Cottage holiday rentals in Appalachian Mountains

This was my third stay at Rosa's home and it is always a pleasure and positive experience. Great location with nearby restaurants and activities!

This place is mesmerizing! My husband and I traveled to this beautiful cottage for our honeymoon, and it was wonderful. We enjoyed each moment spent looking around the cottage at all the intricate details. We enjoyed the relaxing sound of the creek, and we loved every second of it. It’s absolutely beautiful everywhere you look whether you’re inside or outside. Being at Mad Hatter Cottage was a 10/10 experience, and we definitely would love to come back! Thank you for everything; we had the best time!

Lovely place and just as it was described. Cooked steak and shrimp on the grill one night and everything worked fantastic. Very close to town-ate out at the Altana Rooftop Lounge on Friday night and it was a very nice location downtown. The bed was firm and one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in (on the road) in years. The deck and hot tub facing the creek was perfect Overall a wonderful trip we look forward to coming back Thanks for being a great host!!

This was the perfect place for us to stay for our 29th anniversary! I was looking for something private so that just the two of us could spend some much needed alone together! I think it was actually more beautiful in person than I thought it would be. The pool was huge! The hot was enjoyable! The firepit was perfect! The fishing was plentiful! The hiking trails were extensive! Lots to do in the several surrounding towns if you wanted. The price is a little expensive but I’ve found that for any airbnb and understand the upkeep it must take for all the amenities alone! It will always be a cherished moment for us and can’t say enough good about it and would do it again!

Chrissy’s place was an absolute dream! We wanted to get away from the city and so glad we chose Chrissy’s cottage. It was peaceful and only 3 minute walk to the beach. The beach was empty and we had it all to ourselves. We had such a lovely time just sitting around the firepit, making smores and watching our fur baby play in the backyard. The cottage itself was very clean and spacious! It was fully stocked and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Highly highly recommend! We’re already talking about returning there and we just got back from the trip!

This cottage was absolutely beautiful and perfect for a couple’s getaway! We loved how private the cottage was and the privacy fence around the backyard. The fire pit was a great way to wind down and enjoy s’mores (provided by the hosts) at the end of the night. The hot tub was also a perfect way to relax and unwind after a day of hiking. We loved that the instructions were provided so we explicitly knew what to do and not to do. The bed and bed covers were very comfortable and incredibly clean! We enjoyed all the little details put into decorating the cottage without being cluttered. While we didn’t need to use more than a few utensils when staying there, the kitchen was fully stocked and even had a little Keurig coffee bar to use if desired. This cottage was well worth the price and a phenomenal place to stay while visiting Lake Wallenpaupack. It’s close enough to important and fun places, but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. Highly recommend!!!!!!

it was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. My husband and I stayed here for our 2nd anniversary. We felt refreshed and at peace. The sauna and hot tub were definitely a pleasure. My favorite night was when I was in the hot tub and it was raining on the tin roof. so relaxing. If we ever go back I will definitely want to stay there again

The location was stunning. Enjoyed watching the sheep romp about. It was the perfect retreat for a girl’s weekend. Highly recommend!

The place is beautiful! Even better than the pictures. The hot tub was so relaxing and the view is gorgeous. Lots of privacy for a quiet getaway. The place is very clean and Jess is a great host. She’s very friendly and responsive and also gives you privacy which we really appreciated. The place has everything you need for a comfortable stay, the host has even thought about the small things! We loved this place and I would definitely recommend it!! We would love to visit again! :)

This was our second stay at the Octopus cottage, a pristine cottage that is steps from the beach that was immaculate and well stocked. We loved the hot tub and the fenced in yard for our two small pups. A must stay in Villas where you are steps from the beach to watch the beautiful sunset. Donna as a host is 5 Star. We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Ke/Shannon’s place—it was peaceful, clean, and perfect for our group of five. The home included all the listed amenities, and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of snacks left for us on arrival. Shannon was incredibly responsive, answering our questions almost immediately. The view of the lake is beautiful, and the private dock was a great spot to relax outdoors. While the lake is quite weedy for swimming or fishing, the provided kayaks are a nice option to explore the water. Would definitely recommend!

