Holiday Cottage - North Dordogne

SiobhanRating, 5 stars10 months ago
We spent a truly memorable fortnight in this most magical of settings – our best Airbnb experience to date! The cottage is gorgeous inside and out. Inside, the accommodation is spacious, incredibly comfortable and finished to a high standard with taste and thought. Outside, the garden is lovely and completely private, with gorgeous views (securely fenced all round so doggies are safe). The cottage is situated in a setting that is tranquil, steeped in nature, but not at all isolated. We could walk the short distance to the local hamlet of St Estephe where there is a fantastic bakery and lovely little café/bar. There is a large supermarket a short drive away in Nontron (which also has a fantastic gym with very reasonable day rates). Most of all, we enjoyed a level of hospitality that is second to none - Angus is the perfect host, personable, approachable and unfailingly helpful (and Bella is the most adorable and friendly doggy). The perfect holiday!

Family home in the countryside.

MirandaRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Gretta's welcome was super friendly and enthusiastic. Perfect hostess! The house is big enough for 2 people. Super neat! Large estate around it which belongs to the gite (not fenced). Nontron with shops and supermarkets in short distance. We enjoyed it! What a peace and space! Highly recommended for nature people

Quiet, family home with linens provided

MarionRating, 5 stars13 months ago
We had a wonderful family stay at Nelly and Pascal's place. The house is renovated and tastefully decorated. It is also very well equipped (excellent kitchen). Besides, they even have everything planned for young children (crib, high chair...). The cleanliness is impeccable, the beds are prepared upon arrival. All you have to do is pack your bags! We also enjoyed the terrace and the garden. It is very quiet and private, a real change of scenery in the green. We'll be back, that's for sure!

Charming cottage overlooking a river

PierreRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Great family stay at Laure's house. The house is very nice, tastefully renovated, in the middle of a beautiful park. We particularly enjoyed the large pool and tennis court, and the fact that the house maintains a mild temperature despite the high heat of August. We were hosted very well by Laure and her husband, who are friendly, caring and available hosts. A very nice place, in a very nice area!

La Tour Carrée de Nontron sleeps 12

JulietteRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Olivier is a responsive and welcoming host, the Tour Carré is an ideal charming cottage for a weekend with friends. We were 3 families, we each had a floor with bathroom and toilet. The common areas are very pleasant from the living room to the dining room, not to mention the roof top with an exceptional view and the garden: a real gem!!!

Incredible & quiet castle - Dordogne

JudithRating, 5 stars10 months ago
16 of us stayed for a week in le Chateau, ourselves, 5 children ,3 in-laws, 6 grandchildren and 3 dogs. We managed to sort out the sleeping arrangements to everyones satisfaction and it was so exciting to stay in such an old Chateau. The secluded situation provided ideal freedom for the children and dogs.We enjoyed fishing ( although failed to catch a carp), playing pool, games and the cinema room. The swimming pool was the main attraction for most especially the pool-party - celebrating a 10yr old birthday - comment from the 6yr old "it was the best day of my life" Other comments: "It was so lovely nothing negative except more mugs needed." "I thought it was brilliant, the chap who was on site was excellent" "Amazing accommodation and facilities, would definitely recommend . Relating to a review I read - not luxury but its authenticity offers so much more. Lovely places nearby if you can tear yourself away. So sad it was only one week.
