Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Almyrida

The place was great. Location was perfect for us: close to some true gems food wise, beaches, wineries, etc. We loved it. We stayed 1 week, so we truly got a chance to enjoy it. Was also able to yoga in the morning with a view on the olive trees. All the little attentions made us feel welcomed.

This place is fantastic. Two outdoor seating areas both with breathtaking views facing west so you can watch the sunset. We were there in December during Christmas and they had a nice wood burning stove to help warm the house in addition to an electric heater. There is nothing like the ambiance of a wood burning stove . They provided all of the firewood. They also had a fully stocked kitchen . It was an easy walk to town with all the restaurants. Almost all of which were closed when we went. The beaches are a walkable distance. One of the highlights was the Aradena gorge, a 30 minute drive. The trailhead is in a beautiful ancient town. The hike is technically challenging due to loose rocks. Honestly, one of my favorite things was the area. Off season, it is incredibly quiet and peaceful. I loved seeing all the goats and sheep on the hillsides. One thing to note is the bedroom is on the third floor and the bathroom is on the first floor. This was not an issue for us.

We stayed here over the course of a week and had a great time. Sotiris and Katarina are some of the most accommodating hosts you’ll find. With fresh kalitsounia and jam they really make you feel welcome. We’ll come back again someday.

We spent 10 days at the property with our 2 1/2 year old son. The house is well equipped and really offers everything to have a nice time in the area. The village is secluded from the hustle and bustle, but still offers 2 nice taverns and cafes; and in a few minutes' drive you are on the beach or in one of the numerous taverns in a neighboring village. Nektaria was a great host, always available. We'd love to come back!

The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. The place was super clean and everything well maintained. Just felt right at home with an amazing view, great beds and a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this amazing house in Crete! The home itself is spacious, beautifully maintained, and set in a peaceful and scenic environment. The large garden was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the quiet surroundings. The location is ideal, Kalyves and Chania were both fantastic to explore, with stunning beaches, charming streets, and great local food. Our host was incredibly responsive and kind, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We felt truly welcome. Highly recommended, we would love to come back!

The apartment was great. Everything was clean and as described. Stelio was a great host and everything went smoothly. There are supermarkets, mini markets and a bus station in walking distance. All in all, Everything was prefect

We had a great stay in this very well-equipped, clean and listing-compliant accommodation. Direct access to the sea is a real asset, ideal for enjoying at any time of the day. The host, who lives just below, was very welcoming and available. Note, however, that the nearby road can be noisy in the evening, which can disturb people sensitive to noise. Despite this, we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for your hospitality!

Gorgeous hideout in a small village, ideal for visiting the surroundings. If you like the idea of sleeping to just the sound of a sheep herd, walking to a small taverna, enjoy the mountain view in the pool, or have a chat with the other guests, you'll love the place. There are nice beaches both sides, nice villages in the mountains. The apartment is simple, but smartly furnished to cook etc. Our daughter was also super happy to find a friend, Gabrielle and Petros are helpful and easy going. Overall,great stay.

It was a perfect place! George and family were very hospitable! Our daughter was even allowed to play upstairs with his children! Apartment was nice, spacious and very clean! With large balconies (with a fantastic view) and a spacious garden that was perfect for our 4 year old daughter. We got lettuce, eggs, sheep's milk and olive oil from the garden. Close to the beach, nice restaurants and hiking trails. Repeatable! We enjoyed :).

Highly recommend to anyone coming to the area. The place is exactly as in the pictures and it met our expectations and even more. The location is perfect, the apartment is incredibly clean and everything we asked for, we immediately received a response. The pool with a perfect view. And most importantly - Mina, the owner of the place. She was in daily contact with us to recommend attractions and restaurants and more.. And took care of every detail during our visit. We felt like family. And we will definitely be back in the future..

