Comfortable home in beautiful surroundings. Really responsive and friendly host. En-suite bathrooms to each bedroom and the beds were super comfy. Great parking and charger for electric car - lovely walks nearby along the river and the horse in the field behind had just given birth to a foal so our daughter was mesmerised. Oh I forgot the hot tub - that was great too!

We stayed at Simon and Belinda's place for a week and it was exactly what we needed. Fantastic location for walks and food. The Wainwright's Inn is only 0.2 miles away. Great food and local ales on your doorstep. The cottage is cosy, the kitchen is well equipped and the information provided was very thorough and useful. There are some books in the house they have prepared to show various walks and local recommendations. We did some of these walks and our 5 year old enjoyed every second! We took advantage of the leisure facilities at The Langdale. This was a great addition to the cottage! Really recommend if you want a place near to town locations, walks and local pubs/cafés/restaurants.

What a wonderful place for a peaceful break away. The house was so comfortable with all the amenities needed. The hot tub was a lovely addition too! My son, who loves wildlife photography, absolutely adored the river. He spent every possible moment down there photographing Kingfishers! I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves birds and wildlife.

Beautiful location for a lovely farm stay, great views from the hot tub! Loved being able to watch the cows and sheep. Claire was lovely and was ready to help at any moment despite us arriving so late at night! Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Cosy cottage with access to private beach on Windermere Fabulous hot tub, thoughtful touches everywhere - towels and sliders for the hot tub/lake, welcome hamper with lots of goodies, lovely wood burning stove Sauna and table tennis and marble run through the wood available - we didn’t have time to use everything - thanks for a lovely stay

We arrived on the Friday for a 3 night stay. The Barn is in a beautiful place inside and out. The Hot Tub was lovely on an evening and the patio fire was great to sit around for drinks early evening watching the Sun go down. Casterton village is only a couple of miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The village its self had a gorgeous pub 7 mins walk from the Barn which had a great range of food and served Sourdough pizza on Sunday evening after 1700hrs with a lovely warm atmosphere and open fires. There is a great taxi service and some fabulous restaurants near to the Barn. The Black Bull and the Highwayman were fabulous. (We did go to Number 9 also and it was not somewhere I could recommend, service and food really poor.) Patrick and Anika were great responsive hosts and this is a do not miss property, that offers every you need for a fabulous stay. Our little group loved it. Thank you Karen, Denise and Naomi

Hermitage cottage was in a beautiful situation right on the river Lune. The cottage was clean and tidy. We enjoyed the hot tub, the barbecue and the outdoor seating. We were extremely fortunate with the weather and really enjoyed our stay. Walks around the estate were lovely. It is a lovely base to explore the Forest of Bowland and surrounding areas.

We had a lovely stay at Punchbowl Cottage in Grayrigg. The house was cosy, spotless, and perfect for our family. We've travelled around England a bit, and this was probably the best accommodation we've stayed in so far. It's also a great base for exploring the Lake District – peaceful and beautifully located. And I must say... I completely fell in love with the hand cream from The Bath House! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality Kirsty!

Lovely, cosy cottage. Very warm, despite the inclement weather. Under floor heating was lovely! We lit a fire one evening, although we didn't really need it, and it was great!

A real gem. It’s better than the photos show. Full of character yet modern standards and amenities. Quality furnishings and kitchen equipment. Excellent mattress, soft, comfortable sheets and towels. So lovely that it’s family owned from someone born and still living in the area. Everything has been thought through so well equipped. Can’t wait to come back. We loved every minute of our stay. It’s in our top 5 of places we’ve stayed in. Thank you

Alison is a delightful lady. So kind and helpful. Her cottage ( we stayed in Jemima Puddleduck) was very comfortable. Beds and pullows especially and all spotlessly clean. All we needed was provided Alison had thought of everything. We had a fantastic week. Thank you.

The cottage was stunning and in a beautiful setting, ideally located for getting to and around the lake. Highly recommend for a family get away for beautiful scenery and tranquility.

