The hosts were very friendly. They kindly offered breakfast every morning. The place was quiet and close to public transport. The Hanok was very nice with beautiful indoor yard. It was cozy and recommended if you want to experience traditional Korean accommodation.

Located in Hanok Village, it is very accessible to both Anguk-dong and Samcheong-dong. The owner was also very kind, and the porridge he gave me in the morning was really delicious. ^^

Jack's house in the Sweet

可人Rating, 5 stars107 months ago
Wow. Can I say I feel like the luckiest person in the world for renting this room during my 4 days trip in Seoul !!! The house is so clean and nice superior than any hotel room . It might not seem so great on the picture but when you enter the front door . You will truly appreciate it here. That's why I rated 4 on the accuracy. Because the real house is way better. They are four loving Koreans living in there. The father is a huge music fan. The living room is filled with music records and endless LPs. You can also see a lot of interesting all around the apartment. If you're a classic music lover or a jazz blues lover. This is even better than any sights in Seoul . And the mother in the house is so loving and caring. During my four nights over there . I had splendid breakfast. Every morning . The mom would cook different themed food for me . It was so tasty that you start to question why you have to go outside and eat while you have such good breakfast. And she helped me with my laundry. So very thoughtful~ Jack the owner is such a nice person. He took me to all kinds of places during my visit. He can speak English quite well. You won't feel the difficulty of language in another country. He would carefully asks your plan and if you want a local by the side. I can't think of anyone better than him . He knew all theplaces and has a bunch of good friends. If you want to hang out in Seoul with original Korean style. Jack would introduce a lot of nice friends to you . We even went clubbing together. Btw, Korean clubs are really hot. And the family has a younger brother living in there as well. Cool and nice. We smoked together and he learned a bit of my mother language to greet me. It feels like home here . Truly does The location of the house is not near the center. But it's within the reach of anything you want in 30mins top. There are bus and tube stations near by. Very convenient and safe. And also if Jack has time . He'll drive you to the station as well. So very nice and helpful. And if you're a smoker like me . Don't worry . The house has an amazing rooftop that you can see glamorous view of Seoul and that's where you can have a bit of smoking time~ We ended up becoming really good friends in the end. And his families feels like mine. I can't believe how emotional I got the last day of my stay. On the last day of my stay. They bought fresh seafood for me and served it in very local style. Over the top~! I feel like a president being treated this way haha. All very valuable...

5 people - Gasi room / Gaonjae (Hanok Stay) Bukchon Hanok Village

JoshuaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
What a wonderful experience staying in Bukchon Village and being immersed in the history and culture. The neighborhood is incredibly busy with tourists, but this hanok stay is just far enough out of the way where you can find peace. And thank goodness the city has enacted the 10a-5pm time limits for tourists. The morning and late afternoon/evening strolls are calm and beautiful. The hanok itself is beautiful. Sleeping on the heated floors are more comfortable than you think. Relaxing in the courtyard seeing the birds in their tiny nests right above your head is serene. And the owner's homemade breakfast that you eat communally with the other guests is quite the treat. My family and I will definitely stay there again and I highly recommend anyone going to Seoul to do the same.

Namsan Guesthouse (Hostel) twin room 2

JenniferRating, 5 stars11 months ago
Right by the popular shopping streets in Myeongdong & super convenient to commute anywhere. Great place for a budget stay in Korea. My only issue was that there were many bugs in the basement/entrance, especially at night, but that might be due to the location & not the cleanliness. Dongil was super helpful and responsive whenever I needed help with anything. I would definitely recommend this place to any solo or duo travelers.

Rakkojae Seoul Main Hanok - Master Bedroom

MaryRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The breakfast in particular was really so lovely! Great to start the day with a traditional Korean breakfast in the patio space. The traditional woodworking was so special. The staff was very attentive, and with daily cleaning, it felt more like a hotel than a regular Airbnb. If you haven’t read it already, Tanizaki’s “In Praise of Shadows” really captures the peaceful sensation of being in this type of traditional architecture. We hardly turned on the lights and appreciated the beauty of the natural lighting reflected off the walls. Bravo! :)

The place met my expectation of accommodation in traditional village. The house cute as described, clean, a novel Korean breakfast, common service areas. The surroundings with restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. Close to the palaces and 1 block from the subway. It was great to start this Seul tour in this neighborhood. Thank you

Traditional House & Breakfast /Anguk station 7 min

LelandRating, 5 stars34 months ago
Loved my stay. I spent a few days here after a week in a high end hotel. It was an awesome way to end the week experiencing a real home life in an old traditional neighborhood. Sam was extremely responsive with any info or communication issues. This is a real traditional home. You sleep on the floor, share a bathroom w the owners, eat breakfast prepared from their kitchen etc. It is not a fancy hotel type accommodation wrapped in a historical building. I thought it was amazing. Highlight of an already great trip. The owners are both really sweet and fun to interact with.