Words can’t describe how incredible this home is. Every corner you looked there was a masterpiece to be found. Beautifully decorated is an understatement, this Airbnb was curated over years and years of living. It was nested in the heart of the town. I will 100% be coming back. Hidden gem! Loved this home, literally two minute walk to Golden Beach. Katerina is so sweet (she met us in-person, had local restaurant recommendations, and even provided a bottle of wine). The home was perfect for our group of 6 (great value for the money, too). Would 100% come again!

Stavros was fantastic, as was the history of this wonderful place. Rethymno was a beautiful town and we explored everywhere on foot. We decided on walking in the morning and then having a late lunch (each lunch was fantastic) and walking back up the hill to have a light supper on the deck at sunset. Beautiful and thank you so much for the care you put into your house to make it a wonderful experience.

Wonderful Experience at the Villa Elias! Our stay at the villa was perfect. The sea view was breathtaking, especially during sunset – a true sense of calm, quiet, and complete privacy. Choosing this villa was an excellent decision, especially because of the heated pool, which the kids absolutely loved. They enjoyed both swimming and playing in the spacious garden. The villa is well-equipped, with many useful items that made our stay very comfortable, including an air pump for pool toys. The location is also great – close to shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies. We had a very pleasant stay at Villa Galania for 5 nights in May 2025. The facilities were excellent and clean. The location is peaceful, with beautiful mountain views. If you are looking for a place to relax and forget the city's hustle and bustle, this place is worth considering. The host's guide app on the phone is invaluable, providing good instructions and tips both inside and outside the villa. The mattresses were too firm for our taste, but we bought a new thicker mattress topper for the master bedroom, which made sleeping much more comfortable for us. We left the topper on the master bedroom bed for future guests to enjoy. This was our choice, and I do not want to criticize the host for this. However, if you are used to a soft mattress, the beds might feel hard. The villa is in a remote area, so I recommend renting a car. Follow the host's instructions to reach the villa, as Google Maps or other navigation apps will likely get you there via smaller and narrower roads.

This place creatively incorporates the historic parts of an olive mill with contemporary design. It was roomy and had everything we needed, but a minor thing, body wash would have been nice. Met the owner who was very nice and gracious. Loved being able to walk to 3 different great restaurants, a market, pharmacy and close proximity to Rethymno. It is strategically located between Chania and Heraklion, too. Definitely recommended!

Book this Airbnb. Do not think twice. Nice to be greeted with wine and snacks after the flight over. 3 styles of coffee makers with coffee. Sugar, spices, olive oil and balsamic to get you started. 4 bedroom 3 full baths. Great living and cooking areas. Very spacious for our group of 7. Clean and comfortable. Equipped with everything you could ask for. We made a few terrific meals with the grill and kitchen equipment. Harilao has put a lot of thought and planning in to his home. Gorgeous outdoor space with heated pool. Indoors is clean and uncluttered. The views are lovely. 1 minute on walk up the street to fresh bread daily and cute market. 3 minute walk down the street is a bigger market. 4 minute walk to my favorite beach. 8 Euro for 2 chairs and an umbrella. Bar right there if you want a drink. Walk to coffee, pastries, restaurants and bars near by. We loved the home and beach so much that we slipped a few day trips. 5 stars. I hope to come back! Amazing home.

Well appointed and peaceful location with views of the mountains. Beautiful garden with lots of places to sit in or out of the shade at different times of the day.

This is a stunning home in a great neighbourhood with a host who is an absolute 10/10! The house was even better than expected as a couple more bathrooms were added recently so there are now four. Host met us at the property, showed us around and gave extensive recommendations for all things Chania and Crete! The pool is just perfect for lounging or a dip in the evening after a hot day exploring beautiful Chania & Crete. I’d suggest you must have a car to get to and from the property as it is in a residential area however I think for Crete in general you need a car. Definitely one of the best Airbnbs we’ve ever stayed in, top to bottom. Don’t even hesitate booking this place!

We had a great stay! We were very hospitably received by the owners. The fridge was full of food and the owners had made delicious Greek stuffed vegetables for us. If you have any questions, the host responded quickly and adequately. The house was exactly as the photos suggest.
