha attended to every single need, the space was incredibly designed and immaculate, cannot rate this highly enough and just hope the owners maintain this standard and continue that brilliant service!

Absolutely lovely cottage. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Very nice furnishings and decor. Particularly liked the large shower cubicle with powerful shower. Better equipped than most self catering accommodation. Situated next to The Buck Inn where we ate on two occasions and enjoyed very nice food. The Sunday roast was delicious! Never any noise from the pub as it seemed to be mainly people going there for food. Excellent location just off the main road and only 3 miles from Pickering. Perfect for exploring, Castle Howard, Thirsk, Scarborough and an absolute must - visit to Eden Camp. We have stayed in Yorkshire many times in holiday cottages, West Wood Cottage however, will be hard to beat. Thank you to our host, Lesley x

Helen and Philip are lovely, friendly and helpful people. The accommodation is top notch with high quality beds, duvets, linen, towels etc. The welcome pack supplied was brilliant ( best weve ever had at an Airbnb) including a bottle of wine, home baked cake, chocolate, bread, milk, ham, butter, jam, tea, coffee, sugar etc in fact everything we could possibly have wanted and more. We cant recommend this lovely little place highly enough and will definitely return in the future. Thankyou so much for making our Wedding Anniversary so special