This was our second time at this property, and it will be our first choice any time we visit the area. It is so peaceful, great location to feel off the grid, but easily and quickly get to Harrisburg, Carlisle, and surrounding areas.

My girlfriend and I absolutely loved this cute romantic cottage. We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing night, made ourselves breakfast in the full kitchen, and then went for a challenging hike on the AT that wasn't too far away. Would come back for a great getaway. Thanks Reagan!

What an absolutely beautiful space! Once we arrived, we didn’t want to leave. The house was super clean and well laid out. This is a perfect spot to unwind or recharge. Bring all your food and drink and just enjoy the beautiful views. We saw lots of wildlife, including herons, bald eagles, osprey, little lizards, deer, turtle, and some jumping fishies. We checked out Fossil Beach at Westmoreland State Park. Lots of walking trails and a lot of eagles. We enjoyed some bbq from Fishers at the Barn. The rest of the time we lounged on one of the decks or the dock and just took in the sights and sounds. Thanks for sharing the beautiful space!! We hope to visit again this fall! 10/10.

My husband, baby, and two dogs enjoyed a peaceful get away at the pond. Everything was exactly as described and we were able to completely disconnect for a few days. We reached out to Mary about something during our stay and she was responsive and prompt to support. We also were visited by one of her two dogs. I’d recommend to someone looking for a quiet trip surrounded by nature.

The Hobbit House was the perfect getaway! Everything was as described and more. The bathroom was super clean, the bed cozy and the location wonderful! I enjoyed the animals…they made me smile. Angela was an attentive host. This was a fantastic solo getaway!

Smokey pines is the perfect getaway. It's private, secluded yet close to the towns and people we want to visit. It feels homey and comfortable and has all the amenities required. We'll definitely be back!

I had a fabulous stay at this little cabin! It’s just the right size for two people to get away relax and enjoy hiking in nature that is literally right outside the door. Kate was fantastic hostess and always willing to help make the stay as comfortable as possible.

This place was built with the river and sunset in mind! The angle of the house is perfectly set to see the river flow from one end to the other! Two sides of the house has large glass windows where you have a picturesque view from the house and loft. The house smelt and looked squeaky clean inside. The decor was well thought out and aesthetically pleasing. The house is small but very functional for it’s purpose. We felt right at home and comfortable. There were fresh eggs and butter in the refrigerator for breakfast and bread and coffee cake in the freezer which was a very nice and thoughtful touch. The kitchen and bathroom was stocked with essentials too. We were just passing through town and hoped for a relaxing place to stay. We were not disappointed! Wish we could have stayed longer! Maybe next time.

We all felt like we won the lottery with Ken and rachel’s place! There was such attention to detail, such kindness in the communication, and we will definitely be back. You will not be disappointed!

Description was accurate. The place is nice, great for yard games, hot tub has a private fence. Kitchen is well stocked as well as the bathrooms, extra blankets, linens, fans they have thought of everything. We will rent again for sure. The location is perfect and close to everything.

We did a last minute weekend with our 5 and 2 year olds and Catherine’s place was perfect. The bedrooms being upstairs away from the living area meant it was nice and quiet for the kids, they had life jackets in all sizes, and we visited a fun children’s museum 15 mins away. We had a few questions during our stay and Catherine was always quick to respond and super helpful.

Pedro and Caitlin’s accommodation is a dream. The deco is so beautiful and unique that as a pink lover I felt like I was in Heaven. The private parking is great, right outside the door. And with the car you can get anywhere within a very short drive. The surrounding area is very quiet both day and night which is perfect. Both of them are great hosts. Super professional but at the same time very friendly and attentive. I couldn’t recommend The Pinky enough. If you’re staying in Nashville this place is a must.
