House holiday rentals in Ambleside

We had a lovely little getaway, the caravan had everything needed for a short or long trip away. The only thing that I could fault was the curtains in the single-bedroom, there is a light outside which pierces through and makes the bedroom very light. Apart from that, great stay and we’d definitely return again

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Badgers Rest. The home was beautifully clean, had everything we needed and in a great location. The facilities were amazing nearby too.

The lodge was fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. I even picked up a couple of decor ideas. Had a lovely time feeding the ducks, swans and other wildlife, very relaxing. Shops and amenities easy to get to by car, lovely restaurants around the area. Would absolutely recommend.

Extremely pleasant week in Kendal and surrounding area using Cathy’s lovely accommodation as our base . Fully equipped , very comfortable , lovely decor and the bonus of private parking blended with some very fine weather all added into a perfect week for our family holiday get together. Highly recommended to anyone wishing to be close to amenities within lovely surroundings…..

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

We had an absolute fantastic few days at Oak Barn celebrating our dad's 70th birthday with family. The hosts were so lovely and attentive and the place itself was gorgeous and in the most picturesque setting. Everything was as described and we were close enough to everywhere we wanted to go. This trip meant so much to us and Oak Barn and the hosts made it so special, even down to a thoughtful birthday card and goodies on arrival. We will definitely look to stay again. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay here and made amazing memories. The surroundings were stunning, and we felt right at home. We loved the cottage and the little touches made the stay even better - the brownies were to die for. Rosie was a great host, and we’d love to come back in the near future.

A really lovely Airbnb set in a lovely location conveniently situated about 15 minutes walk from Windermere town Centre We found the property to be exactly as described in the reviews and we couldn’t fault the place.Everything we needed was at hand and the amenities at the property were really excellent.. The house was spotlessly clean, modern and excellently maintained. We found the lovely secluded garden a lovely place to meet for afternoon/evening drinks in the sunshine.. We did experience very cool and inclement weather for the month of June and the addition of Sky/Netflix TV and central heating a great addition for our holiday.. The host was very accommodating and easy to contact at the end of a text or a telephone call. Would I recommend this property? Absolutely !! It’s just a really lovely Airbnb

We had a really lovely time. Beautiful accommodation and very comfortable. Great hosts. Perfect base to explore the Lakes. Lots to do within walking distance. Would 100% recommend to anybody. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Hopefully we’ll be back one day.

The cottage was lovely and clean. We loved the deck and its beautiful views. We had very hot weather but the downstairs bedrooms stayed nice and cool, and the hosts checked in to make sure the settings were comfortable for us. Our only small issue was getting our car out of the parking space, as it was quite tight, but we managed. Overall we had a wonderful, peaceful stay.

We stayed a week in Danes Court. It’s a spacious, characterful, and very peaceful Victorian Lodge. Well equipped with good WiFi in the main rooms and TVs in the lounge and bedrooms. It’s well equipped and comfortable, and we slept well in the king size bed. We enjoyed sitting out in the afternoons (weather permitting), enjoying the peace and quiet and flutter of the birds. Danes Court is easily accessed from a very quiet road. Kendal, Windermere, and Ambleside are all within 30 minutes drive, and there are plenty of excellent restaurants/pubs within 10-20 minutes drive through beautiful countryside.

Great base for local walks, and open water swimming off the jetty at the bottom of the garden. Plus plenty of space for competitive board games in the house. Loved it.

Julia was a fantastic host. Really friendly and responsive, even when we locked ourselves out! The house itself is lovely - the three bedrooms are on two different floors which worked really well for our group. Lots of fab walks out of the door and a great local pub too. Would recommend!

We had a lovely stay here and had everything we needed at the lodge. There was a very nice spacious kitchen and living area with a big telly, the enclosed garden was great for our little dog and there were also great facilities provided for the dog; towels, bowls, biscuits etc. the location was really good for us, walkable to Windermere and Bowness. Our favourite dog friendly pubs were The Crafty Baa and the Angel Inn. Would definitely recommend!

This Airbnb is wonderful and we would definitely stay again. The location is perfect - within close walking distance to the pubs and restaurants of downtown Sedbergh, yet in a quiet, peaceful spot on the edge of town right on a great walking path. It's also a good location in the sense that it's close enough to the Lake District to use as a base for exploring that area, as well as being in the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The house is clean, well-equipped, and the photos are accurate. It's a very nice place with no real negatives to mention.

I’ve found my new favorite holiday stay. Beautifully appointed little cottage and so cozy. Very easy to walk to town and hikes. Felt like home and didn’t want to leave!

We had a fantastic stay at Priory Manor. It’s a beautiful place: large rooms with high ceilings, lots of windows, nice furniture, immaculately clean. To be honest we found it even more stunning than the pictures showed! The bedrooms are very comfortable, and both have ensuites; the main has a soaker tub as well! If the large sitting areas aren’t enough there is the tower with great views. The hosts are fantastic as well. They have made a great effort to provide a comfortable welcoming environment. There is coffee and tea, cookies, a bottle of wine!, as well as little things like books and magazines throughout. Even wireless phone chargers! They really made an effort, and it made a huge difference in making our trip relaxing and enjoyable. I could go on and on. But overall this is a great property with great hosts. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Came here with my partner and two young kids and had the best time, absolutely lovely home and a great responsive host. We have visited the Lake District many times and can honestly say this was by far our best choice of accommodation, great location, plenty of local amenities within walking distance. The accommodation its self was immaculate and very spacious/homely. The kids loved it. Clare was a great host who ensured we had a stress free four day trip, we will most definitely be returning!
