Cottage holiday rentals in Applecross

Another long stay at Forge End has come to an end for my self and work colleague. Again a big thank you to Alea for accommodating us and looking after us over the past 13 weeks and during the booking process. Forge End has been a real home from home for us and has made a long period working away from home a really enjoyable. Your home in Applecross is real find for us and if/when we are required to visit Applecross you will be our first choice every time. Thank you again from both of us.

This garden cottage was straight out of a romantic fairytale! The gorgeous garden surrounding the cottage and the view of the water and misty rolling hills framed perfectly by a stone wall and ivy were just breathtaking (especially while sitting in the wood fire heated hot tub). The cottage itself was incredibly cozy. We had nearly gotten stranded on Islay with car issues and we weren’t even sure we’d get to enjoy this stop on our holiday. By the time we arrived, we were completely exhausted from the chaos of the previous 24 hours so this relaxing and welcoming space was exactly what we needed to decompress. ☺️ The cottage was well equipped and very clean! We had everything we needed and then some. Caroline was an exceptional host. She was remarkably responsive and lovely to interact with both prior to our stay (when we weren’t sure we’d be able to make it) and during our stay! Anyone with the opportunity to stay here, should absolutely do it! Thank you for everything, Caroline!!

Eagles Nest is a stunning property in a peaceful and beautiful location. David was a superb host who was there to meet us and give us great inside guidance on Skye. The apartment was spotless and had considerations for every situation we could think of including a lovely hamper which meant we didnt need to consider rushing around for food after a long drive. A cosy home which is ideal for 2 people and is a perfect location where you can easily drive to all the tourist spots in under an hour but not be overwhelmed by Tourists day and night.

We loved our stay in the waterfall cottage! It was a perfect place for our newlywed destination to kick off our honeymoon. The view is stunning and we loved drinking our morning coffee in the back porch taking it all in. The inside is very cozy and we cooked many meals in the kitchen which was well appointed. There are other lodgings directly adjacent to the property but fortunately were all vacant otherwise it would have been less private than expected. This is listed as a detached cottage, but a wall is directly shared with a cottage next door technically making this a duplex. A bit misleading but all good since it was vacant for our stay. Nina was responsive to all our questions which we appreciated. We loved Loch Tay, the Crannog Center, and Aberfeldy nearby. While there are no direct signs to get to the lochside, there are paths down to the loch through the gate or nearby boathouse lodge entrance from the road to walk down to see the water.

The house was wonderful - we were delighted with both the location and with the property. The house was immaculate, and beautifully furnished with some really lovely pictures and objects throughout. The rooms were all good-sized and bright with the kitchen/dining area overlooking the garden a real standout. It was very well maintained and it felt like a proper home from home. The location was really lovely too - nice and quiet with a very short walk to the beach. We particularly enjoyed our walks around the area and along to Chanonry Point to look for the dolphins. A local pub and a lovely restaurant were close by too which was a bonus! Our host, Eva, provided us with clear and concise information prior to our arrival and messaged us a couple of times during our stay to make sure that all was in order. This was very much appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend the property to others, and we certainly plan to visit again!

Great place to stay on the isle of skye! Everything looked like the picture. When in the hot tub you only see a small amount of the ocean due to a large bush but that was the only thing in the photos that didn’t match. Overall very private, clean and enjoyable. Only a 30min drive to Portree.

Lovely place , super clean with everything you would ever need for a short/long stay .super responsive when messaged too ! What a great place ! Only issue is parking on and off the drive can be super tight due to the neighbours parking outside the drive other than that what a place !

Words cannot do justice to this amazing property; it has to be experienced to be believed. Terrific view of the bay just steps out the back door, yet near the center of town. Extremely quiet. Spacious. Comfortable. Fantastic master bath and bedroom, with two tubs, two sinks, and a wonderful shower. An office for work or reading. Powder room and storage room. Good washer and dryer. A good kitchen and dining area. Comfortable sitting room with a telescope for viewing the bay and its ptarmigan inhabitants. Great tv and internet. Separate sauna building with a view of the bay. Amenities galore, including boots for walking on the beach, And the most thoughtful attention to details that you'll ever encounter. Also, the hosts are extremely generous. It's simply lovable.

Beautiful cottage. Felt out of the way but was close to road into portree. Very warm building, bathroom and rooms superb. Would highly recommend and revisit. Visiting sheep was an added bonus!

Tigh Darach is a beautiful home in a glorious location. A stunning wood-frame construction built with a wonderful eye for design, light and space. Everything was good quality, eco and in the best possible taste. Not only aesthetic but also extremely comfortable! A lovely family home that they are happy to share with us via Airbnb. Thank you Amanda and Roderick!

