We are traveling through South Africa, being in different places. Sunels place is absolutely stunning. Really worth a stop when making such a trip.

This is the perfect midway stop over for a family or group (including dog) travelling between Joburg and the Eastern Cape. Celeste has gone out of her way to make the place quirky and memorable while at same time ensuring your comfort and safe surroundings. The stoep is a perfect place for an evening braai and to relax after a long drive. The huge interior has many interesting objects from past days while the 4 private bedrooms (2 en-suite) are large and comfortable. The road infrastructure along this route is in excellent condition for travel and passes through magnificent scenic locations. The historic town of Aliwal North with its rejuvenated hot spring spa is a 20 minute drive away. A must visit for the adventurous traveler!

This place is a hidden gem and a great overnight stop between the Wild Coast and Johannesburg. Elaine has cleverly converted an old post office into a quirky and comfortable Airbnb. The price may seem a bit steep, but Elaine compensates for it with thoughtful treats and extras. The surrounding mountains are beautiful, and there is a river where you can swim if you are brave enough. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!
