They do not run at the weekends during winter and never on a Sunday. There is a train station 3 miles away. Parking is available on the road. There is a shop 2 minutes away. No pets or children.

The apartment is on the grounds of our main family residence but is completely separate with it’s own private entrance, accessed through the garden gate. We are located in a quiet cul-de-sac just over 5 minutes drive from York city centre and York Racecourse and we are also situated on a direct bus route to both city centre and racecourse. We love hosting through Airbnb and we look forward to meeting you and your guests!

For those wanting to visit York, the Park and Ride at Askham Bar is 10 minutes away and a better option than parking in York. The Gables is not wheelchair friendly.

Lovely stay in York, being able to leave the car in a private spot during the day and walk to the town centre was definitely a bonus. The kitchen had everything we needed for simple cooking and the bathroom was very clean. We didn’t get bothered by neighbours or outside noise during the night so that was perfect ! Gary gave very clear instructions and was quick to respond whenever I messaged him. Would definitely recommend !

What a find! Absolutely perfect for our three night stay in York. Secure parking with EV charging and we didn’t use the car at all once we’d arrived. 45 minute pleasant walk to the centre or bus stop literally right outside the door. Also got an Uber back after a night out and was less than £8. There are local pubs and shops within a few minutes walk too. The place is exactly as shown in the photos, absolutely spotless, with comfy bed and good quality bedding. Carolyn is an excellent host, great local info and perfect level of communication…providing all the information and responsive to messages but also left us in peace :)

My son and I stayed at Lavender Lodge for two nights. The apartment was immaculately kept and I loved the lavender theme … even the bin liners, hand soap and washing up liquid were lavender! The location was great for exploring York centre and on the doorstep of a lovely wildlife and conservation centre. Amanda responded quickly to any queries and access to the apartment was explained clearly for a smooth arrival. All in all we had a wonderful little break and would highly recommend. Thank you so much! 😃

I cannot add a lot to the stack of previous favourable reviews. Exactly as described, 30 mins lovely walk into the city centre, own parking spot, quiet, good wifi, and not forgetting the lovely welcome pack. Overall recommended and I'd happily return next time I'm in York.