What an amazing location and host. We were blessed with sunshine for our stay which made it even more spectacular. Una was a brilliant host, provided recommendations and the AirBnb was perfect for our stay. Can't wait to visit again and explore more of the highlands.

We really enjoyed our stay. The kabin was spacious, welcoming and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and made cooking easy. It was great to havethe basic items such as soap, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll and so on. The view was wonderful especially when a bright, uplifting rainbow appeared. We saw deer too which with the binoculars were clear to see. The beds were comfortable and the bedding spotless. Thank you Sonia and the team, it was everything that we hoped for. And a special thank you to Liz for giving us such a warm welcome.

Merman Cottage was a lovely spot close to various sites in the North of Skye. The place was peaceful, clean, and had everything we needed for a few days with our 3yo daughter. Alistair was a great host and provided us with helpful tips. It was a pleasure!

We spent a perfect few days at the Garden Cottage, and only wish we could have stayed longer! It was everything we hoped for while visiting the Highlands and exploring the area. The view is just spectacular. It was so peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed hiking to the Hill Bothy on the trail behind the house, walking and seeing the farm animals, waking up to the sounds of birds, and sitting by the fireplace in the evening watching the clouds go by and the sunset late into the night. Kate made everything seamless and easy to feel right at home in. Cannot recommend enough and hope to be back soon!

When we arrived at Juliet’s cottage we instantly knew we were in for a treat. With lambs and bunnies literally outside the front door - we felt fully immersed in nature. The cottage has been beautifully decorated with extra special touches including the local artwork and textiles. We absolutely loved our stay, and feel incredibly grateful that we were lucky enough to experience Skirnish Cottage whilst on a trip visiting Scotland (where my family is originally from) with our 1 year old before our next baby arrives!

what a fabulous stay! we had the best time and the weather was perfect. and in such a beautiful location! we will definitely be back! very helpful owners and the cottage was absolutely gorgeous.. can't think of one single complaint! looking to book again 🤩

We had a terrific evening at the gatehouse. There were 3 adults in our group and the property was perfect. Having a washer/dryer was fabulous. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook dinner. This property is very clean and comfortable. We loved the castle grounds, it really is a beautiful spot. Thank you for a great stay.

A stunning location for this cottage. It was peaceful and has incredible views over the waters to the mountains. It was wonderful to see the tide come and go, we felt close to nature. The cottage was clean and well stocked with kitchen equipment. There are games and books and enough for wood for your first night there. Underfloor heating was lovely and the fire heated the house really well to the point I needed to open the door to cool down - which is great to know you won’t be cold when you’re up there at the end of Autumn! Having a bath while looking out in the views to the mountains felt like a luxury.

Being a long time traveler I can honestly say that Alex’ place is THE most beautiful house I have ever been. We were looking forward to “coming home” after each day trip. Alex has been more than a host. It felt like having a friend on Skye. We will definitely be back - we loved it ◡̈

There is not enough space in this box for me to express how lovely Fiona and her cottage are! Everything is exactly as pictured (actually even more beautiful than pictured) and Fiona is lovely, incredibly responsive to any messages and happy to go above and beyond for any questions that I had. Everything in the cottage is clearly labeled with helpful instructions for use, and Fiona reviewed everything with me at check-in as well. I was traveling alone, and she checked in with me several times to make sure I was comfortable and ensure that everything was going well. A minor repair was needed while I was there and Fiona's husband quickly addressed it and was very considerate with ensuring the repair was done at a time that I would be out. The surroundings are peaceful and incredibly beautiful. I will absolutely be back!

We thought the cottage was absolutely charming, comfortable and attractively furnished and the views were stunning. Carbost is a lovely village and the people in the shop and the Post Office were really friendly and helpful. We did have a bit of trouble with the lock on the front door but some WD40 would probably fix that and it certainly did not spoil our overall enjoyment. Would definitely Red Mountain Cottage

The only thing that I would rate higher than this cottage was the beautiful view and sunsets we enjoyed (these were truly spectacular!). The Byre was just right - cozy, both secluded and close to the great spots nearby such as the Glendale market/post office, Skye Weavers, and 3 Chimneys. Clear instructions and responsive communication were appreciated too. I would definitely recommend this special place to a friend and I would love to come back someday soon!

A great place to base yourself to explore the Applecross Peninsula & the surrounding area. House is well equipped with kitchen essentials and there is plenty of space for a family or a group of friends.

This was a lovely little cottage. Very peaceful location. Host friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Very clean, pretty and nicely presented property with log burner and underfloor heating. Well thought out and good use of space as it is quite wee! We actually really enjoyed not having a TV and sitting reading our books by the fire. We would have preferred a microwave rather than an air fryer. The area is beautiful with lots to explore very locally as well as further afield. Great for sea kayaking and cycling.