What a fantastic place! Has all you need to have a comfortable stay and feel right at home. The view from the cottage is indeed unbeatable. Very close to local buses too, we travelled by public transport and had no issues at all. Would absolutely come back, and will recommend this place to others!

Amanda’s very comfortable home is perfectly situated in the small friendly town of Broughton in Furness - perfect for exploring the southern lakes. Easy local walks along the old railway line, and the Broughton Towers estate. A lovely couple of pubs - the Old Kings Head provided an outstanding Sunday lunch, great cafe, butcher, newsagent, bakery and local small food store. We had easy access to Coniston and Windermere and surrounding countryside. Amanda’s home is quiet, comfortable, well equipped and maintained.

Stunning location and cottage. Sunshine for our three day stay, the walk's and views are stunning. We would definitely recommend a stay at Duddon View cottage, perfectly situated for soul calming walks in the surrounding fells, better than any medicine. My husband, son, and I visited the Strawberry Cottage for four days and four nights recently and we had a wonderful time. It was the perfect size for us - ample space to lounge and cook meals. The beds were comfy so we got great sleep. And the location was perfect - just steps away from so many restaurants, the bus stop to adventures in nearby towns, and lots of trails around Derwentwater. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Michael's place was a perfect base for our 5 days in the Lakes. The house was really well set up with a fully equipped kitchen, balcony with great views, wood burner and TV with netflix. The bed was super comfy although as others have noted there are low ceilings downstairs (where bedrooms and bathroom are) so not ideal if you're tall. I'm 6ft and I could just get away without ducking when walking around, however the shower was awkward to use and I had to contort myself to avoid bumping my head. That's a minor issue though as otherwise the place was great. The location is also very convenient for accessing lots of lovely parts of the Lakes - we didn't need to use the car for 2 of the days, spending one on Ullswater and Aire Force waterfalls, and another climbing Helvellyn, both walkable from the house.

Just loved this cottage, its in a great location, no need to go out in your car as there is plently to do nearby. The cottage is very clean and nicely done out. It is well equipped, with a nice little hamper box on arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Five stars from us.

We had a wonderful stay at The Place. The location is breathtaking, and the house itself is perfect - every detail is beautiful and well thought-out, and Lucy had provided anything one could think of. Everything was of very high quality, from the bed linen and towels to the kitchen equipment. We were all adults, but if you have children, there are lots of toys, games, and activities, so that even on rainy days, there is plenty to do. Great walks nearby, perfect both for those who like hills and those who prefer flatter ground - Buttermere and Crummock are wonderful low ground walks, and of course the walk though Holme Woods to the Kirkstile is lovely. Beautiful place, the cleanest place we have ever stayed in. Sitting in the very comfy armchairs by the big window looking out over Ambleside to the beautiful view is beyond relaxing. Free parking pass is a bonus and the small park road car park, 2 mins walk away always had spaces at the end of the day, even on a bank holiday weekend. We would definitely check availability here first next time we visit Ambleside.

Herdwick Cottage was the ideal place to spend a week in Ambleside. It was clean, cosy, well equipped and in a great location.

We stayed for a week in Fox Corner for our mini moon and it was perfect for our needs - location couldn’t get better for visiting all of the local spots and there are so many beautiful walks right from the front door. Our pooch was also very comfortable and we appreciated the doggie bed and towel! Dave was so responsive and helpful when we had a minor issue during our stay. We enjoyed the hot tub after coming back from a busy day exploring. Fox Corner had all the bits we needed to have a cosy and comfortable stay. We would definitely return!

The cottage was amazing! So much character and located so beautifully in a quiet village. The attention to detail, cleanliness and personal touches left us feeling so well looked after by our host. We spent a perfect weekend at the cottage. Be it for walks, cycling or just chilling out in the wonderful back garden, Claire’s place is the perfect option. Our family loved it here and we’ll be keen to return for future stays.
